Then we will get the explanation that we need to beef up the O line to take full advantage of all the highly paid talent we have at QB, RB and WR. Talk about your circular logic.

I’m not against picking a good olinemen in the first round... it’s my preference actually. Nothin grinds my gear than a weak oline.

I’m sure Jerry had the blessings of McCarthy, McClay and his scouts. He just needed one of his stupid stories that he loves to tell and his family were the only ones around him because of COVID.

Why he has to tell the world about every little thing that happens, I don’t know... but it is one of my biggest pet peeves about the guy.

I cannot understand the logic behind drafting blemished players. To hold on to unmotivated, weight dragging players, after they have been in the organization, is lunacy.

Im sure Ill get kicked out, suspended or something, but this forum has gone down hill over the past few years. Been here for 18 years and most the old members dont even post or comment much, others have left completely and now the forum has mods that Im not sure how they got the gig. Now that it's done, I want to see them capitalize on the Lamb pick by looking to extend Michael Gallup while trading Amari Cooper. I just feel the resources dedicated towards Cooper could be better sued elsewhere and Gallup would not be commanding Top 5 or 10 WR money. Then Dallas just requires a Beasley type slot WR and the WR corp is good for many years to come.

That's why you wait 3 years in most cases before you judge drafts.

I'm wondering who were some names that we should have been looking at on defense at that spot that would have done anything this year? The guy we were going to grab, Diggs, was there for us in the 2nd round and even with Diggs in that secondary, we still had one of the worst defenses in cowboys history, if not the worst.

The only thing I can think of is if the Cowboys theoretically picked Diggs in the 1st, they could have picked a safety in the 2nd. Jeremy Chinn, Ashtyn Davis, and Brandon Jones were safeties picked around then. But I would prefer Lamb to any of those.

I like Lamb too.

But to say BPA in the first round always is like saying "always buy the cheapest thing" or "always buy the most expensive thing". Its a nice little rule with virtuially no meaning.
If you want success you must accept that life is more complex and so are decissions.

Lamb is a good WR and he for sure impacted the game more than you could have expected from a rookie WR. For most it takes three years before they are able to shine like Lamb did.

Still we did not need a WR AND we had a lot of holes to fill at other positions. Just look how we started the season at DE.

Lamb scored 5 TDs this season and set a franchise rookie record for receiving and he did it playing with backup QBs most of the season. He greatly contributed to at least two of our wins, especially the come from behind win over the Falcons and drafting him was a mistake? lol

Had the Cowboys not drafted Lamb they would have likely drafted K’Lavon Chaisson. He only started 3 games for Jacksonville and had 12 tackles. We drafted an impact player who barring injury will end up being one of the best players the Cowboys have drafted in the past two decades. The biggest mistake we could have made was forcing a pick at 17 on defense on a player who didn’t warrant the draft position. A great player fell to us at 17 and we took him. Great move!
