They have had talent in the building since the Garrett era. The problem is the Joneses are too lazy to put the work in to get a championship. They have cheap talent at key positions in the organization so they can continue to have Fall Guys. The tragic part of it all is that nobody takes a fall. Nobody. No woodsheds. It is all a lie to keep the money train running.

If this was the case, they'd be signing big name FA.

The problem is worse, we have two knuckleheads who think they outsmarted the league and continue to double down on it.
Nah, they can hype up a draft class for 4-5 years (eg: offseason breakout protentional) at a very low cost.

Who are you to tell other fans how they should enjoy their fandom?
Not the only one that tells other posters that point out the failures of Jethro and company to go elsewhere.
Only happy fans are allowed here according to some

Again, no it is not.
Winning means more probability.

As a business owner, say if a restaurant. And you have a decent cook and decent but average food.
Are you content with just making a profit?
Or if you come across a better chef (upgrade from a cook) and entire staff, and make your food better, that creates even more profit.

It does not matter if that chef is a well known experienced chef (vet FA) or is a new up comer (drafted). Profability goes up.
This isn't a local restaurant, its a billion dollar fast food chain like McDs. The formula is in place and a bunch of minimum wage teens can run it

Yes, and its exactly the how the Jones' like it. They've realized that hype is more profitable than winning.
This right here. Jerry’s Super Bowl is winning the revenue game against the other 31 NFL owners. He’s got 3 rings and is in the hall of fame. There is zero motivation to do what it takes to actually win a Super Bowl now. We’ve all been swindled because the narrative has always been Jerry’s desire to be known as a football man. The truth has finally slapped everyone in the face this offseason.

And a lack of talent in key areas since Tuna left.

With the talent the team has had they’ve underachieved. We’ve had three straight 12 win seasons with two division titles and only one playoff win. We’ve lost our last two home playoff games to underdogs. That’s underachieving.

That’s the story of the last 15 years. I have given up on us seriously competing for a title. Relevant? Yes. Contender? No. The low risk strategy the Jones’ like.

We’ve been a QB away several times since Troy retired. This FO puts no stock in the position.

Every team has talent, so what? That is not a guarantee to win the Super Bowl.

Aikman was a generational talent that are hard to find. They are fortunate to get winning QB's from Romo (undrafted), Dak (4th rd pick). The track record of success of 1st round QB is rare.

Dak is more the exception than the rule, most 4th rd QB don't become starters or winning QB's.

Maybe the other team was better. How can you have watched that Packers game and not to come to that conclusion? The other times they were not the better team either.

Eerily familiar to what my Father use to tell me back in the day. Next years champions. Decent football teams but something was always missing.

What’s some what troublesome is the fact that through multiple QB’s, Romo/Dak, and multiple teams/HC’s, the same things keep happening in big games. It’s like a curse or something. Suddenly they forget how to play football. The last one might be the worst effort I’ve seen from any team in NFL history….
maybe they arent good enough to win the Super Bowl. Good but not great.

No. The 13-3 team was not at full strength: a hobbled TO at 50% and had just an average defense to begin with that got worse with Jacques Reeves having to take over as 4th CB spot I believe.

The 12-4 team could’ve been in the NFC championship game if it wasn’t for one of the most bogus reverse calls on a catch in NFL history. Romo played well but Murray had that one careless fumble (I still don’t know how it happened from such a weak looking strip) that took away highly probable points.
How good were those teams? They were not very good the year before in either year. They overachieved both times.

In the playoffs the other teams have been better. The Cowboys usually play their best football the first half of the season and begin to fade by December. They’re never playing their best football entering the playoffs. They peak early and sputter out. The Packers didn’t look that good for most of the season but got hot the final few weeks. They were playing their best football of the season when the playoffs started.

I guess this in bold was your point but not sure as you were all over the place. But if it was, the answer is that every years it’s a new team with new players and new coaches. Some fans like @Reid1boys, myself and others enjoy the entire NFL season and the buildup leading to. The NFL is the most popular sport in America. Teams go back decades. THe history, the rivals. It’s all fun and something to look forward to. Unfortunately, some fans are incapable of enjoying the season and instead look for ways to crap on them. It’s sad for them.
This is why I post less and less. People would rather doompost and make the place toxic.

2014 they were… and then started to struggle again in the playoffs.

They won a playoff game in 2014. They lost on the road to Aaron Rogers because our defense always sucks in the playoffs, especially against him. That was a close competitive game.

They did… but they did not play particularly well vs Detroit either.
