These next three games will define Romo career

I doubt the next three games will define his career. If you're pro Romo, it won't, and if you're anti Romo, your assessment of him is pretty much cast in stone. What would change some perceptions is winning a Super Bowl, and even that wouldn't do it for some.

Romo doesn't have quite the supporting cast to even sniff a Super Bowl nor does he have the health, and I'm not a huge fan of his but I'm rational. He does however have enough to win a playoff game, maybe two with some help from the coaches. Things have to be perfect for us to get two wins in the postseason right now and I have a hard time seeing it at this point, too many holes.

Romo is a good QB but he's not great nor is he elite, if he was he'd have the skins on the wall. Elite QB's win multiple playoff games without much help but it takes a complete team to win a Super Bowl.. I don't believe Romo has ever had the supporting cast to win a Super Bowl but he has had the cast to win more playoff games than he has if he had just played better late in the season. So many great QB's have done more with less. More being winning playoff type games vs compiling stats for the math nerds.. Win or go home............

Go back and look at the Cowboys record under Danny White at the end of the regular season. They often lost games headed into the playoffs. That isn't on White alone, but he was the QB.

No they won't.

Right. These statements are made all year every year it seems lol. Like last week someone said if we don't beat the Eagirls our playoff chances are done. Granted, its a lot tougher now than if we would've won but still. Let things play out. Rome's career isn't defined by the next two games. Its not even the post season lol. Romo has had some great regular season games. At this point, his play in the post season is what will define him.

What Romo does the next 3 games isn't going to change anyone's perception of him or define his career unless this season ends with a SB win. His career has already been defined unless he wins a championship.

And yet, strangely, I'm more concerned with whether or not our defense will be able to contain that Philly offense this time.

I enjoy a lot of what Wood has to contribute at times, so I'll eventually read this.

But when he even utters the name Romo...with his long history of irrational negativity...I usually move on..
Wood has ZERO credibility discussing anything to do with Romo.

Zero.

I'm not sure if 2 SBs changes the narrative for Romo. The media likes banging on him and not sure if any of that will change.

Not I said the King,

I have often times compared this to Elway when he rode Terrell Davis to two superbowl wins!

Elway is an example of an Elite QB. He carried his team to countless playoff wins and Super Bowl appearances but it wasn't until he had a Complete Cast that he finally won those 2 Super Bowls. Still the fact remains, elite QB's still win in the postseason without much help...

So would Aikman have won in the playoffs without much help?

Tony's career has already been defined, and unfortunately for most fans it isn't in a positive way.

Nothing less than a Super Bowl win will change that.

Winning multiple championships would change a lot of things for Romo. If Eli didn't win those 2 SB's he probably would have been out of NY several years ago.

He's getting beat up a bit, but I'm not sure it's fair. I read the OP as saying he's giving Romo a chance to redeem himself in his eyes. The fact that most of us believe he had nothing to redeem is pretty obvious, but, hey, if Tony plays great, the defense holds up, and it ends up with Wood giving the guy another chance personally, that's a pretty good outcome.

As I said above, I have zero concern about Romo generally during this stretch. He's one of our best players at any position on the team. I worry about the defense's ability to contain the run and make Sanchez beat us. And I worry about the secondary's ability to not let Luck beat us, period. This offense as a whole will generally do it's part. It's the strength of the team. If it doesn't, we don't deserve to win, anyway.

Nah.... Not the same, the AFC was bunk back then.

Two of the next three games will be against opponents who absolutely shell shocked Romo (Philly & Washington). Both games will be played in their backyard. At a minimum Dallas has to win 2 of 3 to even entertain a playoff spot and probably needs to run table to win division. But more importantly.....Dallas has a chance this year. With Murray set to leave and Randle taking over next year we don't know how that will play out. Dallas might not be as effective on ground and may be forced to lean more on Romo - which we have found out does not go well. I really think this year, this moment is Romo best chance at playoff success. I am not even sure his body has another year in it.

Right now I have Romo slightly under Danny White because I feel White was better near and during post-season. Seasonal stats are meaningless to me. This is time of year all of those bad perceptions about Romo were born. If he wants to put all of that mess to bed it starts with Philly. 10 days for team to physically and mentally prepare. No excuses. I also think Dallas needs to come out throwing early in that game to establish some confidence and room to work. Then run Murray. But every eagle fan in stadium will be licking their chops as they see mentally wounded duck in Romo try to come into their home and deal with pickle juice drinking players and crazed fans who want to put the nail in coffin on Romo career. This is Romo chance to quiet all non believers. Its that simple.

I agree with most of your view. Mainly the part about our position this year (paraphrasing) and the two teams remaining have been Tony's road block, nemesis, pathway, etc. to redirecting the perception of him.

Didn't Romo, with playoff elimination on the line, on a back that would need surgery, lead a last minute come from behind 4th qtr road victory at Washington...just last year?

Oh. That doesn't count. He needs to prove it again to maybe be considered worthy.
Pathetic.
