Twitter: This sounds encouraging

Zeke should honor his original contract since he has 2 years left. Would understand him demanding a new contract a year from now, but not now.

Running backs are not respected now in this league. There was a time when a real stud would be with a team for more than one contract. Franchising them to get an extra two years and then jettisoning the player is the owners maneuver. The player gets his original contract and if he outperforms, too bad. He'll get an extra two years with no real security.

Now this is important.

This year Zeke doesn't make a great deal considering his stature with the team. He is nearly 40% of the offense. (As a side note, his salary is a great amount to working stiffs like us. But this is an entertainment venue and those guys get paid well. The argument about how much he makes versus us isn't germane,)

This is the year Zeke has the hammer. This year only. Next year he will be making about threer times what he makes this year oin his last year of his contract.

This is about security He could sign a four or five year contract and have so much guaranteed, if the worst case scenario happened he would still have choices and enough money to find anoither gig. Not football if it were an injury.

So if Zeke got a debilitating injury in the first year of his franchise, he gets no more money. But Jerry understands this, and frankly this is where I think the team prepares better than most. They will sign him and this goes away and the season will roll on.

This is business and honoring his contract - which we'd be held tro that standard - does not apply because of the way the league treats the players, which is essentially meat.

Different world, different rules.

Let’s hope he’s on a plane in the next 72 hours
No rush. Zeke doesn't need the reps, better giving them to the rookie rbs for the next couple of weeks. I get we're installing a new offense, but it's way more important for the QBs and receivers, imo.

Because only the top ocf the top are worthy enough to make this move. Crawford tries this he'd be playing for the Bengals before noon.
Okay ...

I didn’t ask “why”, I just posted a film clip.

Yeah, because NFL teams always honor contracts. :muttley:

I'd like to see Zeke in camp too, but this is part of the business.

And his second post was more new information. You are acting like he posted “Dak is holding out” or Dak is a good player” like every other Zeke thread. If he had done that I would have agreed with you, but He didn’t. He offered up something new.
No he didn't. This info was posted yesterday. The picture of him with his agents has made the rounds already.

When I see something that I don't think deserves a response I pass over it. I wonder what impels people to comment on something that they said they don't think it's worth commenting on. It really takes a confused person if you ask me
And “confused” is putting it nicely. Kudo’s for you.

Did you read his start a thesis thread or are you familiar with him in anyway? Dude's the biggest hypocrite and whiner on this board. I just enjoy giving it back from time to time.
I love it when the haters try and crap on me. Keep it coming Mrs. Negative Nancy.

Perhaps people who has significant news don't want to bury that news 11 pages deep in a thread most stopped reading two days ago.

If this was such a pain in the butt for you, why did you.

1. Open it?

2. Take the time to post in it?

We all have choices here, to ignore the things we don't like.

I suppose someone could say about your comment.....look anothert post monitor complaining about new information on Zeke.
1. Look at the title did you know this was a Zeke thread based on that?

2. I made the journey here figured what the hell

Was there a thread? Seems like a lot of people weren’t aware of it. Seems even you weren’t because it took you this far into the thread to mention it had been posted here before, plus, even if there was a thread conveying this info yesterday, you didn’t comment that this was information that was already posted, you just complained about it being another thread about Zeke.

I'm so pissed I could spit nails. Tom Landry era if a player disrespected the franchise of the coach no other franchise a coach would take that player. No it's not all right for the franchise to screw up either. But I just don't know what happened to those days of integrity can you sign a freaking contract live up to it. Give me a bunch of Bill Bates football players and a great coach and I'll win a championship. Screw these prima donnas. Can't believe all these people that want those high-priced leftover free agents. They want the name they don't want the championship
It’s a different era the players live in these days. Different CBA, different everything. RB’s just don’t last long in this league especially the way Zeke runs. He bulldozes players and it’s great to see. It helps the team. It demoralizes the other team. Zeke has shown in his 1st 3 years that he puts it all out there. Every game, every play he’s in. I’m all for paying him now instead of forcing him to play out his remaining 2 years of his 5 year 1st round rookie contract. It’s smart to do it now and that’s why a contract will get done soon.

I’m actually surprised Dallas would give him anything.

He’s got 2 years left on his deal.
Well that’s not surprising. Zeke takes more punishment that any player on the team. The other players know this and believe me the other players feel he should get paid. It’s team chemistry. You just look at it from a Madden 2019 point of view.

I actually mentioned it on page two in response to you of all people. Try again.

I think he was just looking at it from a contractual standpoint. After all, it is a bit rare to renegotiate a full 2 years before a contract is up. But it does happen.

Sorry, I’m not clinging to every post you make, so I missed that. Maybe you should take the same approach with Rockport. Besides, obviously most people missed it buried in some other thread

Agree, why wouldn’t every player who is good but feels underpaid just start pulling this? Even with four years left on a contract? The NBA is allowing a similar dangerous precedent with players demanding trades with 2 and more years left on a contract....utter chaos with owners losing control
Zeke needed to keep his nose clean and pull this next year or year after.

there’s literally nothing that the nba can do to prevent players wanting to be traded and letting it be known.
Aside from Kawhi, none have held out or shutdown they just let it be known they wouldn’t sign an extension.

“Owners losing control” is a disgusting perspective.
