I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

We are close, but obviously not just there yet.

We can play with anybody. It's not like we are getting beat by 3 scores when we play the good teams.

I think it's the former. We are a young team (now with some experience and have been through some adversity). We'll get there eventually. I have no doubt.

We're in the mix, and we're close. Remember, the NFL is setup for every single team to go 8-8 at the end of the day (unless you're Oakland or St. Louis). Everything else is just gravy.

I wonder why the world hates Cowboys fans.

Here's the deal, God has decreed that for every Cowboy dynasty, the fans must suffer the heartache of disappointment for exactly 15 years until they can win another Super Bowl. Check this out:
Staubach Era's last Super Bowl win was Super Bowl XII which was played in 1978. Cowboy fans suffered without another Super Bowl win for 15 years until the Aikman Era whose first Super Bowl win was in Super Bowl XXVII played in 1993. Aikman Era's last Super Bowl win was Super Bowl XXX played in 1996. We have not won a Super Bowl since then.

My prediction the Romo Era will begin next season when the Cowboys win Super Bowl XLV, 15 years after Super Bowl XXX. He may win us a Super Bowl or two, but then be prepared for another 15 years of suffering afterwards.

Further, Mr. Steroids Big Guy, I firmly believe that Wade will be knocking firmly on the NFL playoffs door next year!

It means the Cowboys can compete with the big boys. They just have to put it all together, which is easier said than done. Look at the Saints. Before the playoff bye, they were dead. There is NO WAY they would've won in the first round the way they were playing. But the week off came at the perfect time and they regrouped. Timing and putting it all together -- that's what the Cowboys have failed to do.

I wouldn't say we "absolutely handed the Giants their butts" twice in 07. We won both games, but they were both tight contests to the end. The Colts and Saints games were in doubt to the very end also. People exaggerate way too much.
