If our defense is for real its going to be a great season.

Giants were a Superbowl pick by many but the media is mostly New Yorkers who love the Giants so you have to take their prediction with a grain of salt.

It does look like we got better though. It's only 1 game and the defenses were better then the offenses all throughout the NFL so we will see how it holds up.

IMO, and I've said this all along, we will be a different defense in November then we are week 1.

Barring good health

Watch the play at 3:50 :omg:when's the last time we had a defense hitting like that? Sounds/looks like Seattle (no hyperbole). Chido a dog with the physicality as well. I love Will Mclay

And For the Taco haters, he got held on the very next play in the video. Patience

Thanks for putting that together. Go Cowboys

Well, declaring it is real is different than saying they had a good outing, and I'm cautiously optimistic. :)

Depends on what for real means? Is for real a top 5 defense? I would not make that claim at this stage. What I did see for real was a vast improvement in terms of getting pretty consistent pressure and sacks and of a young secondary avoiding blown coverages and closing quickly on WR and making plays.

Fellas, tap the breaks. We just played a team with the worst O line in the league and without its best player.., the D played great. But let's wait to see how the revamped secondary performs when it has to cover an extra second or two and has to play more than 53 plays.

For me I don't need to tap breaks, 1st of all I'm not making the defense out to be the 85 Bears. I went in as many others not know what to expect out of this defense and in this game they stepped up and played big. Most prediction were showing NY with a lot more than 3 points. So for me it is just giving credit where credit is due instead of down playing it as no big deal. I think the defense went out and played a very good game and should be proud of it.

Next game for them will be a challenge, Denver shows balance in their attack and are more than willing to run the ball so Cowboys can't sell out on the pass and defense will need to stay disciplined or else Anderson will have a big day on them also have to be aware of Charles. Siemian looks like a guy who will make mistakes if you can get pressure on him so winning early downs and putting Denver in longer yardage situation will be very important for the defense

Holding any team in the NFL to 3 is hard, holding a team from even crossing the 50 yard line (NY crossed the 50 2 times) is hard. NFL rules favor offense so when a defense can come in a play to the level this defense did that is a very good accomplishment. Sure there will be a lot bigger challenges this team and this defense will face and they are not going to hold top offense to 3 points but this defense made plays out there, they did not play bend but don't break defense. They do deserve credit in this win vs NY. Some fans are acting as if what they did is easy it is not. I would think any fan would appreciate the fight and effort these guys showed. I guess is it just better to blast them than to give them credit.
I don't think bend don't break means what you think it means...

Eli hasn't been in HoF form for several season and with OBJ sidelined, who are the playmakers they are newly flush with? Your claims don't match reality and you don't have to exaggerate like that to be kind to our D. Our boys did good and like I've already said and some of you missed, "they should be proud of what they did".

Shepard, Marshall, Engram, all the new tight ends that were going to open up their running game. This and the idea that Eli is a Hall of Famer are not my opinions. These are the opinions of the "experts" in the media. The Giants had loaded up on talent in the off-season, bringing in a bunch of free agents and drafting a hotshot overgrown wide receiver and with their impenetrable defense were set to dominate the division. Of course, now that the lowly Dallas defense has shut them down, opinions are a little different. Funny how that works.
