I think of it this way, when compared to the rest of the NFL, there are only a few coaches I would rank Garrett ahead of...For example, I would not want Marv Lewis as our coach. I would not want John Harbaugh, Hue Jackson or Mike Tomlin. No thanks to Dirk Koetter, Jay Gruden, Pat Shurmur and Todd Bowles. I would pass on Andy Reid too. Anthony Lynn, Doug Marrone, Frank Reich and Bill O'Brien I see as non-factors as well. Vance Joseph? Meh. The rest of the coaches would be an upgrade. The coach that I would have loved to see as our guy? Zimmer.

My thoughts are Garrett is exactly what he was as a player--smart and likable, and average.

He'll never be more than what he is - - his strategy, philosophy, decisions are set in stone and not getting any better.

he's proved himself adept at dismantling the roster, however

He was a backup QB and he's a backup Coach. Just good enough to stick around. He's a survivor, I'll give that to him.

Most of you know me as the Garrett Sucks guy, but in all seriousness, I think Garrett is a pretty good coach. My biggest issue with him is that he doesn't seem to have control over his OC. Wether that is because Jerry has him handcuffed or he has too much respect for Linehan to question him, I don't know. Moving forward, I think Jason needs to get more involved in the play calling. He was a hot item as an OC when we hired him, you would figure that he could inject some excitement into Linehans scheme. What do you think of Garrett? Be nice, @Idgit is watching.....

I don't put that heavily on the head coach.
You hire an OL coach specifically to decide that depth chart.
When we put Bell in he also gave up sacks.

DAL had far worse talent than ATL that game.

You sound like Jerry - making excuses for Garrett's failures. The dude was hired to notice things like someone on the o'line getting his butt handed to him, same as the o'line coach.

Not sure what part of "the other sucked too" you didnt get.
Green was replaced and the his replacement was whooped twice more.

And again ATL had better talent, period.
