Our FO made 2 decisions that have determined where we are

Signing LVE instead of Wagner for 500k less

Not getting Henry or Connor at the trade deadline

Do these 2 and we are the 1 seed right now
I don't believe Wagner wanted to come to Dallas. He's been a west coast guy his entire life and went back to where he's spent most of his career.

You cant do a team is incomplete thread imo if youre gonna leave out the 3 primary personnel requirements for NFL success at GM, HC and QB.

The GM is a given, no need to even discuss.
The HC AND his QB have peaked/maxed out their individual potential to a WildCard/Divisional loss level of performance.

Replacing 1, 2 or all 3 is the key to the Cowboys ultimate success in the NFL.

All the other needed personnel is just distant seconds.

I disagree, having really good trench play on both sides of the ball is just as important as qb play. I’m pretty sure mahomes has never won a Super Bowl when the chiefs had a defense that couldn’t get stops when needed

Ughhhhh!!!! We need a 1 tech besides Mazi. You do realize that Hankins almost retired and is one of the worst graded defensive tackles. We also need to replace Gholston and Gallimore. Year 3 and 4 they have gotten worse.
They are all rotational/backup types. Jerry cannot tell the difference.

The Ravens have 4 solid rotational defensive tackles. A mix of veterans and young players. I don’t see why we can’t be like them along the lines.

Because we refuse to prioritize the DT position. And we aim for the wrong skillset.

The Cowboys are actually fine at receiver and the secondary for next season time to invest in the meat and potatoes players.

You’ll never have a complete team in this era of football.

The Cowboys as they currently stand have enough.

They just need to outplay their opponent.
you can but it will be for 1 or 2 seasons max, and you have to win in those years.
Denver did it when ware was there phil when they won,LA did with stafford the 1st year etc.

I'd say the real foolishness was thinking this janky offensive line was going to hold up long enough to matter. It doesn't matter who's got the ball if they're running behind guys like Bass, Steele's one good knee, and Edoga.
I'm a believer that the blame goes to both the line and the running backs. I don't think either needs to be absolved.

I don't understand why a post like this gets made. Wagner was never coming to Dallas. We knew it then and was confirmed later. Henry wasn't getting traded. TEN said that. Was Connor officially on the block? I don't believe he was.

You don’t understand a lot of things

You can get Wagner would have come for more money and a chance at a ring

Philly found a way to get Swift. The reason we did not get a bruiser RB is because we think Pollard is great and our run game is just fine

Just saved myself reading 5 pages on this topic...we have needed this for 30 years, but decide annually on calling on guys 5 years out of retirement or jail to fill the voids

Old school football yes. 2023 nope…
Look at the average yards per play picked up by the best running teams. Look at the average scoring drives of the best running teams. Look at the amount of wins and points scored by the best running teams, none of those teams are the best teams in the league!!!
Last year Eagles decided ti take away the pass from the Chiefs, what won them the game was that they successfully ran the football against the light box

Really believe this team is a run game and a defensive tweaking away from really becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Over the last 15 years, when this team has had its most successful years, it was when they had a dominant rushing attack. Barber/Murray/Zeke. . Good teams will stop one dimensional attacks. A strong running game travels and keeps the defense fresh. Also, has the ability to close out games.

Defense doesn’t need an overhaul by any means, they just are inconsistent stopping the run. When you dissect their issues, it’s due to the lack of size at the lb position and Parsons inability to set the edge. We saw how much better they were when Parsons played off the ball against the Dolphins in obvious run situations. Find a legitimate Mike linebacker and a defensive end who can at the edge.
I think it is very difficult in todays salary cap NFL to have a complete team, especially with depth. To be honest I think that is the way the NFL likes it. Anyone can beat anyone, with the exception of the teams that decided to complete rebuild or who have severe injuries.
