Ive seen every snap that Travis has played in his college career. Trust me,...you guys will end up being more than happy with him. He might have been over drafted a bit,...but truth is,...this is a strange draft.

Heres my take on Frederick. In all honesty,...I do think he makes a better guard than center. Dont get me wrong,...he was very good at center last year,...he just didnt quite jump out at me as much as he did the year before at guard. This guy is a mauler,...a REAL mauler. One of the strongest guys in college football. He was squatting over 700 pounds as a sophomore. VERY smart too. Bright future ahead.....

Which leads me to......TODAY!

Some wont like it,...but I say we go ahead and FINALLY for once and for all fix this hot mess of an offensive line that has been holding us back for YEARS!

With our first pick today, we go ahead and take one of my favorite players in the entire draft. Brian Schwenke , CENTER from Cal. You plug him in at center day ONE , line up Frederick next to him at GUARD and go ahead and sign Winston at R.T and its a whole new ball game. The days of getting pushed around at the LOS and not being able to run the ball are OVER!

Now for our two third rounders today.......

3 .A.....Benny Logan D.T LSU

3.B....Laveon Bell R.B Michigan state. Power runner, ramrod type. Should fit in nicely in a rotation with Murrey.

No safety you say? Cant help it. Too many holes and not enuff picks. Just the way it is sometimes. Cant do it all in one draft. Gonna have to take one later OR pick someone up during camp who gets cut from another team.

But one thing for sure.....that O line is FINALLY FIXED!

Good to hear kind words about the guy. The truth is that early on I really did like Frederick, but never considered him in the 1st round. I think the circumstances is why people are upset, not because of the player. How we got to 31, who was passed on and finally the selection was just a perfect storm.

He would have been a nice pick at 47 but when he's our first round pick and we started the day out at 18... come on

One thing to consider. Last year guard Kevin Zeitler from Wisconsin went towards the end of round 1 to the Bengals. Ended up starting day one and doing a stellar Job for them. Now think about this a minute. Zeitlers last year in Madison he was the starting RIGHT guard, Meanwhile,....Frederick was the starting LEFT guard. Zeitler is a little more mobile,...Frederick ALOT stronger. Has the build/frame to REALLY anchor in and not give up ground.

Frederick is NOT what some think he is. He will be a quality guard or center, " Hopefully guard as I REALLY want Schwenke" and he will start for many years.

Oh,...I understand what you are saying. Thing is,...we have multiple holes. More than anything we need SOLID starters. This is just the type of draft to do it in.

Liked the pick a lot. If he pans out nobody will care where he was drafted. The team is better today than it was yesterday.

I too hope they grab another OL in round 2. Then Clabo / Winston and watch out.

I don't think we're draft 3 starters in one draft. Maybe whomever we take in the 2nd, is a day 1 starter but chances are (like most other years) anyone from 3rd on down is going to spend more time on the bench, or inactive even, than anything else - during this season.

Now heres where we see who the buyers and Liars are!...:D About 6 months ago I started a thread in here about Travis Frederick. Would be VERY interesting to take a look back on that thread and compare peoples thoughts back then to what they are saying now. LOL

Frederick's fine, but could have been had much later. Thus, the pick sucks.

I agree,...But we CAN get TWO starters in Frederick and Schwenke and a valuable rotation guy in Laveon Bell. NOT BAD. Now add in a rotational D.T and we have done pretty well.

Hey, I'm all for it. I want Frederick at guard, not center myself. If we draft two quality OL back to back, I'd be pleasantly surprised. I do want to add a safety though.

Great, great pick. nobody but the guys in the war room have any idea what this team needs in light of what their plans are after June 1--this guy is a solid starter for years and i hope they take another like him in round 2

With Frederick as a backup at center but probably going to be a starter at Guard, we WON'T be drafting a center in the 2nd or 3rd round. We have Costa with Frederick as a contingency now. That extra 3rd I feel is almost specifically to grab Leveon Bell since they figured that he wouldn't last until the 4th. So I predict for the next 3 picks:
WR
S
RB

What do you think of Ball at 47?

LOVE HIM! Not, I repeat NOT, a typical Wisconsin system back. Far and away the best Back UW has ever produced when it comes to being NFL ready. Think he is far and away the best back in this draft. Super kid too,...whoever drafts him is going to end up with a steal.

I like Bell ALOT too, think he fits our system and makes a nice compliment to Murrey. Thing is,....Ball is by far the more complete back. Has excellent vision,...can run north south AND outside. Has the ability to CREATE. With Bell,....once you get him running east/west........he's a dead duck.

Did I hear right that he's a three year engineer? If so that's amazing.

I'd prefer someone other than Bell.
