How the defense performs will improve as both the defensive line and secondary spend more time on the carpet together. Team development principals, here. Smart coaches now.

For those of us that played and coached sports we don't view that game as a win. It's viewed as a missed opportunity.
The Chargers took advantage of their opportunities. Both SB teams from last year played bad.

That was a questionable play call, at best. Last night Mahomes and Herbert, considered great quarterbacks, ran with the ball when there was an opportunity or they were called upon. It would be helpful if Dak could do the same.

I enjoyed the game as well. I rooted like hell for them all night long and stayed up till nearly 1:30 am east coast time to watch them.

But you can’t say it’s a DIFFERENT team off of 1 game where the results were consistent with what we’ve seen for awhile- flashes of brilliance but ultimately a loss. Doesn’t mean they can’t prove they are different this year but way too early.

You’re confusing enjoying the team vs them actually being different which is what the post said.

One game fun game. I have been paying attention to strides of this very team all off season.

Upgrade one's own prejudice and keep on watching.

Myself I don't instead carry bias on current value that was in fact shown here. One can doubt for any cause in your mind.

This team played well against a Champion Team. It has it's own merit. Not disappointment canned up from last season.

Yes I can say that was solid no matter what barrier you try to erect. If the people of Troy would have just started chanting send it back. :grin: :lmao:

Doesn't matter about an argument i'm not arguing we're just having a debate we have different perspectives they were not supposed to be in that game and by the way we're missing players too where's our excuse we've got guys on IR trying to tell me a guy like Overshown wouldn't have helped? I mean our actual projected starter was supposed to be the rookie in Revel and he's not here and this was game one we're trying to figure out our defense and how our rotation and who's going to be the starter or not and without a really true preseason this game will help our coaches figure out a better rotation next game you know as far as the linebackers the running backs they will get this figured out but this was like a brand new defense with a brand new defensive coordinator with a whole lot of new moving pieces and I think they did a really good job for that oh and by the way we're missing that other guy


Do I need to mention his name because a week ago he was a Dallas Cowboy and as much as I know he wouldn't have changed the game much acting like them missing Carter, we were missing Parsons, Overshown, and Revel.. Hey what's their real excuse we have a whole new coaching staff in game one playing on the road in a hostile environment they're the Super Bowl champions and we basically play them even in the first half and we made all the mistakes in the second half that cost us the game so what's their excuse missing one player on the defensive line really the Cowboys been playing like that for years we've had the injury bug for years... I Don't think they're feeling bad for beating us twice really bad last year playing our backups I don't remember them writing us a sympathy card...

But yeah, we don't need to do that don't mention who they were missing or not the Cowboys have been down players so often and nobody gives the other team excuses because nobody gives us excuses.

We'll take the moral victory not that it makes me feel better because yes we lost but this team looked better than expectations by far And I think I'm right by saying this is closer to a 9 to 11 win team than all those who said they were going to win under seven games if we're healthy you're nuts this is not a 7 win team this is a far better team and that's what you take from the game..



Besides the fact that we almost always split with the Eagles if we have two healthy teams going head to head they win at home we win at home that's pretty obvious yes we let one get away but we played better than expected and could have beat them that is an upside I don't care if you like to see it from the negative I'm spinning it from the positive...

Must have been something keeping strides with the team all off season considered this was the first team we saw them play together as a unit with starters

The loss sucks. They had em. Fortunately, this is the first game of the season and these bright spots have me feeling good going forward:

* Dak looks very mobile, strong and aware.
* The run game looked so much improved from recent years.
* The offensive line dominated IMHO. A few mental mistakes, but they didn’t get out physicaled.
* The defense actually made in game adjustments and clamped down on the run. Barkley only had 60 yards. Hurts was awesome on the ground though.
* The team overall looked prepared. First game of the season you know they’re going to be fired up and they were. But they played within themselves, not like that yahoo Carter, and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
* I saw toughness from the team. Dak making that TD saving tackle after the fumble is going to pay dividends within themselves locker room.
* Only 4 penalties.

Probably won’t shut up all the habitual critics but maybe some.

penalties killed us so much last year. in critical situations we would get a penalty. will that happen this year at some point probably, but they looked better this game.

Well, obviously you make judgements based solely on the final score and are so blinded by your hate that you can’t see the big improvements in the TEAM since last year. Don’t have time for trolls.

I’m not a troll, they could absolutely be a different team this year. 1 game is not a sample of that positively or negatively, win or loss.

They just happened to lose a close game against a good team…again. We see this every year. Flashes of brilliance and then dumb penalties ( Pickens unnecessary roughness), turnovers ( miles sanders) and key players not making the big play in the biggest moments (Ceedee).

Of course you make judgements on wins and losses. It’s professional sports. Doesn’t mean I didn’t see reasons for optimism- I did but not enough to make definitive statements especially in a loss

I know. I understand negative people focus on the negative only as you did and making a year long prediction about a team not being able to finish the Eagles game. A team with an all new coaching staff and 30% player turnover. A team that didn’t play their starters in the preseason. A team that played the defending SB champions Mano el Mano and showed signs we haven’t seen from them in years. You’re too blinded by your hate to be able to see that and recognize it.
