I thought he played well, takes up two blockers every play. Problem is Quinn loses that pass rush he loves with him in.

But against mobile qb's at least we cannot continue to get killed like we have. The reason we can't stop it is losing contain but also because were susceptible up the middle on runs. Hankins helps with that.

You have to be willing to be a bit more conservative on d and play some contain. Let Micah play some more middle instead of rushing the passer
So accuse of me of going low with a comment and you proceed to two full paragraphs going even lower. Gottcha

That one made your hole point seem like we were getting because we were playing "lanky" DT's, which is inaccurate. Make an effort to make sure your communication was effective. If you are going to go the deep end when someone goes low with you, grow thicker skin

At this point, Osa looks like a nice rotational player. I haven't seen starting ability from him.
With what we have on the interior you are probably right. With his quickness and leverage, if he had a stronger player next to him he would probably be solid. With what we have, he is going to be the main focus on the interior. He isnt good enough for that

Feel like we struggle mostly against QBs that can run…Fields is about as good as it gets.

It doesn’t help we refuse to let Parsons play MLB in base defense to help the run. Teams run right at him bc he’s undersized and he can’t set an edge.

He should’ve spied Fields most of the game.
Yes, Fields killed us all day like Jones with the Giants did. The Cowboys stopped Jones in the second half by putting Wilson as a spy on him. Why did they not do that with Fields today? I don't understand why we keep letting guys who are known for their legs more than their arms run wild on us.

Absolutely not true. We gave it up in the middle consistently. I swear, where do you guys get this from?

Dude the big runs were outside...bouncing out, option the big runs were outside..did you watch the game? literally strung us wide all game gave up contain..the edges are still soft and that hasnt changed.

With Micah limited, they seemed to want to make Wilson the guy the offense had to be aware of. I dont think it was necessary. I think a more conservative gameplan with keeping Wilson as a spy would have worked well in the 2nd half

With his length and wrestling background, he compensate for lack of size. Its not like he is routinely getting blown off the line
He doesn't have to get blown off the ball...it's his style of play . He's jumping around the offensive lineman trying to get into the backfield. That by itself leaves a hole. And he plays like that because he's small and quick.
Offensive lineman can get to the second level quick as hell if the DT jumps out of the way. So no, he should be starting against teams with bigger backs or run first teams. Because while he's penetrating the running back is running right by him.

Hooker being out and Wilson and Kearse both getting banged up probably dropped their effectiveness in that.

Was Hill hurt today? Didn’t seem him working in on any rotations.
He may have been the inactive one, they seem to pick DT to be inactive based on match ups. I think after the bye they will have a more solid rotation, it almost seemed they used Hankins a lot to see what he could do in their packages.

Wilson didn't get hurt until very late. They didn't use him like that all game before he got hurt

Thats usually what 3T's do. Its a penetrative position

They're not really running a base 4-3 or hybrid/combo set. They run a lot of defensive snaps out of 4-2-5 to get their 3 safeties involved. Once the run clears the front 4 they seem to have an easy 6-9 yrds. With Clark working into the line-up hopefully we'll see a more traditional 4-3 early and we won't get gashed as much. Hankins will help, but right now the front 4 is built to chase the QB. Other teams know this and continually use that speed/aggression against us
