They thought Rodgers might practice today; it didn't happen

Honestly, I expect us to take him OUT!

and I dont mean to dinner.

,,, and it will be a deceptive strike, Brent and Hayden will chase him, just slow enough that they'll never catch Rodgers but just fast enough to make him strain his calf. :)

I fully expect GB to lean on their running game if they can and limit Rodgers.

Yeah.. Like against Detroit. :)

For it to give out like that... He ain't near 100%

It's prob 50-50 that he makes through game.

Keep Rodgers on the bench with some long sustained does early and watch that calf tighten up quick

This is all a smokescreen.

He really wasn't that bad when he returned in the Detroit game and that was two weeks ago.

Oh, he was great, but he was infinitely hampered by the injury. Couldn't step into his throws, was slow on handoffs, and certainly could not move around in the pocket. I marveled at the velocity he had on his throws while standing flat-footed.

Rodgers is a great QB in large part because he is great at multiple dimensions. The calif injury, in my opinion, will undoubtedly remove one of those dimensions (mobility) from his repertoire on Sunday. In theory, that makes the daunting task of defending him somewhat easier. Still, it's kind of like Romo with the bad back. Rodgers is great enough to overcome not being that mobile.

Rogers' injury will be a non factor in the game.

We'll see when Crawford gets through the middle and in his face, Mincey too. The cold weather will not help that calf.

I'm not saying Rodgers won't play well, but he will not be his usual self. The Cowboys will have to stop Lacey.

He was when he came back in to beat Detroit, Not 100% but he did lead his team to victory. Much like Romo all season.
This should be fun to watch, two of the NFLs best QBs.

The key to this game is to keep it tight. We can't afford to get too far behind too early and we have to contain Lacy and force Rodgers into using those legs. We need to slowly wear him down. Somehow, someway the Boys need to find their pass rush. The CB's need to press the WR's to avoid the quick pass and give the DL some time to penetrate. Another factor is going to be the kicking game. Cold air is more dense and can easily cut a kicker's range down 10 yards. We have the advantage in the kicking game but any drive falling short of the opponent's 30 yard line is by no means a given; even for Bailey. Sustaining drives and getting into the red zone will be paramount. Special Teams will play a big part. We need to make them go a long way if they're gonna score. As the game goes on and these guys get tired and miserable, the potential for turnovers is going to increase. Longer field, more potential for turnovers. If we keep it close, and get mad dog crazy about finishing this fight, I feel pretty good about our chances, especially in the 4th quarter. But we have to make Rodgers work those legs!

Rogers will be fine. I expect to see a lot of runs, short screens and quick passes.

Actually, the Packers said yesterday that Rodgers would be re-evaluated on Wednesday and would not practice before Thursday at the earliest.

I think he will play but will have pretty limited mobility. This article just posted has some quotes that make me really think he's not sure what he's gonna have to scramble around on. Call it smokescreen or whatever if you want, but he seems like a fairly honest guy and "We'll see..." when asked if he can do what he normally can doesn't scream of confidence. Muscle heating up and cooling won't help for sure. I think this is a bigger deal than we dare admit.

The problem Rodgers may have is re-aggravating the injury like he did against the Lions. It's one thing to play through pain when an injury won't get any worse, but it's another to play through pain when you may tweak the injury or possibly make it worse.

I think they'd probably prefer him to actually practice, than to have him sit out practice as a smoke screen.

First sack, go low, take the 15 yard penalty and get him out of the game.

Of course his backup beat us last year but still, I would rather face Flynn than the insurance guy
