Correct, but it's interesting to look at this from a different perspective. Let's say the Cowboys (somehow) snap out of this slump and win a few more games. We could be looking back at those October losses as the ones that kept us out of the playoffs.

If its not a totally inept offense, its a defense that's made of Swiss cheese. Lately, we are getting both of those things on the same week. The team is not very good outside of a few players.

Exactly. I cannot pick one player that played well yesterday. Oh, wait, Chris Jones landed four punts inside the 20.

By the way, the Chargers didn't even punt. Incredible.

I see what you're saying, and I don't e left anything to happen until the season ends.

But then?

See ya!

Barring some crazy unexpected turnaround - which shows no sign of happening - I think they're all deservedly gone.

I'll add this- if we do see heads roll, I'd like to see at least one up-and-coming coach brought in, instead of re-treads that experienced their best days with other teams.

Well it’s pretty bad when your “franchise” QB is playing worse than Hutchinson, Weeden, Leaf, Wright, Carter, Hensen, Testeverde, Bledsoe just to name a few.

But nothing to see here everything is fine he went 13-3 last year, and hasn’t exactly looked stellar this year even leading up to the last 3 games. Not to mention how off pace all our receiving threats are this year. But there is a slew of excuses for that as well. Whatever we have 2 real problems on this team. Some don’t want to admit it though.

unfortunately, Garrett has been saddled with a flash in the pan QB who is going be responsible for some drastic changes in the very near future.

I want capable.

Someone who has actually had head coaching experience, either at the pro or college level.

If that makes them a retread, I'm guilty.

Points and statistics wise, we just witnessed the worst offensive three-week stretch in the Cowboys' 58-year history.

Yep. I suspected as much, but just heard it confirmed.

7, 9, and 6 points.

Who thought this offense was capable of the worst franchise lows we've ever seen?

Embarrassing.
The kicker is...it just might not be over...at least until Elliot returns. This is why the predictable rationalizations and conflations don't totally wash with me. If the simple removal of a running back causes a team to suddenly become acutely blow-out prone, then the Dallas Cowboys have some serious structural problems. If Elliot goes down for a season, then what? Just cash the checks every week and go through the motions until he comes back?

I have said this before about Garrett...namely, that I will be in his corner right up until the very second the players quit on him. After that, his butt can take the first thing smoking out of Dallas...and good riddance.

I've seen worst. After Danny White, there was Hogeboom, Pelluer, Kevin Sweeney (strike season), Laufenberg... Then a ray of light came with Aikman. Then the qb's after Aikman (too many to name).. Then a ray of light with Romo. So this poor QB play is nothing new to me.

What sticks in my head is watching Laufenberg and Brad Johnson play with the Cowboys. Probably the worst offensive i've ever seen in my years watching the Cowboys.
You forgot the guy from Arkansas who I believe started a game, was Kevin Sweeney level bad, but at least Sweeney had the excuse of being a munchkin scab.

Long winded-

That's difficult to answer at this point (and I realize many will disagree with that statement alone).

Generally speaking, I like to see the conclusion of any given season before fully making my mind up about coaches/players. But, this is certainly a unique situation, considering the drastic nature of our season's apparent collapse over the last 3 weeks.

I hesitate to be completely done with Linehan at this moment. If I'm evaluating his fully body of work here, he has done a hell of a job overall, specifically in 2016. You have to imagine in his shoes, he's headed into that season with Romo as his starting QB and without much notice ends up calling plays with a 4th round rookie at the helm who was prepping to be 3rd string. And we ended up with arguably the best offense in the league. There's something to be said for that. And we had a damn good offense this year through the Chiefs game. He also ran a successful offense in Detroit and is well respected (as far as I know) in league circles. I cannot bring myself to wipe everything away for 3 games.

I can't defend Marinelli at this point. We have found a pass rush....a fantastic pass rush in fact, and yet overall our defense has continued to be trash. One middle linebacker - and I don't care how good he is - should not make this big of a difference. We are supposedly a "bend but don't break" defense who keeps plays in front of them, yet we somehow give up enormous "chunk" plays and basically force zero takeaways. Many many posters here, including me, thought that if we found a pass rush our problems would be solved. Not so much.

Garrett, right now, looking like it's the end of the line. HC can't lose the team, and he might be. If, over the next 5 weeks, we continue to go down the toilet Wade Phillips style, he should definitely go. This roster is too talented to get blown out week after week. And it's not just losing. It's being completely uncompetitive and getting crushed.....by teams that aren't even that good. He needs to do something impressive to justify his existence here.

Also, I wouldn't have complained if any combination of our coaches were fired today......but I'm also not overly salty that they're still here.......and that's mainly because, again, I'm not a fan of during-the-season coaching changes.
Pretty good read you posted,Friend! As I enjoyed reading it,,,so, what's the real deal with this "JERRY" half time sprucing pep talks at half-time?,,, is that actually factual?,,, seriously, if that is the creepy 'BIG DADDY' casing-liner going down at half-time, it's patently obvious to the front line players just how meaningless this farce of which they've been bought/sold into
Geezy-Weezy!
This is totally self inflicted, and justifiably 'frag' worthy o_O
