Teams win Super Bowls and occasionally a QB can carry that team to one but it isn't very often and Aikman certainly never had to carry the Cowboys to a SB.

Romo represents a much higher percentage of our offense and scoring than Aikman ever did. Doesn't mean Romo is better than Aikman but it does mean we rely on Romo far more, perhaps to the detriment of overall success.

OMG did you just compare Aikman to Dilfer? compare Aikman's stats playoff stats to Romos stats anyday of the week!

While its true Aikman and Staubach had great players around them, Aikman was the #1 overall pick to a horrible horrible team. Irvin was coming of an injured ACL, and Emmitt didnt come till after Aikman was abused for a year. They developed into the triplets together.

romo on the other hand, being a free agent from division 2 sat on the bench for 3 and a half seasons, and when he finally played, had a loaded team built around him. The OLine played great for a couple of years giving him all day to throw to a wide open TO. A more fair question would be, how would someone like Quincy Carter have looked on this team the last couple of seasons, compared to romo playing when Quincy was playing with guys Troy Hambrick, Dan Campbell, etc. As bad as Quincy was, they somehow got to the playoffs, whose to say with the talent this team has had the last few seasons that they wouldnt have won a playoff game. I highly doubt they would have with Quincy, but if romo couldnt win with this team over the last couple of years, its doubtful he will now or ever.

Cant say for sure just like nobody can say he will win a Super Bowl, and those who say just watch are just throwing feces on the wall and hoping it sticks so they can say they were right. And if they turn out to be wrong, they will go to extremes to say it was everyone else fault but romo why this team didnt win.

so because he didnt win a playoff game his first 2 seasons as a starter he now is on the "doubt he ever will list" .....? thats as ridiculous as someone even thinking about trying to compare Romo to Quincy .....oh wait

I should have been more clear. At this point in Romo's playing career, he and Aikman are on equal footing. I would venture a guess that Romo has been more successful than Troy was in his first 40 starts, by almost any measure. You can't expect an UDFA QBs playing career to start at the same age as a QB who was drafted #1 overall. All that matters is the number of starts a guy has and his production during that time.

So...case reopened, and closed again.

The tease of Romo is that his failures are mostly attributed to not protecting the ball.

Of course thise directly impacts winning but Wade and Jason don't seem to have gotten that memo.

Until Romeo protects the ball and steps out of the tabloids he'll just be a tease.. imho one fans will grow tired of as fast as they jumped on his bandwagon.

If our defense could play to their potential we wouldn't have any reason to cry about Romo at all because even when he steps it up in big games our defense folds.

JMO, but that station has about 3 people worth listening to, Ben and Skin and kevin scott/Pete stein. And Kevin Scott really seems disinterested in the cowboys and pete stein gives in on all his opinions to mike rodriguez, who is awful.

I know ben n skin have good sources and are worthy of listening to things they say, the rest of the station is a mess. Gregg bell, sean salisbury, jagger in the morning, newy scruggs etc...they are worthless. To try and get ratings they basically bag on romo half the day everyday. Salisbury back in early march said he is not sure if romo is a top 20 qb and named nearly every qb in the league he would take over him not named jamarcus russell.

Gregg Bell rants daily about trading marion barber so we can then trade for LT, so you know....

THe jagger in the morning radio show is filled with steelers fans who basically made fun of romo and the cowboys the whole winter, which is fine but just to give you some info on them.

anyway, make sure and include which show, because basically if it wasnt ben n skin there is probably zero validity to it and 110% over the topness trying to drive some people to call the station. You know the home of the cowboys but they dont carry team press conferences....

Too much scapegoating of Romo. The gumps won in 2007 with eli. If they had Romo they would have won last year too.
