Thoughts about the Giants

He needs to work on clock management. But I will give him and the OC and DC, heck the whole staff is getting done right now so I give them all credit because if this season was going south then MM would be getting a lot of blame.
Again, that's okay, but please don't make the mistake of simply making Jason Garrett the bar for a head coach. McCarthy is better than Garrett, of course, but he's not, so far, proven to be THAT much better. The coordinators are doing great and Moore was already here while Quinn took over after McCarthy gave his buddy a job. Let's not get it twisted. McCarthy is the weak link between him and the coordinators.

Their OC sucks…. I haven’t watched them but apparently per this thread the big plays are coming from the QBs legs. Sounds a lot like what was going on here from 2008-2013 with that same OC having complete control over the offense, with Romo having to compensate for the trash play-calling, bailing the pocket and making plays. Talk about waste of QB talent…

If we lose to them, it’s going to be embarrassing.

wow, I am totally impressed with your knowledge of my boys. You hit on every one of them. You could have added a few things though, like these:

- their defense has allowed a last second TD every game just before the half this season.

- up until last Sunday Jason Garrett was calling the majority of plays that only allowed for his receivers to run button hooks. He finally listened to Giant fans screaming for him to let the horses run freely, and they did.

- the injuries to WRs, Shepard and Slayton, were a blessing in disguise because that allowed for both John Ross (4.2 speed) and Kadarius Toney (1st round pick) to show what they have. Speed and shifty moves. Combined with Golladay, Daniel Jones finally has some bona fide weapons to throw to, as shown by the 402 yards passing Sunday.

- a huge concern for NY is the fact that their defense has only been able to generate an average of one turnover and one sack per game. This needs to be corrected if they want to win more games.
Koney's breakout could be huge for you guys, especially if he can knock Slayton down the pecking order. Slayton is a good player, but he is probably better suited to being a 3rd option at WR as opposed to being featured

I live in western NY so they are usually on TV here. Its basically the same offense with long developing plays that Garrett ran before 2014

I don't care a single bit about a thing you and a few others on here have to say. You keep wasting your time begging for my attention though. It's cute.
You sure do write a lot for a guy that doesn't care! Lol, stop fooling yourself. OK, go back to your madden game, I have to check on dad...btw, he's the reason. I retired at 50....gotta take care of family
Salud!

How come your risking blindness watching that garbage? I texted my Giants fan friend a week or so back how he’s enjoying Garrett.

He used to come over a lot on Sundays and he’d listen to me complain all the time about how Garrett is ruining us with his play-calling.

He hasn’t texted back…

We cannot ever, under no circumstances, not take a divisional rival seriously.

We are fooling ourselves if we think we can just steam roll this team without having everyone stay locked in and focused.

It's on the coaches and the leaders in that locker room to have our guys ready.
They haven't look good this year, but they dangerous. They have weapons, and while Jones still isnt as effective as a winning team needs, he has improved significantly as a passer since last year. He is averaging over 8 yards an attempt with a 66% completion percentage, so some things are coming together for him.

Should we win. Absolutely. But we definitely cant sleep on them either

Good man.

I respect you and what you have to say. I was referring to Royaice and a few of his pals who I care not a single bit about what they have to say about anything Cowboys related.

I go back and forth between them an Buffalo at 1. I only really watch them because I like to keep an eye in division teams. Plus Jones turnovers are always entertaining

We absolutely SHOULD steamroll the Giants but I am with you. The Giants have been known to kill our QBs..biggest worry IMO. Hopefully Dak won't run against them. If we spy Jones and not let him run all over, it should be a simpler game than last week but like you said...coaching has to keep guys locked in.

I would agree, except for this past Sunday. Finally he let the horses run and got Barkley out in space….finally. I hope that wasn’t a one and done thing.

FWIW Garrett has a history of breaking from the old ways when the fans, media and losses pile up. He will change things up for a game or two and as a fan you have hope that maybe he has changed. But then he falls back to the conservative timing based offense. So I say this with unwanted experience, do not get your hopes up.

I particularly loved that of the 5 yard variety on 3rd and 8. Then the punt to play the field position game.

Sound familiar? Even beyond that example, he is way stuck in a different time, is stubborn as can be about it, and Judges biggest mistake by far was bringing him on when having a young QB to develop.

Romo, coupled with Jerry's own stubbornness, gave this guy a much longer high level coaching life than he could ever be qualified for.

What Garrett probably is, is a head coach of a college program, one in a conference that sends a few guys to the NFL here and there.

But his words sold several NFL higher ups otherwise.

Enjoy....

Hopefully this is a revenge game for Dak and he lights them up.

However, playing smart and focused is more important than seeking revenge.

This is why I would love to get up on them early. Make them get away from there run game. Get pressure and force them to make mistakes. Then run down there throats and let Elliot and Pollard drain the clock and score.

ALL opponents are capable of beating us. And we are capable of beating all our opponents. This truth is the main difference between college and pro FB. In the NFL, the difference in talent between the best and worst teams is razor thin. When Ala, Okla, and Ohio State line up each week in their college games, they have a huge talent advantage. (One reason I’m not as impressed with college coaches)
