This makes 3 out of the last 4 SB champs that we've destroyed in the regular season

In 06, we beat the colts convincingly.
In 07, we absolutely handed the Giants their butts twice in the regular season.
We totally handled the 08 Steelers in their house until our QB's allergies started acting up.
The 2009 Saints weren't spared either. We went in their house (who dat?) and made Brees look pedestrian.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

We are close, but obviously not just there yet.

We can play with anybody. It's not like we are getting beat by 3 scores when we play the good teams.

Maybe next year.

The you guys take any consolation in that, thinking it just means we're in the mix and will get there soon.

OR do you see it as an opportunity lost?

I think it's the former. We are a young team (now with some experience and have been through some adversity). We'll get there eventually. I have no doubt.

We're in the mix, and we're close. Remember, the NFL is setup for every single team to go 8-8 at the end of the day (unless you're Oakland or St. Louis). Everything else is just gravy.

Consistency wins Super Bowls. We needed three more games like the NO and Philly games

I wonder why the world hates Cowboys fans.

Here's the deal, God has decreed that for every Cowboy dynasty, the fans must suffer the heartache of disappointment for exactly 15 years until they can win another Super Bowl. Check this out:
Staubach Era's last Super Bowl win was Super Bowl XII which was played in 1978. Cowboy fans suffered without another Super Bowl win for 15 years until the Aikman Era whose first Super Bowl win was in Super Bowl XXVII played in 1993. Aikman Era's last Super Bowl win was Super Bowl XXX played in 1996. We have not won a Super Bowl since then.

My prediction the Romo Era will begin next season when the Cowboys win Super Bowl XLV, 15 years after Super Bowl XXX. He may win us a Super Bowl or two, but then be prepared for another 15 years of suffering afterwards.

Cowboys Super Bowl XLV, look for it coming to a stadium near you in 2011.

Great point, jimmy40. I think we forget how long we had to wait before that 90s era. We are right on track. Of course, the Cowboys can't have a sense of entitlement. They have to go out there and make it happen.

It means what we all already know. We have the talent to beat anybody, we just can't put it all together consistently.

Further, Mr. Steroids Big Guy, I firmly believe that Wade will be knocking firmly on the NFL playoffs door next year!

It means the Cowboys can compete with the big boys. They just have to put it all together, which is easier said than done. Look at the Saints. Before the playoff bye, they were dead. There is NO WAY they would've won in the first round the way they were playing. But the week off came at the perfect time and they regrouped. Timing and putting it all together -- that's what the Cowboys have failed to do.

Hey, you Yahoo. I think ah saw your avator on a mudflap of a 16-wheeler!!

We beat the Colts 21-14.

We lost to the Giants in the playoffs.

We lost to the Steelers.

And we beat the Saints 24-17.

Where is all this destroying you are talking about that you decided it needed a thread?

:laugh2:

Just think how the Chargers feel about trading away 2 SB winning QBs

opportunity lost .. god ****** so annoying dudes and ladies... we are like up there and something is off every year is it romo is it wade no one knows but its off. this year was best team out of all those years in terms of talent development etc and everything.

All the other years, I just chalk it up to being the better team that game, or getting moral points for beating the SB winner. But there is no way I can look at 2007, and not feel cheated seeing as how we didn't beat the SB champs once... we beat them twice.
They weren't the champs when the Boys beat them.

If only they would have gotten a FG kicker in return...

Needed a thread? Stop being an idiot.

This is so much better than your Scandrick won (because of odd and even games?) after the preseason :lmao:

That means nothing when you can not do it when it counts sorry but Tampa Bay beat the Saints this year and pretty handily and it still means nothing

We beat the Colts
We beat the Giants twice
We had the Steelers beat, but let it slip away. (we also hung with the Ravens, who the Steelers beat in the AFC title game)
We beat the Saints

His point was that we are always competing against, and several times defeating, the eventual Super Bowl winners.

His point was that we had the team to play with and defeat the best the NFL had to offer, .. that is a lot better than only beating middle of the pack teams and losing to the top echelon of teams.

I get it. It is encouraging to keep working on getting better, .. keep on doing what has got us this far and try to improve for the post-season next year.

I wouldn't say we "absolutely handed the Giants their butts" twice in 07. We won both games, but they were both tight contests to the end. The Colts and Saints games were in doubt to the very end also. People exaggerate way too much. ;)
