Sure. But it's not unreasonable for fans to express their disapproval.

I also disagree with saying, "life is unfair," as regards evaluating someone's decisions. It's not like we're talking about an act of God here.

The disapproval is of the owners, not Goodell.

It is reasonable, sure, but the reasonable would come w/ putting the blame where it belongs, on the owners.

I actually did not put this down to life is unfair. It's more like fairness is not part of the equation.

Of course not. I havent been happy with every decision either. But I get why they’re doing it.

Remember beyond the image issues with Networks and Sponsors they also have to be concerned about Congress ever getting involved and why all of the rule changes to protect players from concussions.

Congress could take away their Anti Trust protection which enables them to not only operate as a non profit organization but provides them to basically operate as a monopoly paving the way for their exclusive TV rights.

As with any multi billion dollar business. Follow the money trail.

As fans, we all from time to time have to suspend logic and evidence in order to “believe”. In fact, just being a fan (aka “fanatic”) makes us vulnerable to false hopes and evidence that is contrary to our hope.

Here is a list of things we wish were true but sadly aren’t:

• The Cowboys are just victims of bad luck- this year, and the previous 25 before that. But actually, as Jimmy used to emphasize, teams make their own luck.

• Our players should be willing to take a “hometown discount”. We love the idea that a Cowboys player loves the game and the fans here enough to take less money. Pipe dream. And we should never expect a man to take less money than he could get elsewhere.

• Our front office just needs to hire the right coach- like Sean Payton- and that will fix us- since our last great playoff run we’ve already had 6 different HCs, 7 different OCs, 8 different DCs, over 70 different assistant coaches…one 1 GM. It’s more than a HC issue.

• The refs are a part of a vast NFL conspiracy to keep the Cowboys from success- Our society is always fascinated with some crazy conspiracy that helps us avoid things we don’t want to be true. The NFL can’t even define a catch or pass interference, and we’re supposed to believe they can hold a conspiracy like this together, lol? The truth is this 2021 Cowboys team was undisciplined and paid the price with penalty flags.

There are of course more than on this list. Any others?

Goodell's responsibility is to keep the revenue coming in. Period. He has no responsibility to fairness or any other emotion. It's simply about the dollars.

He's also in charge of discipline nor above criticism in that responsibility. I don't get why you guys shield him from it.

There are more Cowboys fans than any other team in the NFL.

There's not. The Cowboys have become what is called a Mythos. Something great that once was and may come again one day. Kind of like King Arthur and Excalibur. So when it looks like they may do something, everyone wants to get on board with it to ride the self-centered wave. But beyond that.

He’s protecting the other 99% players from the 1% problem incidents while keeping the money rolling in from sponsors who might not be as receptive if it’s problem players turned off customers of their Product with association with NFL. Same is true for the Networks.

In the end most owners aren’t going to police themselves. And they don’t want to take the heat from fans if they did. So let’s hire someone to take the heat so we can present a perception we care so the money train keeps rolling.

Saying he's inconsistent in his punishment has literally nothing to do with, "the bigger picture." People bring it up, say they don't like it, and you guys change the subject. Every. Single. Time.
