This Denver game will be closer than some expect

Neither of those two will happen...ESPN's favorite phrase for stats, "on pace"

Probably not but the Cowboys have a better chance of giving up 40 TD passes than Peyton throwing 64 TD's.

So the game will be closer than we think???? Does that mean Denver wins by 20 instead of 30+???;)

Actually we could come out and win this game. We have the talent to do it if they are motivated properly. Garrett has not shown himself to be a good motivator at all, but the team could be motivated by players standing up to be leaders as witnessed by Hatcher's speech before the Rams game. The problem is without consistent motivation we will have another .500 season.

It seems as though, when ppl and even some fans count them out, the cowboys rise to the occasion only to lose in the 4th quarter in heartbreaking fashion.

Rising to the occasion would be winning, a close loss is still a loss

Or they will have a triumphant victory only to put on a clown show against Washington. Either way, seen it too many times.

This is exactly the kind of game the Cowboys usually win..Underdogs against a team everyone guarantees them to lose to.They come out and win, then have a disappointing loss the next week.

Not this time.

Sadly it will come down to our games against the skins and eagles.

This game has upset written all over it. Denver is a good team but not what the media is making them out to be. Until they beat the elite in the NFL I will not be persuaded by them. Cupcake schedule. Come playoff time they are done.

agree. it's going to be closer then most think. I think we are within 100 points of Denver.

The Cowboys are bi-polar. Lately, we have been playing to the level of our competition unless it is the final game of the season in a do or die situation...I think we're going to win this game.

I'm sure I can expect to be beat about the head and neck for showing a little optimism around here right now, and I'll admit that I've been pretty down on the Cowboys myself after their poor showing against San Diego. However, I actually wonder a little bit whether the Broncos are really as good as people say they are. I'm not saying they're not good. I'm not even saying they're not one of the best teams in the league. However, you'd think they were the best team ever created if you watch the media coverage of them right now. What catches my eye is who they've played so far:

Baltimore -- Not a good team
Giants -- A terrible team
Oakland -- Not a good team
Eagles -- A terrible team

Yes, I understand that the Broncs destroyed each of these teams, but do you think Dallas would be 2-2 if they played this schedule? I don't.

To me, if the Cowboys play defense, offense, and special teams more like they played against New York and St. Louis and less like they played against Kansas City and San Diego, Dallas might have at least a slim chance of winning this game and will at minimum keep it close. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Chiefs and Chargers games were away games played in pretty hostile atmospheres (Kansas City more so than San Diego, I'll grant you) while this Denver game is going to be played in Dallas ... where the Cowboys played good football against the Giants and Rams.

...just some stuff to think about...

Even homer Mickey is picking the Broncos.

That should tell you how good our chances are this Sunday.

So, there's obviously some dispute over just how bad Denver's opponents have been. Let's discuss a question I asked in the OP -- if Dallas played Denver's schedule, would they be 2-2? Honestly, if Dallas played Baltimore (in Dallas), Philly, Oakland, and the Giants this season and wasn't 4-0 ... I'd be a little disappointed. We only have one common opponent and both teams beat them handily.
We have beat the Rams and (barely) the winless Giants.

I dont think we are in a position to be questioning anybodys quality of wins at this point.
