They thought Rodgers might practice today; it didn't happen

Me too...he doesn't need too much practice unfortunately. I will say this: I look for him to throw VERY short, controlled routes with a 1-3 step drop. That's what he did vs. Detroit because that calf doesn't allow him to throw deep. I think Rod knows this and will play very tight bump and run coverage and make him prove he can go over the top. They might go some shotgun too which they never normally do to my knowledge. This would help his calf in not having to drop back.
So basically do what every team who has moved the ball against the Cowboys for the last 5 years does?

Regardless of the condition of Rodgers' leg, our D needs to get after him and stay after him if we're going to win this game. We may very well have an edge in the 4th quarter due to aggressive rotation of DL, but we need to keep it close until then. The Boys aren't going to stomp on his leg, but I'm positive they are going to give him every opportunity to put it to the test. I watched the Lions/Packers NFL Rewind from last week last night, and the first time Rodgers tried to move quickly out of pressure rather than just jog along, his calf gave out and he went down. I also noticed he is still a top 5 QB while just hobbling around out there.:(

Green Bay --- The Packers evaluated Aaron Rodgers' calf Wednesday and apparently are not ready to give the quarterback the go-ahead to practice quite yet. Coach Mike McCarthy originally said the team hoped to get him back to practice Thursday.

Rodgers, who said this week he's not worried about a lack of practice reps, was not present in the portion of practice open to reporters Wednesday. Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien got the quarterback reps.

What are the chances he comes out flat?

I see this as being nothing but an excuse if the Packers lose. It's all you will hear for a week 'if they had a healthy Rodgers what would have happened?'.

I don't think it matters very much. He's going to be good to go on Sunday.

just setting up the narrative so if he comes out and goes 30/31, 351 yds, and 4TDs 0 INT and GB wins, the media can have their national circle jerk over how he overcame insurmountable odds and "ZOMG WHAT A WARRIOR!! MY HEAD IS EXPLODING!!!"

Romo laughs at Rodgers' torn labia.. i mean calf

Would anyone feel good about Romo not practicing at all for two weeks?

Listen this need to practice crap is insane, at this level NFL players by practicing provides very little benefit. Do you think that by not practicing for 2 weeks that Rodgers is going to stink up the joint on Sunday and forget how to play?

Huh? Teams killed us for a number of those years by throwing it deep and laughing as our safeties chased the wrong guys and tripped all over themselves

I expect Rodgers to play and to play well.

And if he does, talking heads will go on and on about it even though our QB has been playing through back problems all year long. Be nice if they acknowledge that as well whether we win or lose.

I mean yea, there has been that...but the bigger problem has always been our inability to stop short quick passes, imo. Eli, namely, has feasted on Dallas doing that.

It's the same thing as us resting tony on Wednesdays. He'll be ready to go and play well against us.
