I expect them to make all of the bad moves they can.

They’ll extend their awful quarterback contract to free up money now and kick the can further down the road.

They’ll then franchise tag a running back and keep the other one around too. And show the rest of the league what NOT TO DO.

And then they will repeat the whole Amari Cooper scenario all over again by using top resources and money to get ‘help’ for the mistake I mentioned at the beginning. The quarterback contract they won’t admit their mistake on.

Can’t wait!

Just in case anyone still has any hope for any change and some aggression in March.

We've heard from Jerry being reluctant to go all in and now Stephen talks about our upcoming FA at 8:55 to 11:30 of the video.

And at the 15:30 mark he talks about how close we are and how the Eagles/49ers game looked just like our game against the 49ers until they ran out of QBs.

I won't link you to his comments on Zeke because they are nauseating. You only can see Pollard's value because he's a "fan's RB".

We are right on the cusp in his mind and that of the father.

Meaning they're doing a great job and they just have to stay the course.

Status quo, bros. Yet again.

How do you want them to go all in? It is one thing to have some "utopia" idea of what the cowboys should do, but people can't name the players that are avialable, what they should be paid, what players get let go, and how to have a full roster with those players.

People have this utopia idea in their head but can't back it up. It is all a b.s. way to complain

They are delusional. If Elliott is back next year with that cap hit, or worse, after a restructure, it's just another sign that they don't know what the hell they are doing and just reward guys that they drafted because they think it makes them look like great drafters.

And what does that even mean, Pollard is a "fan's RB"? He's not trying to make the case that Elliott is a better TB than Pollard at this point, is he?

This goober is going to be running things himself in a few years. We are ****ed.
Truly and completely.

Every word that comes out of their mouths is insanity.

These guys have failed at their jobs for 30 years and they think they've cracked the code

Murray's career was over by 2017. Letting him walk for what he got paid was a great move, imo.

However, I was not at all for using the 4th overall pick on Elliott.
Seemed crazy to me.

And sure enough, when we were picking in the 2nd round, a full round later, there was Derrick Henry still on the board.
Not to mention Jalen Ramsey at 4 just waiting to be taken.

Talk about arrogance and denial, these two morons take it to a new level!
We have a declining RB and a serviceable QB who have huge contracts and comprise a significant portion of the salary. The QB needs a strong supporting cast as well as a “Dak friendly” offensive scheme in order to be effective.
But Dak has no interest in taking a pay cut to free-up cap space to upgrade the talent he requires for success, which I think speaks volumes about his character.
So with limited cap space, Dallas will sign the same bargain bin FAs and get the same results.
While all the teams in the division are getting stronger and deeper, the Cowboys will not do anything to improve their roster as those the Jones’ think they’re 1-2 players away. Talk about being delusional…wish there were some form of accountability so these morons could get fired. They are slowly running a once-proud franchise into the ground.

Slowly yep, but they are picking up the pace.

I’ve never been this discouraged.

Between the refusal to admit mistakes and getting taken in negotiations, down to forming personal relationships with players…it’s really awful.

The stopwatch thing really deflated me. I can’t even admit I’m a fan of this team at this point. It’s a pure joke. Really is.

To be fair we’ve been through this whole “the backup RB is better” thing before. Before Pollard it was Randle (lol) and I remember people screaming for Hambrick back in the day.

People are never really satisfied and usually don’t know what they’ll be missing until they actually do especially when they’re on a perpetual state of frustration like this fan base.

Not saying that Zeke hasn’t disappointed or that he wasn’t overpaid but he isn’t the only player on the team that has an albatross for a contract. Our own QB comes to mind.

They should’ve kept Murray, IMHO. I think the team would look much different if they had.
But here's the difference, Dak has a big contract but his contract isn't quite out of line with QBs nowadays.

Zeke has the 2nd largest cap hit of any TB in the NFL. He's not even a Top 15 TB at this point in his career.

It's the worst contract on the team. And these two nitwits are gonna try to defend it. LOL.

SJ kept saying, "You can't identify all what Zeke provides to the team."

He's right about that. I can't identify.
All that he provides?

OK. He's not a great runner anymore. He's not a threat as a pass catcher. He's a good blocker still at this stage.

So basically, they are justifying his massive cap hit and base salary (relative to other TBs) because he blocks well.

Stupid goobers. Here's what's really at play here. Loyalty is kicking in, again. They drafted him. They signed him to an ill advised massive extension. Walking from him now is viewed by the two Jones as a sign they made a mistake with Elliott, which they did. In their eyes, if they keep him until the end of his deal, it somehow proves to everyone that he was worth the deal and that these two chowder heads were smart.

Any fan on this board that honestly thinks these two know what they are doing and can get this team to a SB are just fooling themselves.

Jones' master plan:
Trade CD for a conditional 8th round draft pick, pick up cole beasely to replace his production for cheap
Trade Wilson off, bargain back Jeff Heath with a 2024 first round pick to the NFL for acquiring such talent
Extend Galimore cause he already brings the Payne
Resign Zeke as hes a fan favorite

Here's what I expect.

- They are gonna clear money for extensions for their guys. That's a given. If I am LVE and want to stay in Dallas, given how loyal these guys are, LVE is back for example.

- They'll nickle and dime there way through FA again. Any delusions of a top or even mid tier DT, put to rest. They aren't interested. They'll bring back Watkins and Hankins and then throw a middling pick at the position. Problem solved.

- Jerry kind of let the cat out of the bag at WR when he said Tolbert needs to step up. I think they expect Tolbert and probably whatever rookie they draft and maybe another James Washington type to fix their WR issues.

And in July, the homers will be defending what we did this offseason, again.

We've spent years pointing out their mistakes, and frankly even nitpicking some of the things they do. But there will be no greater a sign that these two simply are overmatched as GMs than when they either let Elliott play next year for that cap hit or, worse, they restructure him and kick more cap hits into future years when Elliott will be really run down.

The Elliott situation this offseason could be one of the single dumbest things these two have ever done. I hope I am wrong.

I seriously wonder who those guys listen to. Just each other? They act more like guys playing fantasy football than a real NFL front office that is accountable for results.

I mean when your GM is ok throwing an entire decade down the toilet because he loved Jason Garrett, you know they are insulated, arrogant and unaccountable for failure. In fairness, they have drafted much better because of Will McClay. But they aren’t humble enough to own their mistakes. They scapegoat.

I thought Murray only lasted a year at Tennessee.
They ran him down. He was out of gas by the time he got to Tennessee. That was the Cowboys fault. Murray was the main reason we got to the playoffs that year. Romo finally looked good in the playoffs because he had a running game to lean on. The next year the team fell to 4-12 and Romo got hurt. Jerry compensates by drafting Zeke with a high pick in the draft.

One can only hope they are not telling us what they really think. Which I could accept.
