The thing is, our 12-win teams werent contenders either.

1 and done twice and the lone win we got was a 8-9 Bucs squad.

True they wound up not being contenders in critical playoffs moments, but you just have to punch your playoff ticket. What plagued the prior teams was the inability to stop the run. I think if we invest there and our ability to run the ball we could bounce back.

Even with the injuries, its not hard to see how far this team is away from being a contender.

Aside from questionable coaching, we have deficiencies all over the roster. We need:

you need a QB to take over for rush & be a insurance of dak never recovering this needs to happen round 2/3 because you need someone that could start a game or 2 this year. you need to draft1 rb for sure and sign a couple of udfa rb. you need a DT and a NT. OL we need to wait a year on, but sign some insurance backups.

i’d draft a rb at 12 if its Jentry if he’s gone drop back pick up more ammo for the later rounds to fill holes. listed above.

Yeah, I was talking from our perspective not theirs.

They have mostly operated in the mid to low free agent classes. And it yielded three straight 12-5 seasons. They could do more and this past one they did not want to spend lots.

Signing even functional pieces can get very pricey. They thought that 12-5 seasons could just be replicated or gotten close to. The team was garbage this year. They got 4 of the seven wins from teams drafting in the top ten picks. This team was never going anywhere of much importance even at full health.

I have no idea how many fans cannot see the Cowboy’s team current spiral down the drain. They need MANY pieces just to contend with a decent unbroken QB. They do not have a decent unbroken QB on this roster and will not entering next season either.

I can’t say it much more. They had their shot to win, but didn’t make moves to get over the top so they didn’t have cap problems now.

Now all they do is claim cap poverty. That’s not people that know that they are doing.

It’s like a slap in the face to fans….and this is a 5-7 win team for the foreseeable future, and that’s only if the Giants don’t eventually figure things out and stop handing them two gimme wins a year.

I always go into a season thinking we are going to be better. I don't go into it with a stick up my butt and bitter. It's a game, games are meant to be fun. I had fun most of the year, you were miserable from the get go....take that stick out and enjoy life....then again you might enjoy it more with that stick being where it is. Enjoy it and miserable new year to you.
