Good offenses have the versatility and ability to take advantage of what the defense is giving them. We don't seem to have that versatility, ability, or are just to stubborn ti make the adjustments.

Prior to the salary cap and when Jimmy Johnson was our coach, it really did not matter what the defense was doing, because we could tell them the play and they still could not stop it. The team was that good.

That is never ever going to happen again. Fans need to figure that out.

Really believe this team is a run game and a defensive tweaking away from really becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Over the last 15 years, when this team has had its most successful years, it was when they had a dominant rushing attack. Barber/Murray/Zeke. . Good teams will stop one dimensional attacks. A strong running game travels and keeps the defense fresh. Also, has the ability to close out games.

Defense doesn’t need an overhaul by any means, they just are inconsistent stopping the run. When you dissect their issues, it’s due to the lack of size at the lb position and Parsons inability to set the edge. We saw how much better they were when Parsons played off the ball against the Dolphins in obvious run situations. Find a legitimate Mike linebacker and a defensive end who can at the edge.

So you're saying Jerry should have done whatever necessary to get Shaq Leonard and Derrick Henry.
I'm with you I echo your sentiments we were let down by the front office again with the we like our guys mentality.

If you look at Dak and Purdy's numbers. You can make an argument for both as an MVP. Now let's compare their RB's and it becomes very clear which QB is more valuable.

You may be correct but why doesn't Dan Quinn use Evans and Clark on the field more along with the nose tackles if you go look at the defensive scheme he runs he has some players on the team he refuses to run the schemes he just doesn't like to change his little hybrid pass rushing super NASCAR packages he runs where he likes to play man all the time leaving our corners exposed it's not just the run game he literally is allowing the team to be walked up and down the field for field goals and somehow our fan base thinks that's cute somehow they like that they think because they didn't give up touchdowns in the last game and that we held Miami under 30 points that we should have won the game that means the expectations is we have to have an offense scored 30 plus points to win a game that is on the defense the old rule of thumb used to be if you have a good defense you need to be able to run the ball on offense play conservatively get to 20 you should win the game that's not the case here we gave them a 20 -19 lead and they couldn't even stop a Nosebleed with a damn towel....

This defense get both raced down the field pretty easily for a field goal they look pretty bad between the 20s unless they get turnovers which they haven't lately get the turnover so everyone here that was screaming at me for saying this was an opportunistic defense that needed turnovers to make stops they didn't force enough punts they didn't limit drives and yardage and time of possession I was getting yelled at here they said it's part of the defense's DNA they lead the league in getting turnovers every year so just expect them to happen

Oh nowhere were all those turnovers the last two games where are all these big time stops where all these big sacks these fumbles where is it it isn't here and this defense now looks like rod marinelli's defense they bend all the way into field goal range and then typically you could almost expect three points on every drive that's what it feels like they need to make changes I don't know what he's waiting for maybe it's the playoffs I mean we definitely played the 49ers better in the playoffs that we played on this year in the regular season then he fences the weakest point on this team I don't care what people are gonna come in here and yell at me and tell me it's something to do with the offense no I saw all the games there were five games all were losses all over 20 given up exception MIA but hey a 20-19 lead with 2 mins left you NEED TO MAKE THAT STOP!

Yep there's your defense I mean look we can call it a team loss we can blame a little bit about offense and play calling but those numbers are ridiculous you're not a championship defense giving up points like that I don't care if its modern day era, you can't be proud of those output the fact is that last drive against Miami that's just it what our defense does they may be able to stop a few drives from becoming touchdowns but you can get into field goal range rather easily in most games unless they pull the ball out even the win againt Philly at home here, those plays were working they were wide open they went behind and pulled the ball out but the execution of the play beat the defense, they were putting up chunk yards the runs the passes and yeah we went and pulled the ball out that doesn't hide the fact that our defense was giving up yardage...

In a majority of the games we lose Dak is under more duress than more than the opposing QB.

Our D plays well with a lead and our D can play 1 dimensional and focus just on the pass.

I just basically described the game to you and it's a death by 1000 cuts with this team it isn't just that one play by Murray literally when the defense has the opportunity with the lead with under 3 minutes to play and you don't make a stop twice against Green Bay in 2014 and 2016 it is clearly on the defense just like the Miami game last week it's clearly on the defense but people wanna go back and look at the fumble or go back and look at some penalties or not finishing a play or blah blah blah no you're supposed to have a defense that when they're given the lead with that little bit of time left you need to make a stop when you don't make a stop it is on the defense that's the group on the field as the last line of defense pun intended and they don't do their jobs!!

Quite a few things haven't really worked out great this year and will ultimately be the downfall of the team.

1. Tyron Smith is essentially holding the team hostage at Left Tackle. He's a great player but he is undependable and they haven't found a sufficient backup or plan for him.
2. Tony Pollard did not end up being the same guy, some OL to blame there but he definitely lost a step.
3. Lost Diggs
4. Terrance Steele did not end up being the same guy.
5. Injuries to the LB'ers hurt. They didn't replace what they were going to use Overshown for, then LVE got hurt. Not that LVE was all world but he was certainly better than any replacement they tried.
6. The Safeties which were supposed to be a strength this season have been pretty abysmal. Outside of Hooker, they've been struggling.

Add all that up and there really is no chance this team will go too far. It is what it is.

I disagree about the Raven’s staff, they struggle to close out games and always blow big leads late
