A friend of mine works for the Detroit AP and has STATS Pass which is the heavy duty STATS, Inc site that has all of the info that STATS, Inc keeps track of. I'm pretty sure only media members can get access to that site.

Here's the thing, before the Saints game Romo's QB in the pocket was 102. I don't know what it is now since I have talked to my friend since then and have him look it up for me, but I'm willing to bet that it's probably in the low 90's at the very least.

Romo is a lot like Roethlisberger in that he's tremendous out of the pocket, but still very good in the pocket. Teams would rather keep both QB's in the pocket because they are deadly if they get outside. But they are still really good QB's in the pocket.

its not really rocket science. He has terrell owens....
how many corners can cover TO for an extra 4-5 seconds...hes going to get open given enough time. If the cowboys had one of those indy colts Olines then romo would probly be a full on pocket passer because i guarantee you owens will get open if the qb is not forced to get rid of the ball...

Most of the posters on this board see every game and a lot watch it a second time. These guys on ESPN probably cannot watch every game every week, they see the Cowboys play less than us.

So I really put less stock in their opion than I do the majority of the non trolls on this board.

These guys are jack of all trades on every team, we are subject matter experts on our Cowboys.

Passes deflected at LOS
Romo (6'2") 6 passes deflected (once every 46 attempts)

Rivers (6'5") 9 passes deflected (once every 45.1 attempts)

Here's the rate of passes batted at the line (attempts per pass batted down, so the higher the better) for every quarterback with at least 48 attempts this season --

--- Daunte Culpepper (0 in 134 attempts)
119.50 Andrew Walter (2 in 239 attempts)
86.67 Marc Bulger (6 in 520 attempts)
81.00 Jeff Garcia (2 in 162 attempts)
61.63 Peyton Manning (8 in 493 attempts)
61.00 Matt Hasselbeck (5 in 305 attempts)
56.63 Tom Brady (8 in 453 attempts)
56.56 Jon Kitna (9 in 509 attempts)
55.00 Kyle Boller (1 in 55 attempts)
52.10 Brett Favre (10 in 521 attempts)
52.00 Mark Brunell (5 in 260 attempts)
51.25 Ben Roethlisberger (8 in 410 attempts)
51.14 Charlie Frye (7 in 358 attempts)
50.17 Vince Young (6 in 301 attempts)
47.33 Chad Pennington (9 in 426 attempts)
46.00 Tony Romo (6 in 276 attempts)
45.11 Philip Rivers (9 in 406 attempts)
45.00 Derek Anderson (2 in 90 attempts)
44.50 Chris Weinke (2 in 89 attempts)
42.25 Drew Bledsoe (4 in 169 attempts)
41.44 Joey Harrington (9 in 373 attempts)
39.38 Jake Plummer (8 in 315 attempts)
39.33 Michael Vick (9 in 354 attempts)
36.83 Carson Palmer (12 in 442 attempts)
36.55 Steve McNair (11 in 402 attempts)
36.00 Rex Grossman (12 in 432 attempts)
35.11 Donovan McNabb (9 in 316 attempts)
33.69 Brad Johnson (13 in 438 attempts)
33.64 Eli Manning (14 in 471 attempts)
33.33 David Garrard (6 in 200 attempts)
33.20 Aaron Brooks (5 in 166 attempts)
32.82 J.P. Losman (11 in 361 attempts)
30.75 Kurt Warner (4 in 123 attempts)
30.60 Trent Green (5 in 153 attempts)
30.33 Matt Leinart (12 in 364 attempts)
30.00 Jason Campbell (5 in 150 attempts)
29.31 Alex Smith (13 in 381 attempts)
26.14 Byron Leftwich (7 in 183 attempts)
25.25 Jake Delhomme (16 in 404 attempts)
24.00 Tim Rattay (2 in 48 attempts)
23.50 Drew Brees (22 in 517 attempts)
23.43 Bruce Gradkowski (14 in 328 attempts)
21.91 Damon Huard (11 in 241 attempts)
21.26 David Carr (19 in 404 attempts)
20.50 Jay Cutler (4 in 82 attempts)
20.14 Seneca Wallace (7 in 141 attempts)
15.00 Kerry Collins (6 in 90 attempts)
13.25 Chris Simms (8 in 106 attempts)

As you can see, Romo is 16th out of 48, which means he is in the top third for NOT having passes batted at the line of scrimmage.

i'm sorry - is this better?

<memo to all of espn analysts>
From this point forward, Romo and the Cowboys are unbeatable. It's come to our attention that several unbiased fans out there have called us on our blind hatred and have been good enough to let us know that any talk of beating romo is premature and will result in massive amounts of stupidity spilled onto the web in a manner that would make even the valdeez proud. So please when talking about the Cowboys simply let the audience know we feel they are unbeatable and we should simply award them the Lombardi trophy every year to avoid the stupidity spills.
</memo>

some people who have microphones don't care for the cowboys. get over it.
some people who have microphones love the cowboys and still can be unbiased. get used to it.
some people who have microphones are homers deluxe. send irvin a xmas card and some slightly used papers.

the whole world isn't going to revolve around your views and certainly isn't going to report according to them.
So you're saying I'm God now which I'm not typical.

Who did I want? Answer wrong, and you are a fool...

Also, if you make insinuations like that towards me, prove it...or shut up!

Slow news day...people need something to have a little fun. This thread is great. :)
Thank you atleast not all is lost around here like I said in another thread the same stuff gets posted around here daily and some of the ones who blasted me about the Romo deal are some of the same ones who are always knee deep in most of those same dull threads.

They blasted me but yet kept posting in this thread anyway when all they had to do was move on.

Merry Christmas, and a Happy 2007.

no, i'm saying so far what you type only makes sense 2/3 of the time and the other 1/3 is a *** sentence, kinda like this one.

i'm saying you wah every time someone says something not positive about the cowboys and that's not a very realistic thing to expect.

100% positive about *any* topic just doens't happen.

So it wasn't you who had that Drew sig with T.O. then if it wasn't my bad then

I tell you what from now on if you don't like any of my threads don't bother posting anything in any threads I start.

If that's wasn't you with the Bledsoe sig with T.O., then my apologies.

But don't ever call me a fool.

Um, you do realize that that will be our strategy against Garcia, right? Neither QB has prototypical height for the position, so you try to keep him in the pocket and make him throw over the behemoths. It's not a matter of "anti-Romo prejudice"
Alrighty then
