This team is nowhere ready to contend

I actually think we have our running back in Rico, but we definitely need someone behind him. Ezekiel Elliott is not it.

We need to release Diggs in the offseason, and add a cornerback opposite Bland. I like Schoonmaker at tight end and would be thrilled if we could get at least a fourth for Ferguson. He's one-dimensional and fumbles too much.

I would move Parsons to linebacker and that position is fixed. Get rid of Lawrence and Martin. Add some depth that defensive line. Resign Rush because we're going to need him.

We've got some pretty good receivers on the team and we don't know what we have in Mingo. We'll have a better idea come training camp. That's about the best we can do. We're stuck with Dak for at least two more years, and that means we could win even less games next year. I say draft a quarterback in the 2026 draft if it's a top 10 pick.

Even with the injuries, its not hard to see how far this team is away from being a contender.

Aside from questionable coaching, we have deficiencies all over the roster. We need:

QB
2 WRs
LT
NT
TE
S
RB
LB

Its going to take at least 2 more seasons to rebuild this roster smh
This is BS. Commanders suck and are contending. This ain’t the 90s. You guys have got to get off of this “process” crap Garrett started. It doesn’t take 2 or more seasons to contend.

Follow the blueprint. Start inside out. From the trenches out. Once you commit to the trenches it will improve the rest of your team. It’s so simple yet people just refuse to see what the good teams are doing.

We have 8 starters on IR. Kind of a big deal.
Exactly. We are a flawed team but I don’t want to hear this whole process and two or more seasons crap. There’s no 90s Cowboys team out there. This league isn’t as difficult as these 90s era teams.

Nah this offense needs some juice. Think, a RB version of Turpin (Jeanty).

Rico did his job and i applaud him for it but he isnt the answer.

What Rico did this season reminds me of what Darren McFadden did in 2015. He had over 1k yards on a bad team but we took Zeke and the offense was next level

In a league where a team can miss the playoffs completely and win the division next year? C'mon.

The Cowboys can restructure Dak, Lamb, Diggs, and Steele's contracts and be sitting on around $80 million of available cap space.

But they won't. Jerry and Cap Boy already have this year's built-in excuse for doing nothing; "we have to pay Micah".

Which they can and still have a ton of money left over. They count on fans being naive.

Who are all these excellent free agents that you would sign that would drastically improve the team? Please name them. Some of this free agency talk is complete bullsh. The Cowboys tried that approach back in the early 2000’s and it led no where. I can get signing one free agent that drastically improves the team if the position is one of a few. Kicking the can down the road just delays the inevitable. The team is and was never going anywhere (but an early playoff loss) with Dak as the starting QB. That contract just defines how bad of a GM the Cowboys have.
