Real fans are hurt. This was the worst loss that I can remember. The team
was lifeless from the jump. As the lead built they seemed less interested. Stadium was dead silent. Just a terrible, franchise embarrassing loss. I wanted to believe things were starting to change and this team was different. Wow was that false hope. Brother I feel your pain.

Unfortunately, I'm at a spot where, unless the Joneses sell the team, I'm never going to see success with the Cowboys.

Correct sir

And they'll either relocate the Cowboys or fold them. Then again, given how sports is nowadays, maybe Jerry, being the businessman he is, sees something. Maybe football isn't about the fans anymore. Maybe it's about the biggest ratings for the biggest bucks. Screw the fans to the NFL owners. The pain doesn't matter as long as they are laughing with their money. I'm starting to want the NFL to die out.

Which is one of the reasons that I'm becoming convinced that I'm never going to see success with the Cowboys.
I don't know how you fix this. The team clearly plays like they are under severe pressure. If on the opening drive Love threw a pick 6, I bet the Cowboys offense looks much better. It's when they get down they seem to stiffen up and play terrible. They can't play from behind. Their drives look labored. I can't explain it.

This may be true. They need to completely step back. Hire Harbaugh and make McClay the GM and go away. The 1% chance they do that and just maybe things could change. Sadly, I think you’ll see more terrible losses before that cancer gets cut out of this franchise.

It’s a bad time for the fans.

The decision to put the game on Peacock is an unbelievable screw you to the fans. The precedent has been set by the league. Look at what HBO and now PPV has done to boxing. The Heavyweight Champion used to be one of the biggest stars in the sport. Nowadays I bet 80pct of sports fans couldn’t tell you who the champ is. It’s remarkable. That and the shifts in society make football’s future very muddled.

I know it probably sounds ridiculous for me to say this. However, I must admit that this loss was painful for me tonight. maybe I'm foolish. Maybe it's because I'm young. I don't know. However, it felt absolutely torturous to watch today's defeat.

I suppose it's because this regular season was the best one that I have seen since becoming a fan around 2000. I mean, sure, we've had 13 win seasons before, but, before this game today, I felt this team really had a chance to do something special. Now, I dont know. We probably won't win the division next year because that's how the division works. We probably will have a new coach, but what's to say it's going to be a good coach if it's not McCarthy? Its going to have to be someone that works well with Jerry. But then, what happens to the team? Does it become irrelevant like when I started as a fan? Does it become successful? It just feels, well, painful feeling like this might have been the closest I'm going to have seen this team having a chance at success for some time.

I'm always going to stay a fan of this team. Most losses don't affect me the way they used to, but this one feels different just because of what I've described. Or at least, that's what's been rolling in my head since the game ended. Then again, should I care that much? The players don't seem to care that much. Their loss is mended by the money they made. Jerry won't care because he's got billions.

I'm sorry if this thread seems to be rambling. I'm just trying to vent a bit after how painful this loss was for me.
bro, you are me 30 years ago, lolol...okay not sure how old you are but my suggestion is that you print out this thread and look at it again 20 years from now and in all likelihood it will remain the same....sad sad truth about longggggtime Cowboys fans sentiments. It really is just to be expected at this point, and there are no meds to help you get through things :banghead::banghead:

The only way that I can think of is a total rebuild, but, with Jerry being the age he is, I highly doubt that happens.

I hope they put the games on streaming services so that I can find alternative things to do with my time (i can't just do conventions every week, as much as I'd like to, with how expensive they are).

They will go to SF next week and get run off the field. I've seen this movie before.
The best thing for the Cowboys is if the Niners annihilate them and make the Cowboys loss look as bad as possible. Change is needed. A GM is required to rebuild this thing and get rid of all the holes in this team. Culture/attitude…everything.

But the problem is that Jerry will never let go of his gm position. At least not unless reality smacks him in the face to where he realises the rebuild needed is going to take longer than he has years likely left alive.

The most beautiful thing about this loss is that it hurt Jerry! Im sure Romo and Garrett were chuckling about it.

It probably hurt Jerry like a mosquito bite. The billions he raked in for a playoff game will make him feel much better.
