They definitely are what I thought they were **MERGE**

It's just such a game of inches.

If that punt doesn't hit the goalline, Crayton's TD return counts... we win.

If Spencer picks off that pass that instead became a Denver TD... we win.

If Newman, who was in good position, played the ball a little better on the Brandon Marshall TD... we win.

If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

Oh be quiet with the Shill talk.

Sometimes people just don't live and die with a win or loss by the Cowboys.

A person can recognize a team's failures and weakness without ALWAYS pointing it out or dwelling on it. It doesn't make you less of a fan or a shill to hope they turn it around versus bemoaning the failures. And trust, I KNOW there have been a ton of failures.

You're the widow in a broken down household. You keep this place together:bow:

Sadly, they are... The more important issue is, what can be done to change this seemingly insurmountable tide of bad endings for this team... Do you have any input regarding improvement or are you just here to tell me everything will be peaches and roses?

we have identical records...

Please excuse me while I :ralph:

Sorry all wins are not created equal and neither are losses. Losing to a vastly improved team that happens to be 3-0 versus a team that had not won a game in so long I could not begin to tell you when it was.

Good try at a call out thread though, but I disagree. Plus, it is always funny when a rival team sucks no matter the situation.

Um, don't tell me how to think or post. It's terribly rude.

Sometimes people just don't live and die with a win or loss by the Cowboys.

And some people bend over backwards to protect the team or the front office from any and all criticism. Even after a gutless, devastating loss like today's, they still can't do it. If not now, then when? Probably never. That's the very definition of "shilldom."

Bullcrap. The usual suspects have been carrying water for Jerry and his minions for years. Pity you can't (won't?) recognize this.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game because I had to work, but I know the Cowboys and Broncos were tied and the defense blew it again. Tony Romo led us down the field and on 4th and goal, there was a missed opportunity. What this team lacks in consistency. Now, the roof isn't falling quite yet, but the team is far removed from the 13-3 season a couple of years ago but I think that Romo is showing signs of life. Leading the team down the field in under two minutes is not an easy feat. With that being said, a 10-0 lead was compromised and the game was lost again. Hopefully they get it right, if not, it will be an up and down season.

What "shills" are you referring to? Who pumped sunshine after today's loss?

Anyone who doesn't jump ship after a loss is a "shill."

Real fans react to a loss by making up stuff about how terrible their whole team is and always has been. None of that sunshine stuff allowed. Just pitch black darkness and misery.

The bottom line is coaching is king in the NFL. Sure they like to say it's not the X's and the O's it' s the jimmy's and the joe's in COLLEGE football. But in the NFL the talent level is SO close IMO that coaching is critical: we have one of the worst: that's a fact: we'll continue to see that the rest of the season and hope and pray JJ sobers up: literally and steps aside for a man who can lead on the field and he won't interfere. Hope always springs eternal I guess..........

Mod(s)... Feel free to change the I to we in the thread title if it will make the rosy pictured folks happy... I don't want to be responsible for surgical underwear removal bills.

This game boiled down to the luckiest of two sloppy teams. Embarrassing to watch as a fan of either team really.

I was referring to my post in the expectation thread. I want a playoff win. I'm not going to live or die based on how they achieve it. I also can recognize the failures in every game.

Bleu Star;2990489 said:
Those that bemoans the failures can also hope they turn it around. They just might see a turnaround differently than others. Some might see a turnaround as getting some players back healthy while I (the bemoaner) might see a turnaround as getting rid of the ridiculous space filler we call a head coach.
I'm not saying you're a bemoaner. My point is a person doesn't have to be a shill simply because they're in the glass half-full crowd.

After EVERY game (win or lose), we get thread after thread calling people whiners, crybabies, shills, and homers. Goodness, when does it end?

While I agree with some of what you say, there is the brick wall theory also.
You can only run into it sooooooo many times ya know. ;)
Oh absolutely. During the 5-11 era, I NEVER thought the Cowboys would do anything. I certainly hoped for success.

Since 2003, this team has shown an amazing number of ways to lose. big games, small games. It didn't matter.

I've learned not to even get too hype about a win or loss. Some games I expect more of a win than others, but if it's close, then I don't even bother trying to predict the outcome.

We have to be emo?

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh smithy.....you need to watch a DVR of the game: romo was brutal. If he would've done his job, just a LITTLE bit, the defense wouldn't have been put in that position: that's safe to say.....

Is it panic, or is it simply acceptance that the Cowboys seem to be a .500 team?

Its like Norm said on the postgame after the loss to the Giants, "the hardest thing for fans to accept is that maybe their team is just not that good".

Maybe Dallas is just not that good, maybe they really are just a .500 team???

We can't do anything about the head coach and coordinators this season that'll help more than it'll hurt so fughidaboutit.

I'm more optimistic by nature so I'll always shade that way. I really just hope we get the win next week and make it to the bye because we should get some reinforcements and more importantly, make some strategic adjustments both on offense and defense.

Offensively, I think we have to get our WRs more involved in the game with the play calls and other things. I noticed Miles in there a couple of times with Roy and I think we need to feature him more to get that speed threat there and take our shots down the field.

I think our running game will be explosive again when we get Felix and Barber back healthy after the bye.

Defensively, even the most pessimistic posters can see some promise there. Even when they caught passes today, Jenkins (who played a terrific game btw-and Scandrick must have as well because we never heard his name called) and Newman were all over them. On the backbreaking play, Newman was in the mix too and like he said after the game, he was grabbed by the Jersey.

We didn't stop the run as well as I thought we would so we still need some work.

The one thing I'll do, though, is replace Hamlin at FS to send a message and get some extra boost. That won't happen anytime soon though with Sensebaugh being out.

Actually, I think it's just as rude to refer to people as shills.

Bending over backwards to criticize all the time is better?

And the biggest question I have is who is protecting this team from criticism. If you can logically criticize, then I'm all for it. But you and I both know some of these posts by people after a loss can be off the wall.

Bullcrap. The usual suspects have been carrying water for Jerry and his minions for years. Pity you can't (won't?) recognize this.
Oh I know who supports him and doesn't, but what that has to do with anything, I don't know.

Just a throwaway comment? Cuz I don't even know the point of it.

Good input.. Thanks. I would like to see what a typical Cowboys practice is like because they seem to come up short in the preparation department quite often.

I love how you guys can keep a level head amidst whatever this is. Kudos to you. Wish I could...

They can't really, don't let them fool you. After every loss they vent their own frustrations by partrolling the boards and ridiculing the people that are overacting. The Over Reacters vs the Under Reactors is a majestic dance I always enjoy watching around here post-game.
