There are still quite a few OL candidates out

Yes he was mentioned by Archer.....Black was Willie Roaf's replacement at OT & not that successful ...I would argue that he's not as good as Colombo.

You don't have to argue. He simply isn't.

Jordan Black is a name that intrigues me, i think he can come in and be just as good as Colombo so if Colombo is gone i hope its this guy who comes in

Jordan Black was simply abused last year in KC. I'd rather pass and see what Mquistan has if that is where we are heading.

Who's he?????

Guard out of Denver. He is 30, but he has only two years of starting under his belt, so not much wear and tear.

Black wasn't as good as Willie Roaf; Colombo was better than Rob Petitti.

Not sure what this tells us about how Black compares to Colombo, however.

J. Stinchcomb(?) - not sure about him

He signed a two year deal with the Saints (7 million).

We need to call up Colombo and give him what he wants.

This is ridiculous.

Yes, it amounts to extortion but there are no right tackle options left that we should even be thinking about.

We really need to go back to the horror of 2005 and appreciate what Colombo did for us last season.

Colombo was not beaten like a drum to the tune of thirteen sacks last year like Black was.

How is that for a comparison?

good point.. comparing most players to willie roaf isnt exactly fair

if we were to go to training camp with no potential replacements for Rivera and Columbo, then worry

but we're only in day two of free agency and still have the draft...in some way, shape or form we'll probably have 3-4 new OL's before training camp

Alexander.......you are wired.....took a couple of purple pills I see.

I love it......:)

while I hope we can get Colombo back at RT, it owuld be nice to DRAFT a good OL for a change. Our only attempts at OL in the relatively early rounds recently were busts, but they were expected to be busts by most experts.

Even the Cowboys scouting staff tried to talk BP out of wanting Rogers. Those of us who saw Peterman live saw that he was only an average OG who was overmatched by some SEC Dts.

It's time to invest some draft picks in the Oline. There are Gs available who can actually start in the NFL. I'm one who is still upset that we passed on Marcus McNeil at OT last year. Coach WP knows how he turned out.

A good draft pick (I still trust Ireland) give us some youth and keeps us from wasting a ton of money. We rebuilt the D through the draft. You would think we could try that w/ the O

nobody knows more about Columbo than the Cowboys and our teams' medical staff...it could be that our trainers are saying he is too much of a risk for a huge signing bonus and/or other guarnateed money

so no, I would just call him and "give him what he wants"...he isnt worth it on the field and probably isnt worth the risk due to medical history

if he wont sign a reasonable deal, c ya

I'll worry anytime I feel like it.....Thank You.

At the moment it's the shape or form I'm worried about.

So basically what you are saying is that we now will have two huge glaring holes on the offensive line and will roll into the draft with them heavy on our minds?

Forgive me if that doesn't have me jumping for joy.

is free agency over? I'm sorry, did every decent OL already sign and I missed it?

Thanks.

And I think the other side is also salient: Many tackles are going to look quite capable when compared to Rob Petitti's rookie performance.

Even a 2nd year Pat McQuistan, for example.

Good thoughts and it is great in theory.

The reality is, that right now, we could very well have an entire new right side of the offensive line. And if we go with this plan, a rookie or very inexperienced right side.

Or go at it again with Marco Rivera, which makes me nauseous.

I agree we need to get more young depth. But we do have to start someone. And I would prefer it not have to be two young players.

You can disguise one.

Two is very difficult.

Tell me what right tackle option is going to be superior if we lose Colombo.

So why would a tackle like Jordan Black who had a Petitti year even be a consideration?

right now, alot of options would be as good

Columbo is not a probowler or even close...he is an average player
