This is how injury prone Romo is

Really? So what is it them a good omen? The team's projected starter got taken out of a game after 3 plays and everyone should turn a blind eye to that?

It's amazing what people will tell themselves in the name of fandom.

He's saying, from what he could see on tv, the hit last night is unlikely to significantly exacerbate the existing back condition. He didn't say it was a good thing.

The back--as has been pointed out many, many times in this thread--is the real chronic problem we Cowboys fans should be concerned about. Whether last night's hit has long term effects or not, it's the back injury that very likely ends Tony's playing career eventually. That's truth of the situation, and I don't think it's escaped anybody.

You're trying to conflate that with your earlier argument regarding the collarbone now, but they're not the same thing at all.

Whatever happened to the back last night, I'll be a lot happier to see him taking hits again. No matter how it looked on tv or what the team says, it's not good to see him take a direct hit on it on the third play of the dress rehearsal game.

Do you want to compare Manning's games missed due to injury to Romo's? I doubt it.

For the back injury, sure. Not if your going to bring broken bones that have nothing to do with it into the conversation, which I'm sure is your intention.

So no answers again.
Just what I thought.

Answers to what? What do you need to know?

Your desire is to state the obvious and cry about it.

The only one "crying" here is you. Because you can't handle the facts surrounding Romo and injury. That's your issue, not anybody else's.

The reality is every QB can get knocked out on any play...ask Carson Wentz.

Your reality maybe. The playing field isn't level, no matter how many times you wish it were. Romo misses more time. Deal with that fact.

What does this change at this point?
So he plays all 16...great,..
So he doesn't like many QBs won't...then Dak plays some.
You want people to agree with you.....and then what? What should we be so negative about?

I don't need anyone to agree with me. I'm just not going to sit back while people lie about the truth. Sit back and cover your own eyes, but don't try to cover other people's. Spare us the propaganda ******** attempt.

No, "cry" instead because others see issues for what they are and refuse to cover their eyes to it, or to let anyone else convince them of something that's not true.

So what do you do now that you refuse to cover your eyes to it?
I will be cheering hard for Romo and if he gets knocked out then I will be cheering just as hard for Dak.
You can look at Romos injury history and form your conclusions. Someone else can use the info they have and feel better about Romos chances. Why go back and forth fighting so hard to try to convince people to agree with you? You will never change anyone. They will just stop responding to the thread. It doesn't mean you convinced them.

It's preseason, man.
In a game that counts, he would have been out for only a few plays.

I don't think anyone is delusional about Tony's age or injury history. But it would be inconsistent with good judgement to overlook his lack of injury or deterioration to his throwing arm and legs. It's also common knowledge that his experience, judgement, and leadership are exemplary.

I have the same amount of worry about his health and longevity that I do for any other aging star, like Rogers, Brady, or Rothy.

BTW, our OL has a better protection projection than most.

He's saying, from what he could see on tv, the hit last night is unlikely to significantly exacerbate the existing back condition. He didn't say it was a good thing.

It was another attempt, after yet another Romo injury, nowhere some fan comes out and tries to tell everyone to "remain calm, all is well". They can save the effort because nobody is buying what they're selling. Injuries have been and continue to be cause for concern.

The back--as has been pointed out many, many times in this thread--is the real chronic problem we Cowboys fans should be concerned about. It's part of the overall picture of injury, which results in this team's quarterback missing much more time than any of his contemporaries. I'll deal with that fact, free from qualifiers and excuses.

Whatever happened to the back last night, I'll be a lot happier to see him taking hits again. No matter how it looked on tv or what the team says, it's not good to see him take a direct hit on it on the third play of the dress rehearsal game.

I'll be wincing every time it happens. This latest incident only reinforces worries that we already had.

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. Just countering the ******** when other people try to

There is no truth. Everything is just fans opinions and perspectives. What makes your opinion any more truth than anyone else's? I have my opinions but that doesn't mean you opinion is wrong. everyone comes here to state their own perspective and opinions. Not everyone goes back and forth with everyone that doesn't agree with them the way you do. it's kind of Weird.

No, I'll just deal with facts and numbers. I'll leave the excuses and qualifiers for other people.

Pretty much exactly what you didn't want to see in preseason. Blindside, awkward, compressing the lower back.

If he's back at practice the next few days, I'll be pleasantly surprised. We're lucky if it's just a very short term setback.

Speculation. Nobody knows one way or another.

That's fine. I think fandom influences people's judgement. Those guys don't get hurt nearly as often as Romo does, that's the fact of the matter, but fans want to try to level the playing field when it comes to injury when history and facts refute that.

BTW, our OL has a better protection projection than most.

I agree, but that hasn't helped Romo to stay on the field more "than most" unfortunately.

Knocked out of any game after three plays is plenty of cause for concern, no matter the qualifiers. And nobody should feel wrong for being worried about it.

Because I have the facts and numbers supporting my opinion. 27 games missed. All you've got is opinion.

I respond to those who quote me, I consider it a courtesy. If you were expecting to quote me to criticize me and that be the end of it, you're mistaken. But if you want the debate to end, simply walk away and don't quote me anymore and I won't bother you again.

Everyone has facts supporting their opinions.
People have explained why the 27 games fact isn't held as high to them as it is to you. No point in even going down that road at this point.
I love a healthy respectful discussion. I respect your opinion regardless of the facts you use to support your opinion. And I respect other people's opinions also.
No need to put people into camps or make every thread a debate instead of a discussion.

I'll leave it at that.

That illustrates my point. I'm pointing to facts while others point to their sheer opinion why it's not "held as high". I'm taking emotion and hoping out of it and showing that this team's quarterback misses significantly more time than his contemporaries.

If you believe that the procedure the doctors performed on his collarbone will make it so that it won't be able to break again then you do have to consider the collarbone as no longer an issue.
It would be like a QB missing a bunch of games due to concussions and then having him wear a true concussion proof helmet( if it existed)....that issue would no longer be an issue for him.

In any case, I will always be nervous anytime any QB we have gets hit. The human body isn't designed to take hits at the speed and impact that the NFL puts them through
.

Must be weird for Giants fans not having that worry. Eli can llitterly get cut in half but he'll still get up and keep playing, dumb face aside
