Different quarterback when he finds his rhythm.
Makes his way through progressions.
Strong hands allow for easy pump fakes to move defenders.
Generally accurate passer between the numbers.
Confident throwing over linebackers and in front of safeties.
Good toughness and anticipation as a runner.
Willing to dive to move the chains.

Purdy is an efficient rhythm passer who makes good decisions.
Purdy has a catchable ball with nice touch and is accurate in the short to intermediate part of the field.
Purdy doesn't have a powerful arm and is not a mobile running threat.
Purdy's high completion percentage is padded by many quick screens.
Purdy's receivers make him look good with acrobatic catches.
Purdy's back-foot throws are not accurate.
Purdy sometimes trusts his arm too much, trying to stick passes late in the play or when off-balance.

What's y'all opinion on this guy? I thought he was a bus driver tbh, but these last two games against the Packers and Lions, this guy made plays. I'm still not completely sold on him, but he did show more than I ever thought he could.
He's better than Jak!!!!!!

Kudos to the 49-ers for not flinching in their efforts to improve their QB position. They had Garoppolo who they traded for, found out what he could and couldn't do, traded him, drafted Lance and Purdy, determined what Lance could and could not do, pulled the plug and rolled with Purdy. In the modern NFL you have to be okay with failing because it is going to happen. What you don't want to happen though is to fail on a long timeline. Instead you fail fast and move on.

Lol.

Someone mentioned poise and that's very true. His awareness is excellent and he can sling it accurately downfield. The plays he made with his legs in the Championship Game were infuriating because I wanted the Niners to lose but he was a player making plays and you can't deny that. An added dimension to his arsenal. As good a 7th Round draft pick as you'll ever find playing the most important position on the field.

Amazing what a couple lucky plays gets you. He was REALLY close to losing in the Divisional round to GB. Should have been a pick 6 and another INT that were just plain dropped.

Then if Detroit isn't coached by Dan Cambell, likely loses to Detroit as well.

He's a bus driver, paid little and surrounded by talent and a great head coach. Put him on another team and he doesn't see the field.

All the guy does is win and put up great numbers. Somehow the media wants to penalize him for having great supporting players and coaching. Newsflash - most really successful QBs have great coaching and supporting staffs. There are only a few exceptions in the history of the game, Brady and Mahomes to name a couple.

This is not a Garrapollo situation where the team is carrying him. Purdy is more than carrying his own weight and then some.

How do you know how good he is?

He's got the best coaches and talent in the league around him. Everyone drools over Shanahan and the Shanahan coaching tree. He's got a defense with best linebacker core in the game. Good DLine. He's got two very good combo running back/receivers in Deebo and white boy.

I mean...if Dak were in his place posters would say Dak has a silver spoon in his mouth and could play with his eyes shut. Thats fact.

If you want to test a QB...put them in Daniel Jones situation the past 3 or 4 years. I want to see what Daniel Jones could do on the 49ers right now. It would be like going from playing in hell to playing in heaven.

Purdy has had it extremely easy. He makes throws and is talented. But he's had it easy. He looked bad for a quarter or two in that first playoff game though.

You have absolutely no proof that the results would be the same with Dak under center. In fact I would bet that if the 49-ers had Dak they would have shipped him out the first time he crapped the bed in the playoffs. The difference between the two franchises is simply this - unlike the Cowboys the 49-ers aren't ever done improving their team.

Purdy is only 24....the 3rd youngest starting QB in the SB
Led the league in multiple categories.
The first Shannahn QB to lead the league in QB rating and ypa.... though we know the system helps.

His setup is very good. Very good defense. Although his Offensive line is ranked well below Dallas', his overall weapons are better

He is still early on his NFL learning curve, as could be seen in the playoffs.
So far, so good though

Purdy is much better mentally than physically, although his scrambling against the Lions surprised me. Still, put him on an ordinary team and he would most likely wind up an the bench.

Why does this matter on a Dallas Cowboys site this guy means nothing to us and we've seen him lose three straight games and or have quarters where he struggles when deebo Samuels or Christian McCaffrey or one of his main guys are off the offensive line we see him throwing interceptions he's a good quarterback but like most quarterbacks he needs help meaning one of the best defenses in the League One of the best coaching Staffs in the league and 1A team that's loaded with talent...

Have we seen him try to play on a team that's getting stripped of all its stars like Patrick mahomes Patrick mahomes is on an island by himself the best quarterback in the league and then you have group 2 which is clogged up with about nine other quarterbacks including ours I don't think Brock Purdy is a better quarterback in Prescott... But even if he was why does our fan base think it's OK to start a conversation about someone else's quarterback when he's not a free agent he has no chance of coming here so why do we need to judge the man why don't you just start one and say he's a great quarterback and you wish he can replace our quarterback because that's what this is a veiled attempt at acting like a team by the way who tripped over him they didn't pick him with any intentions of him being number one they made him monumental mistake as a GM and as a coach picking Trey Lance with three first round picks to move up to get the guy and then him being a bust up to this point..

so sometimes it's better to be lucky than good including the New England Patriots because Tom Brady was not a plan not to be who he ended up being This is why you have to sometimes be lucky and in my opinion the 49ers got lucky to find a guy he's a good quarterback he's in Tier 2 like I said lumped in with the rest of the guys we talk about a lot... I don't see anything special about him I mean he struggled in the first half of the last game he threw a pic he got lucky that the other one bounced off the helmet of a defender and somehow their wide receiver caught it you know Allah Eli Manning and the giants type catches those are just lucky,... So he's no Joe Montana he is not an elite quarterback but yes he's one of the top quarterbacks in the league and the 49ers were lucky to find him last in the draft..
This is the NFL zone and frankly do dry up and blow away

Waiting for RonnieT24, the ultimate Pudy hater to appear

The guy is kind of like Alex Smith; a very good QB but not elite.
