Things we wish were true but aren’t

• Zeke is still an effective NFL starting RB.
• The Cowboys have a top 10 OL.
• Tyron Smith still has enough left to keep him as our starting LT. (He hasn’t played a full season since 2015 and has missed 32 games since then)

I believe Zeke is still a top 10 RB.

The problem is a different wish that isn;t true:

"Kellen Moore is an OC genius".

He's a bumbling fool when it come to our run game. Zeke is most effected by it. He never will be 2016 Zeke....that would be hard to do even without his wear and tear. Still in top 10...IF we make a commitment to the run. Including fresh consistent o-linemen, better design, and fewer penalties.

Look at it this way. We all need something to complain about and this serves that purpose. Chances are you won't see "been married to the same degenerate for 26 years".

Another thing we wish were true, but not necessarily false: Once Jerry passes, things will get better. However, I believe Stephen is worse than his father...so most likely, more of the same ole same ole.

I don’t believe Son will run Cowboys Football with the same role as Daddy needing to be accountable to his equal partner siblings and why I expect them to sell or hire in football executives like other franchises.

Whether we’ll have more success or not is left to be seen but it won’t be the same dysfunctional organization and circus .

As fans, we all from time to time have to suspend logic and evidence in order to “believe”. In fact, just being a fan (aka “fanatic”) makes us vulnerable to false hopes and evidence that is contrary to our hope.

Here is a list of things we wish were true but sadly aren’t:

• The Cowboys are just victims of bad luck- this year, and the previous 25 before that. But actually, as Jimmy used to emphasize, teams make their own luck.

• Our players should be willing to take a “hometown discount”. We love the idea that a Cowboys player loves the game and the fans here enough to take less money. Pipe dream. And we should never expect a man to take less money than he could get elsewhere.

• Our front office just needs to hire the right coach- like Sean Payton- and that will fix us- since our last great playoff run we’ve already had 6 different HCs, 7 different OCs, 8 different DCs, over 70 different assistant coaches…one 1 GM. It’s more than a HC issue.

• The refs are a part of a vast NFL conspiracy to keep the Cowboys from success- Our society is always fascinated with some crazy conspiracy that helps us avoid things we don’t want to be true. The NFL can’t even define a catch or pass interference, and we’re supposed to believe they can hold a conspiracy like this together, lol? The truth is this 2021 Cowboys team was undisciplined and paid the price with penalty flags.

There are of course more than on this list. Any others?

I don't approve of the verbiage "vast NFL conspiracy " against the Cowboys.

It doesn't have to be" vast.".
I find it odd how many big plays get called back. Now...I can't say how that compares to other teams for sure....as of course I'm a fanatical viewer of us and casual viewer of the rest of the league.
I also won't claim it's proof of "vast conspiracy".
What I do think is Godell has/had a fued with Jerry. I think Zeke's 2017 suspension was completely out of line and overstepping. Police dropped their investigation, the person was proved a liar and also tried to get others to lie. His own female investigater recommended no further action.
But issued a 6 game suspension, after a solid 2016. And poised to make a solid run?
Can't tell me that wasn't a personal power move against jerry. His superstar prize player removed for nearly half a season.

Why wouldn't that attitude permeate or bubble through? Either by discreet decree or corporate atmosphere?
At the end of the day, I don't blame our woes all on that. Just something that doesn't sit right with me.

I’m a casual viewer of other teams games and still recognize there are a lot of bad/missed calls throughout and during every game. Think it’s come to a point where you can’t realistically believe a seven aging/ physically declining men can keep up with the athletic level today’s NFL players are at!

….they pass protected pretty well but just like their Qb, they got pummeled against better defenses. The run blocking pretty much was overwhelmed even against crap teams….it needs help
