That was the definition of an embarrassing loss. Fourth straight loss at home, where the Cowboys average giving up 42 points per game in 2024. A really bad smell is coming out of AT&T and the list of what stinks the worst when a football team loses this badly usually starts with the head coach, the QB, the coordinators, the players getting paid the most. And those people all stunk it up Sunday vs the lions.

But my fellow Cowboys fans, as frustrating as it was watching the lions absolutely embarrass us in our home palace, the worst smell coming out of the “stayjum” is not the players and coaches. The stink worse than a trash bag of rotten food sitting in the Texas heat for a week is coming from the owner’s box, where the oldest General Manager in NFL history sits surrounded by his entitled children. All with their lifetime contracts and a talent for refusing to hold themselves accountable.

So when you feel the frustration of another embarrassing loss, and a dim future for this team, try to remember that the guy who owns and runs this once proud franchise like his personal fantasy football gig has done all these things:
  • Hired all six head coaches we’ve had in the last 29 years since our last SB appearance and last divisional playoff win.
  • Hired eight different offensive coordinators and eight different defensive coordinators in that time.
  • Seen 9 different starting QBs in that 29 year period, two of which have earned top dollar at the time in Romo and Prescott.
  • Had multiple current and future Hall of Fame players on the team with none of them ever experiencing even one divisional playoff win.
The winning owners of the last 28 SBs all had this in common: They hired someone else to be their GM.

So the next time Dak throws a bad pick, the running game averages 2.6 yards in a game, Lamb quits on a route, the defense gives up over 40 points at home and over 500 yards, and the HC looks lost, just remember who hired ALL those guys. And remember he’s been in charge of everything from “jocks to socks” all these years.

The worst smell coming out of AT&T is in the owner’s box. That is the where all this started.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
But, we like our guys.

Also, its a culture thing. Some fans here keep going to the stadium, buying merchandise and so on. Other fans are ok with 12 wins, and defend bust like Mazi Smith with passion.

Like I said, the whole organization is rotten to the bone and some fans are ok with that.
Saw that guy get MAULED on the one touchdown damn

100%. If McCarthy played Zeke that much because he was “commanded“ to do so, he should resign. Any self respecting HC would never stay in a circus where the owner lands helicopters on the practice field and allows any player to talk to him about playing time.
MM wants all of the 6 million dollars he will make this year.
If he resigns he wont get it, so he will put up with whatever to get that $. Same for the rest of the staff.

The players only play for the $
The coaches only coach for the $
As long as they get paid, they are ok with getting blown out and looking like fools.

Yeah, BH, let's keep blaming the QB for the terrible performance of the rest of the team.

Why write all these threads about Jerry and the organization.

You're fighting windmills at this point. Nothing is going to change. Completely futile.

Before the seasons out there will be dozens of the same thread.

Reality is the front office isn't going to change. The only hope for change is Jerry dying and Stephen to become owner. He than appoints McClay GM. And McClay makes all the football decisions and runs the team. Stephen will probably remain president and be in charge of contracts and the day to day running of an NFL team.

This is the only hope for change.

Save your energies for threads about the players and what actually occurs on the field. As a fan that's all we should worry about are the games.

Dallas is 3-3, three losses at home, three wins on the road. Dallas has the bye and a road date with SF. Let's heal the wounded and show up on October 27th ready to go.
Lol wow can’t believe some still have optimism. What colour is the sky in your world? Drugs?

Because once the season starts all moves have been made. Very few NFL teams add players that make a difference during the regular season. The number can be counted on one had, even if you're missing some fingers.

The time to worry about the FO is in the off season.

You root for the 53 that are available for that week. I had Dallas at 4-2 at this point in the season with losses to Baltimore and Detroit. New Orleans has been the only difference after six games.

Dallas has gotten blown out in their three losses, with all being at home. This has fans jumping off bridges. But Dallas is basically where they should be.

Usually Dallas has an easy schedule in the beginning and it is brutal late. This year it's the opposite. Dallas just needs to stay in striking distance. If they do this the perception of this team will change in the second half of year.
I think the LARGER point is that it does not matter if Dallas is 4-2 or 3-3. Playing good teams early simply confirms that ONCE AGAIN.....we are NOT a good team. And how can we roll out a worse product than last year when there were opportunities to improve this product? I mean, some of the opportunities we passed up on were LAY UPs!!!!!!!!!! And that is scary that the architect of this franchise refused to fill holes that could have EASILY been filled. I think the fact that signing Henry was going to be so easy is the reason he did NOT sign him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actions like this makes my fandom as hopeless as it's ever been

Not to sound like a doomer, but nothing will happen. This franchise is devoid of accountability from the top down. Expect more of the same and another wasted year.

How do you fix this team when you have owners who think they Know it All?
I say Jones's because if you think it will get any better under his son you're blind.
No matter how badly we lose, Jerry and his son are so blind that they think they have a good team on the
field. As long as these owners run this team Dallas will never be more than what they are.

Have you even read his post? Please state exactly where he blames the QB for the terrible performance of the rest of the team?

You personally never tire of reminding us that Dak is part of the team. And as such he's as much to blame as everyone else. Correction: he should take a bigger chunk of the blame because as you have also been telling us countless times, he's the leader.

Man, reading your post was like watching a first grader making sense of nuclear physics.

You Dak haters are amongst the most ignorant posters on the internet. I've said before that your hate blinds you. Well, I was wrong. Y'all are just plain ignorant.

Here is what BH said...

"Fourth straight loss at home, where the Cowboys average giving up 42 points per game in 2024. So, to answer your ignorant question, there is your answer. Understand English much? Probably not smart enough to understand it, hence your ignorant responses.

If the story is true about Zeke crying to Daddy Jones, this coaching staff might as well all resign. Because they have no control nor clout and they are all hanging over a cliff with their contracts and the players know it.
Agree with everything you posted. What keeps going thru my head is Jerry saying they were "saving" zeke. Which i assume was we want him fresh when we make our "big playoff push" lol Then in garbage time zeke was out there running the ball. Not that i disagree with it, but was Jerry saving zeke to run the ball in the 4th quarter blowout? It all just contradicts itself.

Well, when you put it that way...

Giving up 42 points per game at home is a comical stat.
That's what we are this year... the Jerry Jones loony tunes.

"Hey Dad, lets see how much the other teams can SCORE against us!!"
(in a mickey mouse voice) "oh great idea Stephen!!! no premium free agents on defense this year!"

I know this will never happen but my respect for Mike McCarthy would increase if he stood at a podium tomorrow and just announced that for the rest of this year, “I’m in control of this football team, and we are going to do things my way.” LOL! Why not? What does he have to lose?

Send a public message to JJ that if he’s going down it will be on his terms. As I said it will never happen but it would sure be fun if he did. The rest of the year might even be more fun.
It sounds great, but I'm sure Mike wants to coach after this year, and publicly embarrassing your owner isn't the best look to potential future bosses.

Happy Birthday Jerry. :D

Couldn't agree with your post more, @Bobhaze We're doomed until Jerry is no longer running the team. The only way I see him stepping down before Father Time takes over, is a total punking by media, both national, & local DFW media. I'm confident that most serious fans, & former players clearly see the problem, & can easily identify it. The issue is, most of them benefit tremendously from Jones, & and the Cowboys. So, they don't want to rock the boat, or bite the hand that feeds them.....

Dear Jerry, remember back in 1989 when you acquired a bad team that needed fixing? What did you do, you fixed it quick. It's time to "rip the bandaid off" this sore. Do it quick-like and it won't hurt as long.

Edit: Get a coach/gm that knows how to do it like Jimmy did.
