Kansas City isn't as bad as some think, they aren't as good as some of you guys are trying to get us to believe either. No team goes from two wins to world beaters in one off season . The Cowboys could lose but should able to win this game.

Chiefs are a really good team and while we should beat them, I think they have a real shot at beating us

I don't think it will be the laugher a lot of you are expecting

No one is saying they aren't a good team. They will be improved from last year.

But embarrass us? Ummm no.

I'm sorry but that was not the case last year. We were a mess at the begining of games and we constantly had to fight to get back into them. Now to give credit to Garrett the team did fight till the end.

I hope the team can be better prepared for this one.

Absolutely. Saying the team was well prepared is a joke. They had to ditch the gameplan at halftime just about every week.

Please. Nobody with a lick of sense believes this team was throwing out gameplans at halftime. The Cowboys, like many teams, script their first 15 plays. From there, they make adjustments as the game goes on. They didn't throw away gameplans because of any slow offensive starts.

There were reasons we got behind in games last season, and they were apparent on the field when you watched the team play. They weren't related to preparation by the coaches. JG's obviously a very organized coach, and he has his team prepared to play every week, and, yes, they play hard. We've had limitations, obviously, but that doesn't mean that we've been doing everything wrong. It's enough to look at the lack of takeaways and the porous pass defenses to know why this team was getting itself behind the 8 ball last season. Preparation definitely was not the problem.

The key to beating KC is for the Cowboys to get them down and force Alex Smith to have to beat us in the 4th quarter. Smith is a game manager and has to be taken out of his comfort zone and that's having to play from behind. The Cowboys need to stuff the run and make Smith have to put the ball up. If he beats the Cowboys with an efficient passing attack our D has some serious issues and God help us when we face Peyton Manning next month.

They're offense can't keep up with ours? On Paper maybe.

We'll tap the breaks on our offense almost the entire game. There will be a lack of urgency and tempo with a mix of penalties.

It's going to be close.

You pretty much described every cowboys week 2 game for the last 5 years

So I was watching some of the KC-Jax game, and something really popped out to me: Blaine Gabbert sucks.

I mean this guy is bad. I don't think KC even needed to field a defense and the JAX offense still would have gone 3 and out. I'm not trying to down play the Chiefs defense which is still really good, but there were so many opportunities to go down the field on these guys and Gabbert is just so bad he couldn't make anything happen except making perfect passes to the other team.

I think that the reason why Chiefs fans think they will beat the Cowboys is because they felt that they were a qb away of being playoff contenders for years. When healthy, they have a good defense and running game, but it was difficult to find production from the qb position since Weis left for Kansas.

Ah yes the age old message board myth that anyone that questions their team in a matchup is somehow a fan of the other team.

There have been several Chiefs fans posting on this board. This happens before every game week. And yes there are several Haters on this forum as well. Take the good with the bad.

There is nothing wrong with being critical of the Cowboys. Being a realist doesn't negate your love and support of a team.

Thanks for calling me out though

A big truth about this game is it a very important early test for both teams. KC beating the Jags doesn't say much to the league, but if they can beat Dallas, that would be a big step in the right direction. For Dallas, it's a good opportunity to get an extra game up, since Wash and NYG will both face tough games. KC isn't as bad as they played last year, several players on both sides are very talented. And Reid certainly knows the Dallas players and tendencies.

It really should be one of the better games this week.

The biggest difference in the Cowboys and Chiefs is they run the football very well. Something the Cowboys struggle with. Stack the box shutdown Charles and its game over. Whats the differnence between Cassel and Smith? This is the same Chiefs team with a better head coach. Dallas won't destroy the Chiefs but based on last year and week one, this is a game the Cowboys should win. This week to me proves whether this team is on the path or the same mediocre team with talent.

If the offenses and defenses are locked in a stalemate, maybe Dwayne Harris can decide it by taking a punt to the house.

Oh boy, here we go. Show me where I said that, just once. After you can't find that statement, come back and admit that you are wrong.

Then, we can talk about all the reasons why your statement on Ortan are also wrong. I don't mind talking football but I hate having to argue ridiculous statements.

My point is that our QB situation is wayyy more superior than them. Honestly, A.Smith isn't too much better than Orton.

You are exactly right. I have watched Gabbert since he started and just can't believe how bad he is. I see him run 7 yards back and have plenty of time to throw the ball away and instead he just takes the sack. His passes are always off and he is just a horrible QB. Everyone started majorly jumping on the KC bandwagon because they beat Jacksonville and have a new coach and QB. We are better than KC, if we lose to them it will be because of poor play and or coaching.

The Chiefs, on paper, should be a very dominant team, because they have been picking in the top of the draft for several years now. As much as the Dallas Cowboys should be labeled "under achievers" realistically, the Kansas City Chiefs have been light years ahead of us in under achieving. Granted they haven't really had a great QB, but they gave up a second round pick for Cassell, didn't they? The knife cuts both ways.

Also, I am not sure why everyone thinks Charles is a better runner than Murray. I don't see it. If Waters turns out to be the real deal (like we all hope is) and the rest of the line stays healthy .... then Murray is going to have a big year. You heard it here first.
