Did we really play that great against New York? New York did everything in their power to shoot themselves in the foot with an array of turnovers and yet still nearly won the game because we couldn't put them away. And in that game although the defense got plenty of turnovers, the pass defense was being shredded. Much as it was against San Diego.

Dallas won by five. The only reason it wasn't a 12-point win was that Dallas let the Giants score their last touchdown but made them run out the clock to do it. It was a trash time touchdown. The game was over at that point.

I think it should be a decent game.
I would take the over (55) though.

Thought is was funny how the OP described Denver's opponent's....calling Oakland a "not very good" team, yet calling Philly a "terrible" team. lol
Go Cowboys

I do think Dallas would probably be at least 3-1 if they had played Denver's schedule so far. It's all hypothetical though.
In any case, they would not be beating those teams by 20-30 pts each time.

This is exactly the kind of game the Cowboys usually win..Underdogs against a team everyone guarantees them to lose to.They come out and win, then have a disappointing loss the next week.

I just looked it up. The Broncos beat the Giants by 18 points. That's winning handily.

We won by 5. Not so much.

I remember thinking after that game our defense was going to be terrific.

You do realize it was only 30-24 in the fourth quarter before Eli threw a pick 6? The turnovers were their downfall and despite a half dozen turnovers they still kept it close and shredded our pass defense. 450 yards and 4 touchdowns. And to this point in the season we've allowed QB ratings of 102.3, 95, and 108.6.

Believe what you want, but in my opinion we haven't played great this season. Not by a long shot. The only game I would consider a good performance was against St Louis.

Cowboys -- A mediocre team that's on pace to give up 40 TD passes vs a QB who's on pace to throw 64 TD's.

Perfect "trap game" set up. Denver expected to destroy us. But! They're coming into OUR house where we have like a 17 point home field advantage :D:rolleyes:

Philly loses to both KC and SD. Beat the Commanders but lose to Denver, putting them at 1-3 and they're a "terrible team".

Dallas loses to both KC and SD. Beat the Giants and beat St. Louis, getting to 2-2 but Dallas isn't a "terrible team".

Both are playing bad football right now. Dallas may be the better team but no one should feel confident enough to say so.

If this matter to anyone, the Broncos played 3 of their 4 games @ home.

They struggled in the road game they played. It took them 3 quarters to score 17 points and it was Eli interception that basically sealed the game for the Broncos.

There is a possibility they may struggle againagainst the Cowboys.

My honest concern is that we haven't seen what the Broncos can do for a full game because they take their foot off the gas due to blowing their opponents out of the water. Manning didn't even play the 4th quarter the last game. If they were playing it like the 2007 Patriots they would be annihilating teams. Dallas needs to bring more than that weak sauce effort they put on against the Chargers or it will be blow-out city.

Denver, 35-31.

This will be close if the offense doesn't start turning it over.

I've heard all that but 4th quarter points count the same as any other quarter. They ended up winning by almost 3 td's.

The Eli gift is similar to our game against the Giants. He's sure been in a giving mood this season.

The Cowboys are going to have issues with Philly's speed and fast pace offense. With Vick in the lineup the Cowboys don't match up well with Philly we've seen that in the past. They have speed to burn at the skill positions and if you get caught out of position on defense which happens to the Cowboys frequently Philly is capable of putting up a lot of points.

Yeah they all count the same. I believe that the running game for the Giants weren't that good. Maybe the key is to run the football well against them.

You're so right. If we don't control the ball with at least some semblance of a running game I think we'll be in trouble.

No way! From what I read on here; Romo sux, Garret is clueless, DWare, Witten need to go and Claiborne sux. How do we stand a chance? :)

I absolutely agree we have a good chance pulling this one out. I believe in my team even after a loss. I don't develop negative Nancy syndrome like some on here.

I cannot find a pill for my Negative Nancy syndrome. Aspirin does not work & I don't drink.

I actually admire your optimism.

I'm sure I can expect to be beat about the head and neck for showing a little optimism around here right now, and I'll admit that I've been pretty down on the Cowboys myself after their poor showing against San Diego. However, I actually wonder a little bit whether the Broncos are really as good as people say they are. I'm not saying they're not good. I'm not even saying they're not one of the best teams in the league. However, you'd think they were the best team ever created if you watch the media coverage of them right now. What catches my eye is who they've played so far:

Baltimore -- Not a good team
Giants -- A terrible team
Oakland -- Not a good team
Eagles -- A terrible team

Yes, I understand that the Broncs destroyed each of these teams, but do you think Dallas would be 2-2 if they played this schedule? I don't.

To me, if the Cowboys play defense, offense, and special teams more like they played against New York and St. Louis and less like they played against Kansas City and San Diego, Dallas might have at least a slim chance of winning this game and will at minimum keep it close. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Chiefs and Chargers games were away games played in pretty hostile atmospheres (Kansas City more so than San Diego, I'll grant you) while this Denver game is going to be played in Dallas ... where the Cowboys played good football against the Giants and Rams.

...just some stuff to think about...

and what has our offense done to give you the confidence? we got 6 TOs and 14 points from the defense against the giants, yet. they stayed in it until the end....same giants team you just trashed. KC took care of us. and SD just spanked us. we have managed to beat a very bad team at home.

our defense is in shambles. two starters got benched. our offense is steadily getting worse. and you expect us to be close!!!! because denver has destroyed 4 bad teams. isn't that what you are suppose to do when you are a good team?

and what separates us from oakland? Baltimore?
