Thoughts and opinions about last night's Super Bowl!

Mahomes, a pick 6, another pick inside the 10, a fumble. Where is the outrage that he choked, again in a SB.
Yes he won 3 as well. But that does not count, only the bad games. :muttley:
If the person you backhandedly refer to somehow could unchoke enough to choke in a SB I would be surprised.

I do not understand this need this morning to put down what KC has done these past six years as if it means the Cowboys and their players a any better than they are. I mean this thread, the Hendershot thread. It is real sad to read some people's comments. And for the record, I am tired of Mahomes and the Chiefs. And yes I am glad they lost yesterday.

Is this what success looks like for the Cowboys now? Not actual results, but false equivalencies?

An absolute nightmare scenario for Stephen and Jerry crying about cap funds. It might be a good thing for Cowboys fans that the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
They don’t care they know how the cap works, but when your job is never on the line and you can go 30 years with no true success then it doesn’t matter

They know they need free agents they know they need to build over at QB

But towing the status quo is fine with them because it brings in almost billions a year

Philly put up 95 points against Washington and KC combined while giving up 45.

That's preparation, confidence, and being ready to rumble.

KC met a hot team and never got comfortable. And that's being nice

I'd still trade Qak for Jalen Hurts any day of the week. He does so many things better than Qak ever could. (Qak's best trait, maybe his only positive trait, is sucking up to Booger).

-Thought the Chiefs were badly outcoached, more undisciplined team
-When a defense plays shell coverage, the way to beat it is to run the football against the light box, they ran the ball just 6 times in the 1st half.
-Chiefs playing their Guard at left tackle finally caught up to them, thought Josh Sweat was the best rusher on the night and earned a big payday this offseason.
-Did an excellent job containing Barkley, but allowed too many rushes to Hurts that got them out of long situations.
-Defensive penalties, ball 3 feet over the head and defender has to hit the guy in the head, Bolton with a personal foul when it's 2nd and 20.

-I think the media can now pipe down says Mahomes is the goat. Two terrible super bowl performances in similar fashion. Not sure many are old enough to have seen Montana, but he never lost, period, just like Jordan. I laugh at people who think Lebron is better, same goes with Brady. Montanta/Jordan never lost and were the reason why they won!!
It was nice to see the Chiefs get their butt kicked unfortunately it was by the Eagles.

The Eagles just have no weaknesses and their DL is monstrous. We all laughed when they drafted all those Georgia Bulldogs on defense calling them the Philadelphia Bulldogs......... I guess they get the last laugh.

Mahomes made uncharacteristic mistakes with the pick 6 and another that set up Philly in side the 20 which was quickly converted to another TD. Game over. The KC offense doesn't have the talent at the skill positions to play from behind, and they couldn't protect him anyway.

That’s all cowboys fans have left. Things are so bad they now have to try and revel in the fact that the Chiefs *checks notes* failed to 3 peat after winning 2 Super Bowl in a row.

It's embarrassing. To hear Cowboys fans whining about which team you are going to root for in the SB or bemoaning the lack of criticism for a 1st ballot HOFer, who has dominated in the league for nearly a decade, because their mediocre, overpaid QB gets scorched for making on-field blunders is a joke.

Mahomes had no protection, the Philly DL did a job on mahomes who got sacked over and over and was under pressure the whole night. it allowed them to drop 6,7 into coverage and it was tough for the recievers to get open. they blanketed Kelce and forced them to go to other WRs and they couldn't really deliver when it mattered. Hurts had a lot of time to just sit in the pocket and survey the field. the game is won inside out...build the lines and the rest will fall in place.

the chiefs focused on stopping barkley and forgot about Hurts who used his legs. they rushed for 135 yards.

defense wins championship. even Hurts said it after the game.

Kellen Moore was rubbing it into Jones a little too. he wanted the cowboys jobs and jones didn't show enough interest. it will be interesting when we play Saints again.

I would also add " commitment to the run"

Chiefs only gave their RBs, 7 designed runs while Saquon ran the rock 25 times himself.

Yes, saquon only averaged 2.5 per rush but going one dimensional rarely wins.
its threat of the run and how many times you run, so the defense can't just drop into coverage.

He was hit on the pic 6 so that isn't entirely on him. And he was running for his life the entire game. The Eagles scoring pace dictated the game and Mahomes was behind the 8 ball all night.

He has won 3 super bowls, something only a very few have ever done. And he is only 29 years old.

DL line talent is critical. That was the game really. In the modern NFL if you can get pressure with 4 and put 7 in coverage you are going to make the opposing offensive miserable.

Oh and all the guys here that hated on Fangio were wrong.

Biggest take away for me is Hurts, may not be Brady, but he is not rattled by big games unlike our guy. That's the most important skill and a QB either has it or they don't.
Personally I think that has settled in over time for Dak.

When he was younger it wasn’t really an issue. It’s like the pressure to do better got to him.

But I agree. Those characteristics matter most. Mental makeup is huge.

Nobody hates Fangio more than Rayne Dakota....Vic has dominated him since his Denver days

I saw a Chiefs' OL get beaten, to set the tone from the beginning. Mahomes was rattled last night, just as Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrows would have been, under siege every play. And we know that's not common. And we should realize that's not exclusive to just our QB and would have been the same for Hurts had the Philly OL been under siege too with a collapsed pocket and containment. The visually impaired know that.
