Thoughts and opinions about last night's Super Bowl!

Mahomes had no protection, the Philly DL did a job on mahomes who got sacked over and over and was under pressure the whole night. it allowed them to drop 6,7 into coverage and it was tough for the recievers to get open. they blanketed Kelce and forced them to go to other WRs and they couldn't really deliver when it mattered. Hurts had a lot of time to just sit in the pocket and survey the field. the game is won inside out...build the lines and the rest will fall in place.

the chiefs focused on stopping barkley and forgot about Hurts who used his legs. they rushed for 135 yards.

defense wins championship. even Hurts said it after the game.

Kellen Moore was rubbing it into Jones a little too. he wanted the cowboys jobs and jones didn't show enough interest. it will be interesting when we play Saints again.
The mighty Andy Reid refused to even try to run the football. This was his issue when he was the Eagle HC.

Reminded me of the last KC SB loss against Tampa. The Oline was awful. Pat had no time. KC will make it a priority to shore it up this offseason and most likely be right back.
Did Andy Reid make any adjustments to help his OL, did he even want to run the football?

DL line talent is critical. That was the game really. In the modern NFL if you can get pressure with 4 and put 7 in coverage you are going to make the opposing offensive miserable.

Oh and all the guys here that hated on Fangio were wrong.
You counter that by running against light boxes.

They just got hit with a buzz saw. Barely possessed the ball in the first half to get anything going.

-Thought the Chiefs were badly outcoached, more undisciplined team
-won a defense plays shell coverage, the way to beat it is to run the football against the light box, they ran the ball just 6 times in the 1st half.
-Chiefs playing their Guard at left tackle finally caught up to them, thought Josh Sweat was the best rusher on the night and earned a big payday this offseason.
-Did an excellent job containing Barkley, but allowed too many rushes to Hurts that got them out of long situations.
-Defensive penalties, ball 3 feet over the head and defender has to hit the guy in the head, Bolton with a personal foul won it's 2nd and 20.

-I think the media can now pipe down says Mahomes is the goat. Two terrible super bowl performances in similar fashion. Not sure many are old enough to have seen Montana, but he never lost, period, just like Jordan. I laugh at people who think Lebron is better, same goes with Brady. Montanta/Jordan never lost and were the reason why they won!!
Andy Reid is not a big game coach. He never was. That might not be a popular opinion, but after 14 years of losing games they should have won the Eagles cut him loose for just that reason. If you want a guy that can get you to the playoffs, he'll do it. Being around Eagles fan's all the time I can say they didn't miss him. Having say that his team was just overmatched. Just like the first Super Bowl where the Chiefs beat the Eagles, the Eagles were more talented and should have won. I really do think Dak Is Better Than Hurts, at least passing. But Hurts doesn't let pressure affect him. He's Clutch in big situations. Watching that game last night was kind of depressing because it made me came away with the fact we have a long way to go. And I do agree the Chiefs were outcoached. If the Eagles have a draft like last year I'm afraid they're going to be around for a long time.

#1, Cooper Rush looked every bit as good against that Eagles defense as Patrick Mahomes did LOL

#2, was anyone else as impressed by Nick Sirianni's post game interview on the field as I was? That guy seems like the genuine article. Clearly loves the guys in his locker room and they obviously love playing for him. I wish we had a guy like that as our coach

No. Andy Reid didn't do anything. 1 of the Eagles players said they knew what Kansas City was going to do, and they didn't change anything. He also said they thought they were going to blow Kansas City out all week, and did.

I only watched a few minutes early. Once it became clear KC couldn’t compete, there was no reason to watch any further. I checked the score twice the rest of the way via Alexa but that was that.

This was the same defense that gave Dak fits against the 49ers. You have to be able to run the football well to get them out of that shell coverage.

This was probably one of the worst Chiefs teams despite their record, were closely beating teams, even the bad ones throughout the season.

Was Montana ever pressured as much as Mahomes in his two losing SB’s? I don’t think so…

What i learned about what is needed to contend:

1. discipline and commitment to winning: we dont have it

2. A good/great GM: we dont have it

3. A QB that is good enough, wont make bone headed mistakes and wont wilt under pressure: we dont have it

4. A dominant defense with a top DC, great DL: we dont have it

5. A good/great OL and a real effective rhn game: we dont have it

We are 0-5

When you have an elite run game and OL it certainly takes the pressure off the QB, on top of Hurts ability to beat team with his legs and tush push. I am full agreement with you, Reid never was a big game coach, it took having a hall of fame QB to win these games for him.

Chiefs biggest weakness throughout the year was their two tackles, they were forced to move their all pro guard to play left tackle cause of lack of performance. The better teams will expose your weakness.

He had to win multiple games on his last drive and faced far better competition to get to the Super Bowl.

My only thought during the game was, “could Dallas ever get to that level of playing defense?”

They were close once in the last 20 years when they lost to Farve and the Vikings. Our OL got old and destroyed in that game.
