Instead of over-paying every player that looks Jerry direction maybe Dallas should have signed back-up QB in off-season. The eagles game plan will be simple: 1) stack box on Zeke 2) get some hits on Dak shoulder. Dak comments that this shoulder injury happened every other week in college when he ran is concerning. It means its chronic injury for his style of play. I don't have faith in Rush to win this game if Dak is unable to throw.

I don’t think we ever had a “real” good backup QB because A.) There aren’t that many “good” ones out there, and B.) Dak has been pretty durable. Considering this is his 4th year and he is just now being listed as limited for the first time, that’s pretty good.

Any QB can step in and win if we're focused as a team and playing to win. But that's the question, does the team show up for 4 quarters.

LOL, “legit” backup QB.

There’s maybe 12 really good NFL quarterbacks, period. Good luck getting two of them on the same roster in a league with 32 teams.
Cooper Rush IS the definition of a backup QB.
You either get a guy like him, or a failed/washed up former starter from some other team.

There’s a diamond in the rough every now and then but that’s the exception, not the rule.

Two things are holding Rush back from what I've seen, as of his last preseason outing. He's limited by a very average arm and lack of mobility. In a brief span of spot duty, I think he'd be capable of holding his own. In the event of an extended period of time playing complete games, not so much. Given good protection, he'd stand a good chance but without it, his limitations might well do him in. I believe it's just a matter of time before someone comes along to replace him. The remaining question is simply when. As long as there are more pressing priorities, the wait might be longer than we'd expect.

I don't post here much as some others so I apologize, but I cant let this go.

Are you completely out of your mind, or are you trying to start??
We are playing the eagles and it's good you probably don't post much lol

If Garrett could step in and do it, so can Rush. It's all about the team playing to win.

He can't be as bad as Cassle, Weeden and Moore, right? I hope he can't at least.

Just about every "big name" backup we've brought in seemingly couldn't win games here. At least Rush hasn't gotten an opportunity to show what he's got yet, he might can play.

If we can get up early we may see Rush in the 4th quarter and Pollard.

I am kind of curious to find out--is Rush the next Matt Moore or the next Kellen Moore?!

Dallas has never been good about back ups had we had one in the past we may have had more team success

orton or perhaps kitna is the last time we had decent back ups

Injuries happen the coaching staff needs to be better at preparing the back ups we have

I’m sure 85% of the teams are in the same boat as us in terms of back up qb

I'm a little concerned after watching practice throws from #4. You could make the argument they only wanted to show what they wanted us to see and blah, blah, blah but every practice throw was him faking a handoff and throwing the screen and under-neath to Zeke etc...You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this Sunday's game plan.

The eagles gameplan isn’t so simple.

1. Even if they stack the box against Zeke. That doesn’t mean it will stop him. The eagles linebackers are terrible. When Zeke gets to the second level they are going to have a tough time getting him down.

2. If they do stack the box, the eagles cornerbacks cannot cover our receivers. They simply cannot. So if the eagles sell out to stop the run, they are playing with fire because Cooper, Gallup and Cobb should be able to feast.

There is no easy gameplan for the eagles against the cowboys because the eagles personnel doesn’t match up well against them. The eagles defensive line will have to be dominant this game. If they aren’t, their defense is in trouble.

have to go back to Danny White for a true #1 backup or Vinny Testaverde who had to come in to win a playoff game when Aikman was knocked out of the game
