NYG have a defense that has a similar makeup to Minn. They spent big and it's paid off.

We play like that against NY, and it's a loss. Hopefully Pitt can take care of them at Heinz Field.
Giants D is good but it's not the Vikings D. I get what you're saying though the Cowboys will lose if they play that poorly again

Those teams in the 90s often had a hell of a time putting the Cardinals away.

Sure doesn't diminish them in my eyes.

Also the Washington games were no gimmes..... Our 90's teams had some clunkers, and close wins along the way and got really hot in the playoffs / championship games

Fair point. Just have to think it can be liable to burst open at any time. We need Mo back

Hey it could be a liability.. But I like our liability compared to a lot of other teams liabilities.

Let's face it.. It's hard to play defense in the NFL.. The rules just don't let you..

Almost everyone has a team built based around passing and stopping the pass which is why we have such a huge advantage.

Teams just aren't built to stop us and the teams that are built to stop us typically don't have anything on the offensive side of the ball.

Michael Irvin and other members of this board thought a loss would be a good thing for this team going forward to keep them hungry.

This is that loss.

This team played horribly and had to feel the pain of a loss creeping up in their stomach for 3 and a half quarters.

They managed to win.

Patriots got an ugly win against a lesser team last week. We just got ours. A win like this serves the same purpose as a loss. This team knows they kneed to get better if they don't want that loss feeling to creep up.

They got punched in the mouth and walked away with a split decision.

I agree and once again, The refs did us no favors. Tired of holding penalties that aren't holding. With that, The offense played their worst game and still won and the defense did show up. I know it was the Vikings but they did get 2 turnovers. That call against Scandrick was garbage. They got 10 days now to refocus and get ready for the Giants. What a game that is set up to be on Sunday night.

Our run game will take over the Giants game. It was on the verge of being huge vs. Vikings, but penalties killed that....some ticky tack penalties too. I guess it's because he's a TE on the outside, but what I saw from Escobar, they could call that holding on our OL every play.

What's amazing is that most Cowboys fans were happy to see Newman go because he doesn't get interceptions...that's always the big thing with fans. If a guy covers but doesn't get the turnovers, he sucks. Yet our receivers struggled to get open against the 38 year old CB....amazing, sort of a Darryl Green thing, without the interceptions.

The Cowboys played 3 games in 11 days against some pretty good teams and won them all.

Ravens, Commanders, Vikings. Ravens currently leading their division. Commanders have a winning record. Vikings HAD a winning record. Until we beat them.

Doesn't feel like a loss to me. Feels like a nice, hard fought close win to close out a brutal stretch of games.

Now some days to rest and heal. And on to the Giants.

Go Cowboys!!!

I think too many take games for granted. Minn at home was 4-1 this was never going to be an easy game. Vikes fighting for their lives came in and played some very good defense. Cowboys were not sharp last night and yet gutted out a win in a hostile environment. What I have seen over the years is good teams find way to win even when they are not at their best and Cowboys managed to do that last night. Cowboys clearly need to clean some things up as the make the final push but now they get those extra days off to get some guys healed up and get a couple of days of rest.

Which is why Seattle is the only team that worries me. Russ and that group of receivers could hang 30 on this defense. And it will be tough to score 30 on that defense.

But like others have said, they're a different team on the road as opposed to at home, and we almost beat them last year with a scrub QB, and we did beat them in 14.

I like this team, but our leaky defense has me a bit reserved. But like you said no team is perfect.

Good point. I was totally overlooking this game

Some forget that. This game wouldn't have been close if it wasn't for the penalties. Everytime the offense had a big play it came back. Even a 2 TD league would have put the game away. Bradford is just awful.

Heres the thing about Seattle.

For starters.. Their defense has taken a hit in Free Agency. It's not the defense it was 2 and 3 years ago.

Their Offensive line is bottom of the barrel.

Their run game is nothing to worry about.

Russell Wilson is a playmaker but if we contain him in the pocket he's not going to some skilled NFL passer that's just going to consistently slice you up in the pocket. If the Cowboys defense does anything well it's containing the offense and not letting them get behind them.

They are also not a good road team and right now the playoffs go through Jerry world.

Long story short.. We should like our chances against them and they should also feel like they have a shot against us.

that would be nice, but more often than not, an ugly win, is still viewed as a win. now that doesn't mean that we can't win 18 straight (which means we win the SB), just means that *if* this team needs a wake up call, I doubt last night's game was.

Summed it up well. We both like our chances against the other team. I'm just a bit more of a reserved person in regards to competition. Call it a coaches DNA. Always worried about the opposition.

All teams, even our championship teams of the 90s had ugly wins.
But, mate, I agree with you, this was our loss. But a win nonetheless.
WE WON!
Blokes, lest a pall is cast over our team momentum, it was a win. On the road. Fine catches by Dez.
Onward to a 12th win!!!!!

Interceptions weren't the issue, he had 4 in 2011 (last season in Dallas), 5 in 2010, 3 in 2009, 4 in 2008 and 4 in 2007. As big of a Terrence Newman fan as I was and still am today, he wasn't very good in 2011 and at 33, it was reasonable to believe he was done. I wish at some point we brought him in for veteran depth, because he's been pretty good since leaving, but it was not a lack of ints with him.

To me, winning in a bad game doesnt usually result in a wakeup call but rather reinforces bad habits. But maybe thats more a hockey thing.
