This is "That" game for the Cowboys

This is why this game is so important. If Dallas cannot beat the Eagles, then what is the point of the playoffs to begin with? To say we made it and enjoy the home game version of the playoffs?

You are right. But I think these Cowboys and their "old school" offensive approach are built for a January run. If they go 11-5 and are left out of the playoffs because of stupid seedings and tiebreakers, it would be a travesty. I'm sure the NFL is excited that a 6-10 Falcons or Saints team is headed for a home playoff game as the 4 seed.

Over the last five seasons, the problem has been that we haven't had "That" team, but this is the kind of game that should tell us how close we are right now.

The problem is....
We don't have that team right now.

The defense is barely serviceable. But can be opportunistic!

Fingers crossed!

Control the ball with Murray and the o-line, and that defense gets exposed a lot less. Time to get back to that formula; as they did in Chicago.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The NFC South is irrelevant. The division is there for the taking, all Dallas has to do is take it by beating Philadelphia.

That's the whole reason for the thread... this is the game they have not been able to overcome in quite some time.

Yes, quite frankly. That's the "cowboy way" that Garrett talked about when he signed on as HC.

this is about as much of a "must win" as you can get...their playoffs chances diminish greatly with a loss

The Cowboys are late season chokers until proven otherwise.
As for me..
Expect the worse and hope for the best.

Why have you done this?

I am just tired of the Big Game theory....Look at Monday Morning QB article. The guy is an idiot. He pulled all the "big" games or the ones he think is big and broke them down. At the end it actually proves that Romo is a gamer and not a choker BUT he STILL said that he doesn't think Romo is a bad QB in big games despite HIS OWN evidence says that Romo is.

I really do think this game determines our season. It's going to be a good one.

I agree, this is the game that will decide our season.

Lose this game and we don't make the playoffs.

Win this game and I think we win out as division champs and have a first round bye.

I know, it always drove me nuts that they didn't have the will to beat teams that were better than they were.

Maybe that is part of the problem, under Garrett's entire tenure as head coach our division rivals have been better than we are............we have lost the division to the Giants, Skins, Eagles, and possibly Eagles again.

I hope they win but with how the past has ended for this regime in season deciding games I really don't trust them. Still ill be drunk as hell Sunday night cheering and yelling at the tv no matter what lol.

With Arizona winning these last 2 weeks, it pretty much is our season. Seeing as we lose the tiebreakers to most of the wild card scenarios. Still a lot of ball left to be played but it's looking like our playoff spot has to come from winning the East. And almost having to win these last 3. It can be done. Will it? Who knows. A lot of signs from the past point to no. That this is where this team shrivels up.

All I know is it's going to be very bleak and ugly if we lose. Very somber like I expect.

Well, you're right in that it is not an absolute must win, but our odds of making it in with a loss are not great. I know what you're saying regarding emotion, etc. The Cowboys in past years have seemed to back down when it came to facing the bully. I'm tired of the cowering. I want to see this team go in and kick the bully square in the nuts, for a change. I just don't know if we have enough pieces to make that happen right now.

This game , and its implications, regardless of what its called , was totally unexpected this year. To be in this position shows progress, maturing, and heading in the right direction.

Now is the time to seize that opportunity that lies in front of us. A very solid, all out effort is what I'm looking for, as I realize our D isn't close to where we need it to be especially regarding pressure/sacks, and consistent secondary play from all DB's not named Scandrick...

The Cowboys have been thinking about this one since it ended. The team we saw on Thanksgiving was not the one we'll see Sunday night.

And the Cowboys are the ONLY quality win the Eagles have. Everybody says the Cowboys beat only two teams (Houston and Seattle) with a winning record, but who has Philadelphia beat with a winning record? The answer- Dallas and Houston.

Philly lost to the 49ers and Cardinals, was absolutely smoked by the Packers, and were totally outclassed by the Seahawks. If the Eagles do make the playoffs, they'll be one and done.

I am pretty sure Philly beat Indy earlier in the year...didn't they? Guess I can go look it up.

We're on the same page Buddy. Don't know why, but I feel like Lawrence is going to have a positive impact Sunday night. A strip sack sure would be nice!

That would be a nice thing to see, as he is in reality just starting to get some NFL experience due to his injury.

To "be in this position" does not show progress because we gave been "in this position" each of the last 3 seasons and lost
To win this weekend would show progress
