That was the definition of an embarrassing loss. Fourth straight loss at home, where the Cowboys average giving up 42 points per game in 2024. A really bad smell is coming out of AT&T and the list of what stinks the worst when a football team loses this badly usually starts with the head coach, the QB, the coordinators, the players getting paid the most. And those people all stunk it up Sunday vs the lions.

But my fellow Cowboys fans, as frustrating as it was watching the lions absolutely embarrass us in our home palace, the worst smell coming out of the “stayjum” is not the players and coaches. The stink worse than a trash bag of rotten food sitting in the Texas heat for a week is coming from the owner’s box, where the oldest General Manager in NFL history sits surrounded by his entitled children. All with their lifetime contracts and a talent for refusing to hold themselves accountable.

So when you feel the frustration of another embarrassing loss, and a dim future for this team, try to remember that the guy who owns and runs this once proud franchise like his personal fantasy football gig has done all these things:
  • Hired all six head coaches we’ve had in the last 29 years since our last SB appearance and last divisional playoff win.
  • Hired eight different offensive coordinators and eight different defensive coordinators in that time.
  • Seen 9 different starting QBs in that 29 year period, two of which have earned top dollar at the time in Romo and Prescott.
  • Had multiple current and future Hall of Fame players on the team with none of them ever experiencing even one divisional playoff win.
The winning owners of the last 28 SBs all had this in common: They hired someone else to be their GM.

So the next time Dak throws a bad pick, the running game averages 2.6 yards in a game, Lamb quits on a route, the defense gives up over 40 points at home and over 500 yards, and the HC looks lost, just remember who hired ALL those guys. And remember he’s been in charge of everything from “jocks to socks” all these years.

The worst smell coming out of AT&T is in the owner’s box. That is the where all this started.
You forgot he ran out 2 hall of fame head coaches that were responsible for all 5 Super Bowl championships.
Yeah, I know Switzer won SB 30 but we all know it was Jimmy's team.

How much better? Winning games better?

I know dang well you fully hate zeke. You bring him up in other non zeke threads all the time. It's weird man.

I don’t hate Zeke. I hate the fact that our crap front office signed Zeke despite him being washed and I hate the fact that the coaches give him carries despite him being washed.

It’s nothing against Zeke. Zeke even being on the team is a symptom of the FO’s country club mentality.

I don’t understand why you can’t see that. No other healthy front office would have brought Zeke in. Jerry did it because he could and because he likes Zeke personally. It had zero to do with Zeke on the field ability at this stage.

So the Zeke situation is directly tied to the trench that is coming from the front office.

They actually did the same thing with Zimmer.

They couldn’t bother to find real
Solutions to RB or D coordinator so they just decided to bring back a couple of old buddies of theirs who are way past their prime and call it a day.

Who says I cant see it? I'm just not as completely obsessed by it like you are.

I can see your zeke posts just fine I assure you.

Plus I can see zeke is hardly the biggest problem here. I think it's far wider than zeke...not just a very average rb.

My posts about Zeke are really in the long run about the FO.

I don’t hate Zeke.

I do hate the FO. the fact Zeke is even here right now is because of them.

It’s not Zeke fault the jones signed him. I would take the money too.

Post of the season so far!! This season's mess is all Jerry and son's doing since they don't care about winning.

I'll translate your great summary by adding our owner is basically giving this long suffering fan base a defiant middle finger as he insists on not changing anything, winning be damned and expects the fan base to continue to buy jerseys, game tickets, etc. Yeah let's blame the toothless lion hc with no power. Lather, rinse, repeat, this franchise is finished as long as a Jones owns the team. The father of the year is applying that same level of integrity to his management of the Cowboys and it shows. #fJerry

Honestly don't think all of this noise does much, just glad it's getting out there.

#Cowboys coaching staff and a few other positions within the organization resemble temp workers who often do the bare minimum because they see little opportunity for growth or advancement in their roles. Knowing that their job security is fragile, they’re constantly on the lookout for better opportunities elsewhere. This same mentality can be seen when leadership fails to set a strong example from the top down.

In football, when you have coaches on expiring contracts and players with contracts that far exceed those of the coaches, it creates a disconnect. There’s a lack of accountability because the players don’t fear consequences from coaches whose positions seem just as unstable as their own. Without a clear chain of command and respect, the motivation to give maximum effort diminishes.

Leadership starts at the top and works its way down through the organization. In my experience of being in business for over 20 years, self-preservation always takes precedence when the future is uncertain. As a result, this team will continue to put in less effort because the writing is already on the wall: they’re preparing for what’s next, not what’s now.

But it's all wishful thinking, it's not based in reality.

I can wish to date a different super model every week, but that's not being realistic.

Why vent and waste energy on something that you know will not happen. The threads all state that there will be no change. But they keep expecting change.
Leonardo Dicaprio did it.

Why write all these threads about Jerry and the organization.

You're fighting windmills at this point. Nothing is going to change. Completely futile.

Before the seasons out there will be dozens of the same thread.

Reality is the front office isn't going to change. The only hope for change is Jerry dying and Stephen to become owner. He than appoints McClay GM. And McClay makes all the football decisions and runs the team. Stephen will probably remain president and be in charge of contracts and the day to day running of an NFL team.

This is the only hope for change.

Save your energies for threads about the players and what actually occurs on the field. As a fan that's all we should worry about are the games.

Dallas is 3-3, three losses at home, three wins on the road. Dallas has the bye and a road date with SF. Let's heal the wounded and show up on October 27th ready to go.
I fear Junior is worse than Jerry.
Jerry is an egomaniac, but he is a smart man with real talent. His talent lies with marketing and business, the guy is actually brilliant at that.
His deficiency is running a football team.
He should be smart enough to see that, but he is blinded by his ego, and his ambition.
The Cowboys were great when he was busy paying off the team, as Jimmy said, and Jimmy was allowed to run the teams operations.

Maybe Stephen is different, I don't know, but my fear is he has an inferiority complex, a desire to "prove" he deserves it and belongs, and
will be the worst part of Jerry but without the brain and talent.

We've heard it 2,000 times....can't wait for your next hate Jerry dissertation to come out.
One clarification…I don’t hate Jerry…I HATE losing. Im sick of it. Jerry is the main cause of all that because he’s in charge of it all.

And I hate the insanity of doing the same things by the same people over and over and over again, somehow
expecting that the results will be different. We’ve had three decades of this stuff. When will enough be enough?

Real fans support the team no matter what! Look everybody, Bob Haze isn't a real fan!

You're supposed to blindly support this team, pal. That's probably why they've been able to accomplish jack **** in the last 30 years, but I'm too dumb to see that...

100%. If McCarthy played Zeke that much because he was “commanded“ to do so, he should resign. Any self respecting HC would never stay in a circus where the owner lands helicopters on the practice field and allows any player to talk to him about playing time.
Its so funny: Jerry gets ask about Zeke not being used. He answers "we save him". And in the next game Zeke gets used again.

If i were MM i would have never signed with Dallas. But hey, i am looking for success in my sport, not a last good contract.

Your post doesn’t make sense. You’re telling us to ignore the FO and to save our energy for the players and what happens on the field.
A sincere question... over the last 20 years, the front office hasn't been ignored by the fans, and exactly where has that gotten the organization?

The best chance this team had was when Jerry was stupid enough to pull off a publicity stunt and land his helicopter on the practice field, but a little to close to the building when you had a football field to land on.

Folks a rebuild is nearly impossible with a $60mm QB. If they were going to be bold they should trade Parsons and Diggs to a contender. Maybe they get 4 high picks for those 2. It will help the awful cap situation too. This roster is going to have to be churned and young to allow for that Dak contract.
Would Dak at $55m been the answer to make EVERYTHING else fall in place?

Just curious what number people thought a QB that was the runner up NFL MVP should have signed for?

Now if you say you did not want Dak at all....that is a different conversation. Although letting the NFL runner MVP walkwould have been unprecedented

But assuming you wanted Dak re-signed, what number would have allowed us to fill all of the other holes on this team. Because Jerry has done a masterful job of convincing this fanbase that what we are seeing on the field is because of Daks contract...and that simply blows my mind that people think that is the PRIMARY reason this product sucks!

It hasn’t gotten us anywhere.

Let me ask you a question. Does the other poster have the right to tell us what we can and cannot talk about?

The answer to that is no, btw.
