This Eagles win was a blessing in disguise

I wanted us to be coming off a loss when facing the eagles or them winning their last game to increase the chances of us winning

If we lost to GB we would be more focused when playing the eagles

Now that the eagles won It softens the edge they will have because they are coming off a win


Now let's say they had lost and fell to 3-3, they would have been a 7 or 8 pt underdog coming into dallas on top of the cowboys not taking them seriously since they would not Won a game in over a month.

Now the cowboys have to take them seriously because

1. They just beat a 5-0 vikings team
2. They are one game back in the nfc east

Since they got a W a win puts them in a first place tie with us, but would bump is to a wild card spot due to tie breakers. That's not good.

I dont get this logic :huh:. If they lost today and beat us because we over-looked them, we would still be in 1st place and go on to play a very winnable game vs the Browns. They go to NYG which will be a win/win for us regardless

Ya, I agree. Then we'll lay some reality on them in the form of Elliott, Prescott and that offensive line.
 
There is never anything good about a Cowboys rival winning any game.....unless it's versus another NFC East rival.
Every loss by the NFC East helps us more than a win.
 
If any player or coach in the NFL isn't giving 100% each and every game, they don't belong in the NFL. I see no bearing whatsoever of facing a team coming off either a win or a loss. At the end of the day if you don't leave it all on the field, you shouldn't have showed up in the first place.

It's called being human. 99% of the time a home team is not going to take a visiting team that seriously If that team has lost 3 in a row

But if that team is coming off a win and a game behind the home team in the standings,.then the home team takes them a little more seriously

We can agree to disagree. I think 99% of the players play every game with a vengeance, (Especially a rivalry game) regardless of what either team did the game before. And if they don't, they should. Each and every game is as important as the next in the grand scheme of things. When it comes down to division titles, wild cards or home field advantage, the ones who will be left behind will be those who "didn't take the visiting team that seriously because they had lost 3 in a row.

I can't see our players doing it and I most definitely don't see our coaching staff allowing it.

It's a uncontrollable reaction based on the team's previous games.

Prime example

Eagles was up and ready for the steelers and vikings but not the Lions and skins based on the media perception of those teams

Same way the cowboys was ready for the Bengals and Packers based on what was said about those teams in the media before the game.


Now the scary game is Cleveland and I don't think I need to explain why

If we didn't take a 3 and 3 team in our division seriously, then we don't need to be in the playoffs at all. You, sir, are wrong and operating on faulty assumptions.
 
The Eagles might have played with a bit more urgency if they had lost. I will give you that much, but pressing too much can cause the opposite effect.

I would have rather the eagles take the loss. It wouldn't have had any bering on our game with them.
