I think your dead wrong. You need to attend a game to see the dramatic effect he has on the team and the atmosphere in the stands.

Dont think for a second jerry and stephen are too dumb to see that.

this is just like last year when in september guys like vic carucci were saying that there are many teams ready to give romo a big deal and how we would never be able to sign him because we waited to long.

Then we signed him. And guys like vic carucci who cover the entire nfl dont really have a good feel for any team let alone all of them, so they can write or say whatever they want because they are not accountable to anyone and can change their story 15 minutes after they write it.

So it gets a ton of press, the romo deal last year and the barber deal now. Why? because its Dallas and Jerry likes to be on TV and likes having the team talked about constantly. throw in parcells in dallas and for some reason Jerry's Arkansas roots and you get lazy national media and some lazy local media like clarence hill and matt mosely running around guaranteeing trades and constantly talking about it.

We will get a couple more backs in the draft and maybe a june 1st cut at running back will be signed. Then the team will go to camp. Then my prediction is newman, barber, canty and hamlin will all get deals.

And then by the first week of august there will be a new crisis around the team, jerry or wade. Jessica simpson stories will be out of control because its in los angeles. Pacman detractors will be everywhere in the media.

And of course espn will be preaching our doom everyday until the season starts.

I don't know. It sounds legit to me. Sam usually knows his stuff.

IF there is a brother and
IF he spoke to Sam and
IF Sam told him that

- I believe Sam was messing with him.

ive been to several games including in 2006 at the giants when barber scored both tds for us. but i keep hearing barber is "the heart and soul" of this team and stuff like your statement in bold. I think everybody is overrating his impact because of who else was playing rb for us. if julius jones wasn't the other rb i doubt people would think that barber makes the impact you claim. if we drafted stephen jackson or moroney barber wouldn't be who he is today. barber seemed so great(which he is good no doubt about it) and a big reason for that was because of how bad julius was.

I completely disagree.
Barber is an impact player. It was nothing to do with Julius.

No reason to discount what he said, man. Hos said earlier in this thread that he knows this guy's brother and hos said he is reputable.

Sam was probably talking out the side of his neck, and not really knowing much, just talking. The BP part is hard to believe, and I figure they are just getting mixed signals cause JJ is going to wait til after the draft to deal with Barber.

I agree. I have never compared the two. they are clearly different and barber plays differently.

Unfortunately for jones, he was constantly compared to barber.

I don't care what the cat is saying. Can the cat catch passes, or run with the ball?

I don't know if she can catch passes, but she has a helluva 40 time.

Yeah I couldnt compare the two because I STILL feel that Barber's role should be the backup or atleast split carries 40/60 with a starter. I believe that is how he will stay effective.

Come on you guys. I 100% believe Hurd said it to his brother. I know his brother and he is a stand up guy.

What does the whole thing mean? Well it could be that Barber is spouting off because they haven't offered him a contract. It could be that Hurd was spouting off to mess around. Maybe Barber keeps hearing about us taking a RB in the 1st and it bums him out and he thinks he isn't wanted. Maybe that is Barber's negotiation tactic. Maybe Hurd is talking out of his ***.

I think Barber will end up staying and we will get a complimentary RB and we will hoist the trophy next year.

Sam Hurt needs to shut his pie hole and hit the side line at full speed and break the end zone multiple times in 08. Then, and only then, will fans give a crud what he has to say.

Crappy second rate Dallas Cowboy needs to earn his money and keep his mouth shut.

MBIII aint leavin' Dallas. Jealous wus.

while I don't belive the OP

I don't think it's that far-fetched that Jerry wants to see a full-season w/ Barber as the main guy before committing to him long-term on a contract

I think Barber is the one of our "big names" I'd let go if I had to make a choice.

And Jerry *should* wait to give him a new deal until he's seen how Marion reacts to at least several more games as the full-time lead back. He's never done it before, and we don't know how he'd do in that role. It's very possible that he won't be able to run with the same energy and abandon that everyone loves so much when he has to play more plays and gets tired.

Idk, would be a great move by Bill. Who can Bill get with the number 1# PICK that has value like Barber and would cost them less money then that first pick would cost them, both this Rb's are coming off injuries, team does'nt have a star player and a young QB's best friend is a good running game, gee makes perfect sense to me from Miami's stand point. Shoot Pro bowl Rb, 2 pick's in the 20's and a boat load of cash saved on not paying for the #1 pick, sounds like a good bizzness deal for Miami.

i don't understand you guys.......i didn't say this was a done deal and that i had info from JERRY it was just some chatting with a player and he gave some insight on his buddy and what may happen.....

now is you want to rip on me because i posted it up okay but if someone else posted it i would read it and thank him for the info.....

That is the sad thing on a lot of message boards. People will rip into others for posting anything w/o a link ( even though a ton of juicy rumors will have no link ) especially if it infringes on their wants. Anybody who is gung-ho for MBIII ( and there are a ton on here, lol ) staying long term will of course try and put down anyone posting something like this.

Others like to read stuff like this, even though it is just heresay, especially when the alternative is yet another Pacman thread. But the vocal minority can be a real pain sometimes. It's a wonder anyone is man enough to post and risk the mighty anger of these guys, lol.

I applaud you for posting this. Thanks for giving an interesting topic for discussion instead of the same old Pacman. Try and ignore the haters.
