There was no reason to draft Tyron’s replacement before this year

This weird narrative that’s going around media and fans is the Cowboys should’ve addressed tackle before now. First off the narrative is a lie. They have addressed tackle in the middle of the draft. Now if the argument is they should’ve addressed it in the first round? The only time it made sense was Slater over Parsons and that would’ve set this team back years.

So when was this suppose to happen? When we drafted Lamb? Diggs? When?
Lamb - we did not need a WR to be honest!

The Cowboys needed to address that position this year but clearly didn't think forward enough to realize that Collins and Williams needed replaced also. Can't fix 3 holes with only 1 first round pick.
No you cannot, which is when teams typically turn to free agency.

They should've used a premium pick on a OT this past draft, I stated that plenty times during the offseason because we knew Tyron was gonna miss games and Ball was a unknown. They should've been drafting OTs in the mid rounds before Ball to develop, but they figured it out.

Dont know how they didnt figure Williams needed to be replaced. He was underwhelming and going into the last year of his contract. At that point they should have seen enough of McGovern to know he wasn't the answer either

Come on. That's so off base. We used a 4th rounder on an OT in 2021 and before that the last player we drafted to play OT was Green in the 3rd round of 2015. We also signed Collins in 2015. Our free agent signings have all felt like half-assed attempts to bring in a short term backup. We absolutely should have addressed the problem more seriously before this year. We are playing at OT an UDFA and an All Time great who is an injury waiting to happen with a first year 4th and 5th rounder backing them up. It's ridiculous.

drafting tyler smith WAS/IS the plan.
only question now is...do they move him out there now or break him in at guard.
my guess is...they'll move him out there now.
why wait.

They should have brought in a good LT FA this off-season. No excuse for not doing that as Smith has a recent history of injury problems.

Cowboys should have taken an OL in the 4th round.

Daniel Faalele fell to 4th round, he was projected as 2nd rounder.

Good value.

Cowboys have enough technique players, need more nasty take no prisoners physical OL.

Common sense is not looked upon favorably here, only Ken, Nancie and Karen responses of the sky is falling will be appreciated going forward. Ty…

Agree! Just an aside…. A precursory look, this look to be a really weak draft class.

They did. The problem is the guys that were to play went early. There were rumors that they wanted to move up for Cross if he got within striking distance. He went 9th though. Tyler is likely their future at LT. Just not the present. Their failure is they didn't have a contingency plan for a guy that absolutely needs one
