The article specifically states, "The NFL knew about that incident, but charges were never brought against anyone because the victims did not see the shooter."

Yes, the incident is old, but this is a new development, which is why I used that word.

Also, the article doesn't say ESPN "informed" the league about anything. It said the ESPN reported contacted the NFL. The NFL, though, already knew about it. I'm guessing Jerry already knew about it, too.

They knew about the old crap, not the latest twist/turn. Informed vs. contacted = apples and oranges.

Jones' release might or might not have had anything to do with that shooting, or the ESPN report about it. But ESPN obviously wants to take credit for it, regardless, and they know nobody will be able to refute that being the reason. No matter what Jerry says the real reason was, the public perception will be that it was because of the shooting and/or ESPN, whether it is true or not

"Might"? Hilarious. Maybe you think it's a coincidence that Jerry had an "epiphany" or a "crisis of conscience" on the very same day this negative story broke. Me? I'm not so gullible. Whether or not ESPN takes credit is irrelevant; all that matters is that he's gone.

The result sucked, yes, but it wasn't a bad trade. Obviously, with your distaste for anything Jerry does...there is no point in trying to explain this to you any further.

I like the new stadium he's building.

Romo thinks he can score a touchdown every play. He's dangerous.

I like the car he drives from money that he stole from the fans.

you're seriously ragging on JJ because he has a lot of money? you better not shop anywhere or eat food. especially Wal-mart, Kroger, McDonalds, Subway, Taco Bell, or any pizza place.

No, it's the way he's gotten his money. By being a total idiot, doing what he wants, and letting the fans pay the price.

Just a reason to get rid of Pacman, nothing new here, however I felt it was worth taking the risk.

Jerry Jones is far from an idiot. I don't know many, and haven't heard of many, millionares or billionares who are idiots. has he made some bad decisions? yes, everyone does. that's no reason to hate someone or call them an idiot.

This was not a bad trade. Please don't be ridiculous. This is worse than people's reaction to the Roy Williams trade. We gave up a 4th rounder last year and got a 5th rounder this year. Please just stop.

For what? 10 games of an average CB, horrible punt returns and a critical kickoff fumble in a must win last game?

That doesn't even begin to offset the PR disaster and the locker room BS bringing him in has caused.

It was a typical Jerry bargain hunter gamble that flopped. How can you paint it any other way?

I didn't. I knew what would happen.

Note to self: Anytime Jerry signs a player and then has to employ bodyguards for him, the outcome probably won't be good.

He's been an idiot with his decisions. I didn't say he was a total idiot. He's getting there as each season closes.

every owner has made bad decisions this year, and last year, since the beginning time. it happens. if you really dislike it so much, don't be a fan. seriously, nobody likes a whiny fanboy.

You'd better watch your mouth when you talk to a legend, son. ;)

"HACK JOURNALISM! YOU SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED!" :D

Big difference. The BSP...err, I mean ESPN piece on Pacman will have 3 sources that are "alleging" that Pacman told somebody to shoot at them. That's good, quality journalism.

Mr. Blue Suit's piece was from a source "who spreaks regularly to Owens' teammates." Somehow that was interpreted as Jason Witten when we all know that if it was a player, Mr. Blue Suit would've said the anonymous source was a player in the locker room. For all we know it could be the assistant pro at the Valley Ranch golf course.

Not to forget that the reporter doesn't have any issues with Pacman personally like Mr. Blue Suit had with Owens.

Mr. Blue Suit = Hack

Reporter on Pacman story = solid, investigative journalism that allows the viewer to fairly make their own judgements.

The fact that Jerry hired bodyguards suggests he knew the likelihood of something happening as well. He's no idiot, he just isn't afraid to take chances. You apparently are.

This particular "chance" cost us very little. I don't applaud Jerry, or Pacman, but I'll applaud the trade. It was worth a shot.

Having said that, I'm almost glad he's failed. C'est la vie.

The article doesn't say anything about a new development. All of the information is mentioned using the past tense — except for the police saying they aren't even investigating it.

They knew about the old ****, not the latest twist/turn.

The article doesn't say anything about a late twist or turn.

Informed vs. contacted = apples and oranges.

So you agree that you were wrong, and "informed" and "contacted" are not the same thing?

"Might"? Hilarious. Maybe you think it's a coincidence that Jerry had an "epiphany" or a "crisis of conscience" on the very same day this negative story broke. Me? I'm not so gullible.

According to Ed Werder, Jerry was considering releasing Jones before today. That's why I said it (either the report or the shooting) might not have anything to do with it -- as in being the cause of it. And it might have more to do with the TIMING of his release than being the cause of it. Without the ESPN report, Jerry might have simply waited until Feb. 9, when his release will become official anyway. But rather than face more scrutiny after the report, he releases him before the report. That doesn't mean he wouldn't have been released anyway, without the report.
