The Panthers are a mess and no QB would thrive or succeed in that organization. Bryce isn't the problem
are you kidding? dude cannot read a defense,is wildly inaccurate and very very error prone.

More than several NFL starting QB's would have to get hurt in the next few weeks in order for someone to make a desperation phone call to Jerruh about Trey Lance.

Lance is definitely physically talented but in need of pro football remedial learning classes to catch up at the position. Do the Cowboys have the patience and time to continue nurturing him? Trading and getting something of value in return right now might be a big expectation.

Jerry needs to swallow his pride, take the loss and shop Trey Lance around. Yes, someone like the Panthers, Packers and a few other teams could seriously consider trading for Lance. If the Cowboys could get a 3rd round pick for Lance, that would be great for both parties.
See you were okay until you said a 3rd. No one is trading a 3rd round pick for a 3rd string QB. You are at best getting a conditional 7th based on playtime.

True, but some teams might get very desperate, thus enable Jerry to squeeze as much out of a trade.

If and when the Cowboys get someone or something in trade for Trey Lance in 2024, we aren't likely to attain anything of significant value. We're likely better off to see how effectively we'll manage to develop him, in hopes of eventually getting a worthwhile return for his services. Perhaps he'd even be worth keeping as a backup QB, assuming his progress might be sufficiently impressive. He does have potential, but it will surely take time.

I mean or those GMs just call someone else and offer a 5th or 6th for their backup QB. We already saw teams do this last year.

It doesn't look like Bryce Young is going to workout in Carolina. You think they would take a chance in trading for Lance, who is bigger and stronger, than Bryce if they cut ties with him. I see how fast Pittsburgh got rid of Pickett and are giving fields a shot. Also, I think that if Cleveland has a bad year, they will eat the money they gave Watson, and might be up for a trade. Just a couple of thought
Their #1 QB isnt working out, why would they want a #3 that isnt working out?

Dear lad, no one would be that desperate. Only the Cowboys would be dumb enough to sign him and only the Raiders would be dumb enough to take him off our hands.

Why would a team trade a 3rd for Lance when he has shown even less since being traded for a 4th?

The Cowboys could probably get a 2027 conditional 7th rounder for him.

Yeah, his coaching has been fantastic and he was thrown into a perfect situation as a rookie. You want to dump him based on a poor body of evidence and an organization incapable of developing a team to compete. It's a bit early to give up on the guy after 1 year, geezus.

Carolina has a top 3 worst roster in the league. They don't make the playoffs if Patrick Mahomes is the QB. Might not even win 5 games.

The Jets might be dumb enough.
They are going nowhere with geriatric Erin Rogers.

If an NFL team doesn't offer the Cowboys at least a 6th or 7th for Trey Lance, then that's a sign of how bleak his future in the NFL as a QB is looking. Also if he is still on the roster around this time next year, then he will most likely get cut if he can't beat out Cooper Rush for the back up job.
