Think the NFL schedules Dallas to play in Philly for the season opener?

Gonna have to disagree with that. The SB viewer numbers I think would also counter that. They have stars, and a national presence in that fanbase. I hate them with a passion, but they're no Tennessee Titans.
I dont buy those ratings at all. No way this debacle outdrew last years ot classic.

They will want the champions to play in a game that is competitive to start the season.

In their mind, that eliminates the Cowboys who will probably start with the Giants again.......at noon on Sunday.

They have a movie based on a walk-on player that made the team back in 1976, Vince Papale. I don't know of a movie that is based on a Dallas Cowboy. The move, North Dallas Forty, is loosely based on the team. The movie is based on a book written by Cowboys receive Pete Gent.

Ironically, it was Papale's birthday on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Eagles are well known around the country and their fans have a particular reputation as well.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go wash my hands.

Hopefully! Tired of seeing the Cowboys being beaten on prime time!

Rather see them get embarrassed on a regular noontime game when less people are watching.

i'm almost persuaded it'll be the giants.
because its almost always the giants.
i'd hate to open the season in philly.
that place will be jacked...specially when they hoist their stupid banner.

Not mad at that. A point could definitely be made. There are certainly ways to skew the numbers. Doesn't change my original assertion that the Eagles are one of the most in demand teams on network tv. I shudder to think how many prime-time games they'll get next year.

Are the Tenn Titans in the SE Conf ? I mean they haven’t been relevant since Eddie George and Steve McNair ,

Any given Sunday. Imagine the hype if we upset the Eagles on the opening game of the season!

Ya a reputation as dbags. Im a Syracuse fan we have a movie the Express about Ernie Davis. Is it because we are one of the most recognized football programs? Nope it was a good story.

You guys think the NFL schedules Dallas to play in Philly for the Thursday night season opener?
Other candidates to play against Philly may be Detroit or Washington.
LOL. The jaguars have a better shot.

I hope not. Getting embarrassed on national TV to start a new HC‘s tenure is not what I would recommend. Plus we haven’t earned the national spotlight. Philly and Wash do deserve it.
No No , let's just take our medicine week 1. I'd rather get Philly early coming off a Super Bowl swoon. It's our best shot and Dak usually peaks in September.

Can you imagine if we start the season getting absolutely bent over with extreme prejudice by Philly on the night they get their rings? That's a pass for me.

Philly going to LA to play the Rams opening night would draw viewers. Let McVay have the off season to cook up a game plan on his turf this time .
That game is literally not even an option for the NFL. SB winner always opens the season playing at home

I can almost guarantee it will be Philly vs Detroit in Game 1....as it was the NFC matchup most football fans wanted to see and assumed they'd see in the NFCCG

They won't do WASH because we just saw that, and also because they like to save those prime division games for Nov and Dec.

Maybe…but sometimes they like to have the new ‘up and coming’ team from the year before (like the Lions @ Chiefs in 2023). I could see it being Denver. I could also see it being Chicago… Not because they were good, but because of Ben Johnson.

The Commish loves it every time the Cowboys and the Jones clan are on the wrong end of a good beatdown, and this game will be one of those games where the Boys are going to get embarrassed in front of a national telecast..............
