In the playoffs, there may be games like this. The question is, can we win these? I guess that question was answered tonight. The defense played great, and we made enough plays to win the game. Learning how to win is the hardest thing for losing teams to learn. Once you learn it, lights out.

This is still a 2 TE offense and you have to have a TE like Witten that can block and catch and then the other TE is more of a blocker.

Without Swaim we don't have that valuable #2 TE as Escobar stinks on ice. We really need to look for some quality blocking TE's to help us out.

I thought the defense, outside of Carr played pretty well. Hitchens may have had his best game ever in coverage and I thought Anthony Brown looked good.

We just couldn't get into the right ebb and flow on offense. WE would make some first downs and then get killed by a penalty or the Whitehead fumble or a poor playcall. Hopefully this serves as a wakeup call and we can put that extra rest to good use next week.

The dropoff from Swain to Escobar is insane. He is just awful in regards to blocking.

I literally just said Minn is better for sure.

If you can't see the comparison in regards to the players and their makeup I don't know what to tell you.
Yeah I know. You also said they have similar makeup and they don't.

Agreed, but I think we won this because the Vikings offense is inept.

The Seahawks have a quality defense, but can score 30 a game with Russ and Baldwin, Jimmy Graham, Lockett, and Kearse.

We have to play MUCH better than tonight, but I think that we will. Super Bowl? Who knows, but we have a great thing building.

Why do you feel that way? Look at the similarities.

Both have elite Dlines. Minn has the edge at LB, but Collins and Harrison Smith are both elite SS's, and Rodgers Crom and Jenkins are a very nice duo at CB just like Rhodes and Brock.

He is probably an off season away but Rico from what I hear is making great strides especially in his blocking hopefully J Witt can teach him about route running

Thank goodness Dak can run or this would've been a loss.
Tonight Dak put the team on his shoulders and willed it to victory, with a little help from the special teams. It wasn't a good game for Dak but he made plays when it mattered most and a lot of those crucial plays was him running for the first down, making something out of nothing.

This was one stressful win. I was so relieved when it was over.

I hope this puts to rest the idea that no defense can stop this team.

I hope that is the case. You really don't need to be a master route runner or defensive reader to run the routes that Swaim runs. You just need a guy that can block and run the bootleg routes properly.

I never got stressed. I did think we would lose this game just because it didn't feel right but it wasn't a big deal even if we lost.

Solid points in regards to penalties. But those often happen because players are beat and out of position, which was the case tonight. But I agree, I don't see that happening too often.

Escobar is awful. We really miss Swaim. One of our strengths is no longer a strength. It's not a weakness, but it sure as hell isn't a strength anymore.

The first hold was BS and while the clip was bad, I get the impression that you did not pay a lot of attention to Swaim if you think his blocking was appreciably better.

Michael Irvin and other members of this board thought a loss would be a good thing for this team going forward to keep them hungry.

This is that loss.

This team played horribly and had to feel the pain of a loss creeping up in their stomach for 3 and a half quarters.

They managed to win.

Patriots got an ugly win against a lesser team last week. We just got ours. A win like this serves the same purpose as a loss. This team knows they kneed to get better if they don't want that loss feeling to creep up.
I'm with you.......I would much rather learn some lesson from an ugly win than a tough loss every day of the week

I thought about one of your posts earlier tonight(I think!).

Weren't you predicting a horrible outing by the referees trying to set up divisional championship next Sunday night?

Sure we were saved by Dak's legs but this offense but up 24 or 27 without some of the ticky tack penalities to limit a couple big plays and potential drives.

NYG have a defense that has a similar makeup to Minn. They spent big and it's paid off.

We play like that against NY, and it's a loss. Hopefully Pitt can take care of them at Heinz Field.

Gints have good DL and DBs but their LBs aren't nearly as good as the Minny's LBs.

Yes I did.

NFL officiating has gotten so annoying.
