This is a different team

I tried telling folks who said this team sucks and is going 6-11. Team can’t run the ball, defense can’t stop the run and Dak sucks.

The loss sucks. They had em. Fortunately, this is the first game of the season and these bright spots have me feeling good going forward:

* Dak looks very mobile, strong and aware.
* The run game looked so much improved from recent years.
* The offensive line dominated IMHO. A few mental mistakes, but they didn’t get out physicaled.
* The defense actually made in game adjustments and clamped down on the run. Barkley only had 60 yards. Hurts was awesome on the ground though.
* The team overall looked prepared. First game of the season you know they’re going to be fired up and they were. But they played within themselves, not like that yahoo Carter, and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
* I saw toughness from the team. Dak making that TD saving tackle after the fumble is going to pay dividends within themselves locker room.
* Only 4 penalties.

Probably won’t shut up all the habitual critics but maybe some.

:starspin:
Let’s all remember that Philly’s best player was watching the game far away from the field! Had he been in the game I don’t think our offense would have looked so good.

There are always signs of hope with this team. But in true Cowboys fashion they snatched defeat from.jaws of victory. When they had to make a few plays that was right there they didn't. When they had to just not make a simple mistake they did. They found a way to stay close but make enough mistakes not to win it.

Its now in the DNA of this team in the past 15 years. It runs in the organization. Its in the DNA of the fans. We celebrate moral victories.

I am pissed off about this loss. I want the players to be pissed off. I want the owner to be pissed off. I want the fans to be pissed off. I want the Dallas media to be pissed off. But everyone is ignoring that we lost. Couldn't finish. Made mistakes. Didn't make plays that were right there

If Dak really thinks this team is good enough to be in CCG, they should have expected to win this game and they all should be extremely mad.

Moralmvictories are for those with loser mentality.
It’s not in my DNA nor the players.

And we had starters out as well.

This by far the absolute most stupid comments from all the Dak Haters. You win idiot of the week award. Congrats
He can learn to assess risk reward better , Jake Ferguson gets knocked out in week 1 that’s a bad pass and he let his teammate down

You make those throws when you absolutely have to

I mean I get that team "Rah-rah" gets all excited about moral victories and yes, it was a better showing than I anticipated. However, the Cowboys have a long standing pattern of showing well in September and October. We are going to have to wait to see how this team plays in December. Then we will know.

those are routine throws and passes in NFL. now, you want to find something to complain and point fingers at Dak. go ahead. but that throw was exactly where it needed to be and he should have made the catch.

by the same token, you would have complained if he didn't make the throw. its damned if he does. damned if he doesn't.

you are in a complain about everything and anything mode. I am not defending Dak, but I also don't incessently find fault and complain about everything. if your Cult leader MC said Dak had a good game. did he approve your message or did you go rouge?

it sure sounds like and looks like it.

we drop passes. fumble at worst times and make errant throws at most important times, specially against better teams. the cowboys haven't learned how to win these type of games. they just know how to stay close. great teams make plays when it counts.

you want to be the best. you beat the best. if Dak thinks we will play the Rams in CCG, then we have to beat teams like this and make plays when it counts. so far, we do not. this is not a Dak criticism. this is a cowboys organization and team criticism.

were they better than expected?, because our expectations were low? we set the bar low and they exceeded that? perhaps. but still not good enough to pull wins when opportunities were clearly there. they don't hand out trophies because you exceed expectations. they hand out trophies to those who actually win it. if Dak set the bar at NFCCG, then that's where the bar should be and we didn't meet those expectations.

His "DNA" will be gone by mid-season.

I didn’t say anything different.

NONE of our starters that were out could carry and dominate a team like Jaylen Carter can. The dude is a game disruptor............
And the Cowboys have Tyler Booker. We actually come out ahead as he’s a monster. But he’s a Cowboy so I get it why people here never even mention his name. All they do is talk about how good players are on other teams and how bad players are on the Cowboys. Like you do. Are you a Jaylen Carter fan club leader?

Can’t stand him, but the dude is legit! As for Booker, I hope the cat is a bad ***, punch you in the mouth type of player and until he faces an opponent like Carter I’m going to hold off on my opinion of him. We all got excited when the Boys drafted Mazi and we all know what he is about…….lol!!!!!

"This is a different team."

0-1

Zero points in second half

Sliced and diced by a running QB.

I had 11 wins and a WC before the season . It’s tough when your top corner hurts himself in practice and is out as Malik Nabers comes to town , hope Eberflus has some tricks up the sleeve .
