At least you've probably seen us win a championship at some point. I was in preschool the last time we did.
My son is the same way...23 years old and has never experienced any real success with this team. He is a nonchalant fan. Doesn't get excited by the possibilities. Expects every year to end the way this one (and so many others did). By halftime he walked away from the game and got on his Xbox...he wasn't upset, wasn't sad, just moved on to the next thing. He wasn't even concerned about the ribbing he was going to get in the office on Tuesday.

It hurts more when you have a team that backed into the playoffs with a no playoff experience, a first year qb, and a group of really young players, and a defense that gives up big plays, come into your house, where you haven't lost a game all season, and totally curbstomp you. Lots of our fans were 100% convinced that there was no way Dallas would lose. The table was set, and we were going to feast. Heck, even every sports analyst out there thought the same thing. The way that GB played was the way that Dallas should have played. That's why it hurts.

It's ok Russ. When it was 26-0.

I went upstairs to level up some guys on Warttales.
I knew where the game was going. No sense to watch anymore, and become more frustrated.

Don't think the football Gods are Dallas fans. Maybe at some point, that could change
Probably not until Jerry sells the team.

I thought about playing on my Xbox, but I didnt want to quit either.

What success have you seen? Regular season success is fools gold. Will look forward to seeing a real franchise like the Ravens following our demise.

You have nothing to fear - we have had zero success, and we’ve never come close

That's the thing though, I haven't seen success with this team. I want to see it badly. I want to experience what the older fans on here have.

I do feel bad for the younger Cowboys fans that have never experienced success. They don’t know what a championship team looks like and they are the ones who probably get sucked in more than anyone. A championship team starts with a difference maker at Quarterback and Head Coach. Dak and McCarthy are both good. But, they are not good enough for the Dallas Cowboys. The standards here should be much higher. The QB and Coach have to be the pillars of your team, the difference makers. They’ve both let us down three years in a row when it mattered most. Until those two change for something better do not get your hopes up.

And probably ownership

This was a particularly painful loss, I agree. I've stopped believing this team would ever get a SB, but even then thought we'd at least get one win in the playoffs.

I’m so sick of this crap. So much time, money and emotion invested in this franchise. It is starting to sink in that I may never see us win a Super Bowl. I’ve already lived nearly half my life and and only seen 4 ****ing playoff wins

I'm feeling that same way
Lol. You really don't pay attention to the games at all. Jerry loves fans like you.
I do pay attention, and that's why it's more painful. What am I supposed to do for him to not be that way? Switch teams?

I get it. It’s not easy for me either. But aye this is what this place is for. We will get over this together we got a long offseason together dont let these fools around here get to you because it’s gonna get ugly.
Yeah, and that's one of the reasons I shared my OP. It hurts, but at least I have you all to share my thoughts with on this matter.

Dont let the Cowboys get you down emotionally, they are not worth it.

Go spend some time with your kids or if you dont have any kids, spend time with some friends or family.

At the end of the day this is just a game, dont stress yourself out over it.

True, and I have something that I plan to do for fun this offseason that hey, if it works, may be something that takes more of my time.

I know it probably sounds ridiculous for me to say this. However, I must admit that this loss was painful for me tonight. maybe I'm foolish. Maybe it's because I'm young. I don't know. However, it felt absolutely torturous to watch today's defeat.

I suppose it's because this regular season was the best one that I have seen since becoming a fan around 2000. I mean, sure, we've had 13 win seasons before, but, before this game today, I felt this team really had a chance to do something special. Now, I dont know. We probably won't win the division next year because that's how the division works. We probably will have a new coach, but what's to say it's going to be a good coach if it's not McCarthy? Its going to have to be someone that works well with Jerry. But then, what happens to the team? Does it become irrelevant like when I started as a fan? Does it become successful? It just feels, well, painful feeling like this might have been the closest I'm going to have seen this team having a chance at success for some time.

I'm always going to stay a fan of this team. Most losses don't affect me the way they used to, but this one feels different just because of what I've described. Or at least, that's what's been rolling in my head since the game ended. Then again, should I care that much? The players don't seem to care that much. Their loss is mended by the money they made. Jerry won't care because he's got billions.

I'm sorry if this thread seems to be rambling. I'm just trying to vent a bit after how painful this loss was for me.
I can't blame you for your reasoning. Everyone has their reasoning to be upset over a loss. This loss didn't bother me that much. 2007, 2014, and 2016 to some extent, bothered me much more. Because I believed those teams could be any team on any given Sunday. You can't say that about these Cowboys.

The only thing that bothered me about this loss was because we had two very beatable teams on the way to the NFCCG. When was the last time we had that?

Real fans are hurt. This was the worst loss that I can remember. The team
was lifeless from the jump. As the lead built they seemed less interested. Stadium was dead silent. Just a terrible, franchise embarrassing loss. I wanted to believe things were starting to change and this team was different. Wow was that false hope. Brother I feel your pain.
