Thoughts on Carl Davis? Or, how bout Quinton Bohanna if he isn't protected by the Lions?

Davis is a 30 yr old vet who actually had had a few hundred snaps the last couple of years in New England. Slightly taller and heavier measurements than Hankins. It's an addition that makes a lot of sense.

Then again, Isaiah Stanback proposed today that Bohanna might be worth considering. Been on the Lions PS this season, got some snaps in a few games fairly recently, and of course, was a starter here for a chunk of last season. Might not have a chance to add him since you can protect 4 players on PS each week, and Lions might decide to take that option.

But just on the merits, which do you feel better about helping in Hankins' absence. God-honest question. Not a comment posing as a question.

Cowboys should have kept John Ridgeway instead of Bohanna last year. Big mistake that is coming back to haunt the team.

Bohanna was the reason we went and got Hankins. Maybe he's improved, but if not, I'd rather take the chance on Davis and Mazi being able to handle it better.
Ditto here.

That's what I was about to post as well.

I'm good with going/investing with the best run stuffing DT prospect in the NFL draft.
Mazi is even stronger and more athletic than a Ridgeway, more high ceiling potential.
Ridgeway has came and gone. Water under the bridge now.

Disagree.

Ridgeway has contributed more as a rookie last year and even this year as a sophomore than Mazi has for us this rookie year. One can try to spin it however they want, their stats speak the truth. Go look them up. Ridgeway has been more productive than Mazi has so far. Mazi was running over our Offensive line every day in training camp this year, yet once the regular season started, that training camp Mazi disappeared.

If they poach Bohanna back to the team, then he must stay on the active roster for 4 games. Do they really want to release a player for that?
And they are not going to put Hankins on IR to clear a spot.

It's year one, AC. Give the kid a chance to acclimate to the NFL.

He’s done nothing.

Spare me the predictable “his value doesn’t show up in stats” bit too. PFF has him with a 45.5 grade.
Why did you leave out the most important stat: tackles???

Oooh, it's because it destroys your warped and biased narrative.
