Hasn't Dallas done enough over the last few year to embarrass themselves....they don't need KC's help

Yes apparently several people on this board. Chiefs are really good?! That's a good one. Good at trading and or aquiring 49ers leftover QBs!!!

Ah yes the age old message board myth that anyone that questions their team in a matchup is somehow a fan of the other team.

Please, do not talk to me about what you do not know. It only makes me tired.

What I don't know? You're the one saying Smith and Romo are pretty much comparable. Like I said, Get a grip.

What I don't know? You're the one saying Smith is just about as good as Romo. Like I said, Get a grip.

Oh boy, here we go. Show me where I said that, just once. After you can't find that statement, come back and admit that you are wrong.

Then, we can talk about all the reasons why your statement on Ortan are also wrong. I don't mind talking football but I hate having to argue ridiculous statements.

Pretty far off-base here. Smith isn't as bad as everyone thinks he is, especially with the walrus behind him. I think Tony is head and shoulders above Smith, but don't count him out as a Gabbert.

I thought the same thing when discussing Romo's injury in the first half Sunday night, I heard Keyshawn say, "Romo stayed in this game because he really wanted it, .. but if this was in the past he would have come out of the game for sure."

Bolf-face ignorance.

I thought, "how does he get paid to spew this garbage?"

His name only.

I am trying to put us in KC's shoes last week. Does Dallas go to Florida and win 28-2? Do we beat them worse or is it a closer game? KC got two turnovers and didn't exactly light it up offensively. Their D did put up a shutout though.

Flip that, how does KC play if NYG come to town. Think they get 6 turnovers and win 36-31?

Smith played pretty darn well in 2011 and 2012 before he suffered a season ending injury. I think that in Reid's offense, he's going to be pretty darn good. That offense fits him to a tee. Not sure if you recall but Reid actually tried to get Smith from San Fran a few years ago when Smith was the backup.

The question is, how much of Reid's offense has Smith gotten down? I think we are fortunate that we are getting the Chiefs now as opposed to later in the season. The longer Smith is in that offense, the more he will pick up.

LOL.....

Still living on Tobacco Road I see.

Haha

I've been in Dallas for what seems like forever now.
But I'll always be UNC and ECU fans...that's where I went, and all of my siblings too. I even have 4 nephews and nieces that went to one or the other school. And my sister and nephew went to ECU Med school.
Deep roots for sure.
I suspect my own kids will go to school in Texas though.

Odd thing is, my parents retired in Va Tech country and know Frank Beamer very well.
Small world.

KC beat JAX (on the road) by 26 last week the Cowboys haven't beaten anyone by that many points in 2 years. I haven't read through all the posts but I'm sure there's at least a few FANS laughing it up thinking (or convincing themselves) that Sunday will be a cake walk for the Cowboys. I remember heading into week 2 last season FANS were already chalking up an easy win vs Seattle. One FAN started a thread wanting everyone to predict how many sacks Ware would get on Russell Wilson. Me being the realist I am warned against being over confident for that game but naturally many FANS scoffed and took offense to my opinion. Everyone was looking at the 7-9 team Seattle was prior to the 2012 season. FANS disregarded Russell Wilson as a viable threat because he was a rookie 3rd round pick. It's not wise to look at the 2-14 team KC was in 2012 because even after one week it's clear they're not that same team. It usually takes 4-5 games for a team to establish what kind of team they're going to be but most felt heading into this season KC would be much improved. Despite they were playing JAX it's still too early to know whether the Jags got beat down last Sunday because they're that bad or KC is just that good. KC could end up being a damn good football team this season so I wouldn't be playing down their lopsided win last week.

The Chiefs made key changes at the two most critical area's on a football team at HC and QB which makes this a different KC team than in 2012. Alex Smith may be a bus driver but he can't be taken for granted he's played much better the past 2 seasons. No one knows what to expect with the Cowboys on Sunday they're a puzzling team that's trying to learn how to win consistently. This is a very dangerous game for the Cowboys having to go on the road and face a team that was down in the dumps all of last season and is excited about getting off to a good start on opening day. Their fans are going to be fired up on Sunday and the Cowboys have had issues on the road in front of hostile crowds. It ended in a dogfight the last time the Cowboys traveled to KC. I said prior to the start of this season that if things are going to be different this season for the Cowboys they can't get off to any worse than a 3-1 start if they plan on being a playoff team. Their first 4 games are vs non playoff teams from last season so it's a must they do no worse than 3-1 or they'll be off to the same up and down start we've been seeing the past few years.

With Denver, NO, Green Bay and the other very losable games on the Cowboys schedule they have to pile some wins up early or they'll be up against it later in the season. RG3 will find his groove by the time the Cowboys face Washington and Philly certainly isn't going to be a pushover with their fast pace offense that can put up points quick if you have a confused defense with players not knowing where to be. This Sunday in KC will go a long way in telling us if this Cowboys team is a different team or the same inconsistent team we've been seeing. It's going to be difficult for any of us not to be discouraged if the Cowboys don't come away with a win on Sunday. To assure a playoff spot you need at least 10 wins so the Cowboys have to win at least 9 of their next 15 games to have a good shot at the playoffs.

I don't know, I am trying to gauge us against KC, not KC vs NYG. Hard to make that comparison, for me, due to a division game where things get crazy. I think the Giants would win with a couple less turnovers but with six, who knows.

Maybe this explains why I'm too protective of Mack Brown at times. He was our coach when I was in grad school at UNC. Heck, he was even coaching at Tulane when I lived in New Orleans. Can't go anywhere without that old guy following me. lol
His days may be numbered though

I digress

I like their defense... I believe we can still be very effective on offense however.

Last year, a lot of people scoffed at the notion that the Cowboys would lose to the Seahawks in Week 2 after having just defeated the defending champion Giants.

.................The Cowboys lost to the Seahawks 27-7.

Frankly this game is big for Red Ball as well. We really laid an egg in the second game last year after an emotional win vs the Giants. Red Ball has to show that he has the ability to get a team prepared for a game after an emotional game. The best coaches are able to do this most of the time. Red Ball has to prove he can do it as well.
